There's something similar to the brain crack issue grey was talking about centered around procrastination. The idea is that the more you delay something that you need to do, however trivial it might be, the more insurmountable the task ends up being in your mind. My friend mentioned this about when he needed to go to the dmv. It ended up taking him nearly a year to get his new state plates because he convinced himself that because it was taking so long for him to do this, then it must be really difficult. it only took him like two hours.
the people i'm still friends with from highschool all look back on our previous selves thinking "wtf were those gross gremlins?" and i think that's a sign of smart friends and having the ability to shit on our past is good. you should be able to say "i was awful and im glad im not that anymore" with no shame and be able to understand that

I like the Swiss cantons for distinctive, but geometrically pleasing flags. The Canadian provinces do a good job, but Ontario and Manitoba are too similar. The Japanese prefectures are vexillographically sound, but suffer from what Brady might describe as a "corporate logo" look.
So past the time when this would be seen but this is when I’m listening to it so whatever. I really really identify with the “feeling like past you when in the past locations” thing. I recently got through college and after 6 years I’m a much more different person than high school me and being back home I am not enjoying it and my regression back toward high school me in behavior. Latest Sim City was way disappointing. But I#d recommend CGP Grey to look at cities skylines. That is the spiritual successor to the classic Sim City. So many options and addons to make the game run like you want. Anyways. Am loving your podcast. 3/5 stars from Scotland.

I think Colorado's flag is great as well. It's easily recognizable on a flag pole, simple enough to replicate, reminiscent of the us flag, and representative of the state while still managing to stand out from the crowd.
Hawaii, Arizona, Indianna, Alaska, Maryland, and Pennsylvania have nice flags. The Maryland one is actually my favorite. The Australian flags are terrible. The seals on the right side look like child's stickers.

I think Grey would be a good president, king, etc. If all of society was as logical as him. But people are not, they don't think I want to elect this candidate, because his methods might not benefit me, but they will benefit humanity. People are selfish. Even if they don't realize it. They want their ruler to be doing something for them, specifically as a person, no matter how unreasonable that is. Most people can't really realize that something may be best for humanity as a whole, and it might not be to great for them. They don't care about humanity as a whole. They care about their own wants and needs. If someone like Grey was a ruler, everything would be better in all quantifiable measures, more GDP per capita, a better economy, better of all immediate things you could look at. But people wouldn't be happy, and that is kind of a problem with us. People aren't happy because of things that it would make logical sense to improve, because most people are not very logical, they are emotional, and their emotions and opinions are what guide them, not logic. I know this sounds _really_ odd, but I think it makes sense... it makes sense to me... I think...
Gray, I just watched your "8 Animal Misconceptions" video, and then came back to finish listening to this video, and the voice you use in your misconception video is different from the voice in this one. ok, maybe that's because they're three years apart.
As an Oregonian... I completely forget that our flag says State of Oregon on it. Why? Double sided flag. The other side is far more memorable as it's just a gold beaver on a blue field. So when I hear Oregon state flag I first think of a beaver, then a turtle, and then eventually after a lot of thinking I might remember the boring side. Why a turtle? Look at the back and let your eyes lose focus, now view the left side as the front of that object and boom you are looking at a turtle leaning off of something, like he's getting a drink of water with his head stretched out all the way. Also, commendably close on Oregon pronunciation... For anyone not of Oregon, just pretend the state is called Organ, you will sound far more correct than that Ore-E-Gone pronunciation...

Why? Double sided flag. The other side is far more memorable as it's just a gold beaver on a blue field.
So when I hear Oregon state flag I first think of a beaver, then a turtle, and then eventually after a lot of thinking I might remember the boring side.
Why a turtle? Look at the back and let your eyes lose focus, now view the left side as the front of that object and boom you are looking at a turtle leaning off of something, like he's getting a drink of water with his head stretched out all the way.
Also, commendably close on Oregon pronunciation... For anyone not of Oregon, just pretend the state is called Organ, you will sound far more correct than that Ore-E-Gone pronunciation...
