Thank you for posting this video, it was such a relief to see your video! I have been working/learning on my daughters Beetle/Headache ever since she bought it after I told her NOT to buy a bug. Thank you, Thank you, THANK YOU!
Ariel Aceves , your welcome , yes the vw bug is a bit much it seems like even the simplest job seems to be WAY over engineered, lol let me know if i can help you
Thank you for this ! I literally just made it home my radiator cracked on the bottom and was leaking fluid , thanks to you I can save $ and replace it myself 👍🏼✌🏽
Nice information. Our 2001 VW Beetle has had a very slow leak that we did a lot of minor leak repair. Only to find it's still leaking, but now it's at the left lower edge of the radiator. Just a slow weep seep... Probably could dump some of the silver core repair and get away with it. But the radiator is only about $55 bucks off eBay or Rockauto has some decent ones at a reasonable cost. I'll be doing ours in a week or so. (plenty of time, I"m furloughed from my job until the pandemic crap is done with) I really appreciate the information given. Looks rather like a PITA, but it's a VW! I like the car, so we're going to fix it.
Great video man! I really appreciate it! My daughter hit a deer in her beetle and busted up the front end and radiator. This video was really helpful. Thanks! PS- GREAT JOB JENNIFER! :)
thanks for the video, i had to replace my condenser, and radiator housing on my 2002 beetle tdi because i hit a raccoon, and this gave me the heads up on what was involved, took care of it today, Thanks again
Thanks for the video. I will be working on my daughter's 2002 VW beetle today. I plan on replacing upper and lower hose, as well as the fans. She damaged the front end in an accident (5-15 MPH and jacked up the front).
C 19 Hey Buddy, unfortunately yes but its not really that big of a job, it just seems like it is. You can get everything off in a couple of hours. If you need any help, just let me know.
Thanks for the video I got to do the same thing to my daughter car love those German cars I want to put her in a General Motors but her mother and cyst on her having this car 114000 miles and everything's deteriorating car always been on the west coast so I got to get started thanks for the video because she want her car back asap cuz she got to go to a party
It's not that bad of a job it does take a little time but you can take your time and get through it won't be any problems if you have any problems feel free to hit me up and thank you for the support by watching our videos we have brand new content coming out every week that'll help you or any car owner
I'm changing one a 1999 tomorrow, and I appreciate this video. So I just need a 10mm ,13mm, 18mm, and a t24 torx. The shop was gonna charge her $700 just for labor. So I figured 300 should be good?
I enjoyed watching your video. The reason I watched it, is because I was told that one would have to remove the bumper on my 2004 VW Beetle to remove the Headlight Assembly. True or False? Next part of my question... Could you remove the bumper without removing the Headlight Assembly? I recently had our car repainted and the excuse as to why they painted on my headlamps was that they didn't want to remove the bumper so they just taped around it. The driver side headlamp they didn't "set" it because they said that it wouldn't go in without removing the bumper. Thank you for your valuable time.
I have a 2003 New Beetle: primary fan has major short, want to swap it out for another non-VW fan I have laying around.... Is it better to pull radiator / fans as a single unit, install new fan, and reinstall radiator / fans ? Not much room behind radiator for my XXL hands. Tks.
@@jamiejonesthecarman thanks. Good to know, because I losing my mind trying to find it. With the beetle, I figured it might be under the driver's seat or something 😀
thanks for the video. I wish I would have finished watching it yesterday before I disconnected the AC line on the bottom of the radiator. now I know I need to take off that small screw and could have not touched the AC line. scared the hell out of me when it blow off....smh.....I knew better but was just annoyed with this damn car.
can I ask you something?....Why i don't have power on the cable on injection pump...dont start the pump ...I have alote of White smoke...and and stop the Machine when it's overheating...beetle 2001 turbo 2.0..thank you..
followed your video! perfect! THANK YOU! now I have question I see what appears to be an A/C radiator in tandom with coolant radiator is this a 1 radiator or 2 seperate parts to have to purchase?
Thanks 🙏 for the tutorial.... my radiator is gone in the same area I don't have it out yet but it seems the steel that crimps the rad together touches the aluminum of the fins ... and that produces electrolysis...seems strange that a modern rad that has only ever had antifreeze in it should suffer this problem but they only cost 50 60 bucks so armed with vid I will go for it .. cheers 🍻
thanks for this video man! I knew my radiator was missing something and i just couldn't figure out what it was.. seems like what i need is a "radiator support".. it all started cuz i just bought a beetle and it doesnt have a splash shield. therefore it'll turn off when it rained.. finally bought now and i coudlnt figure where it went.. i just knew i wasnt missing something but ddnt knw what. THE RADIATOR SUPPORT!! lol.. its 5am in tx and as soon as the sun comes out im out to the store.. hahaha..
Omar Flores LOL..good luck my man!! They are always tons of fun when you buy what you think is a whole car and it turns out that you only have 90% of the pieces. Haha, let me know how it worked out for you and if you need any help just let me know. Thanks for the comment and very happy to hear that the video helped you.
Well, mine would turn off cuz it didn't have the SPLASH SHIELD. The reason the shield wasn't there was because the radiator support wasn't there and the shield goes assembled into the radiator-support frame.. but you're radiator-support is fine you don't have worry about it.. just check for the splash shields.. there's one for the motor and one for the tranny I THINK. I'm a musician not a mechanic.. lol... but yeah, putting the splash shield on fixed it...
How much did it cost you to get it fixed? And is splash shield the technical term for it because I'm trying to find it online and I'm not finding it, but at least it's nice to find someone who has the same problem as I do haha
sure , everybody's working on their " daughter's car". just admit it is yours. come guys as soon as we come out and admit we love these cars the better everyone will be . lol, funny enough I have to replace the rad on a customers daughters car Hope to God I dont have to take the fender off

260.00 for spark plugs, 360.00 for a upper radiator hose does that sound right?
Good. Thanks friend.
+Jotarubis Rubis your welcome need any help let me know
hahaha some mechanics told me that it such a pain to replace the radiator on a beetle, i believe it now
