Hope to make my way there sometime in my life! Definitely seems like a beautiful and sorta underrated overseas territory! Maybe can get a ride from you farther’s Taxi!! ☺️🇹🇨
Nicely put together video and pleasingly positive. Glad you enjoyed your visit. Minor point: The name of the town (and capital of the TCI) may be spelt "Cockburn", but it's pronounced "Co-burn". I hope the cruise ship briefing got it right!
Stayed here for a week at a beach house. Enjoyed every minute of it. When the ships left we essentially had the whole beach to ourselves. Never felt unsafe but the locals will happily take advantage of you financially if you let them.
Very helpful! Thank you! I am also going there on the Mardi Gras next year and didn’t know what to expect. I usually choose not to stay on port so this was great information.
Congrats Ashley on your upcoming cruise. Hey we are going on Mardi Gras as well next year. On our 3rd reschedule so far lol. Yes Grand Turk is one of the safest places to visit. I wish all others were the same.
Grand Turk is my favorite island. The Scuba diving is arguably the best in the Caribbean, the water is usually Chrystal clear, and the locals are just amazing. I’m about to book my first flight down to Grand Turk to spend about a week. I’ve been a few times and have never felt unsafe. Here’s one thing you need to understand... outside the Tourist industry, Grand Turk has very few means of income. You can bet they know that they’re actions have a direct effect on the products and services sold to the visitors that arrive on their shores. Their only assets are the beach, the water and their people. I’m sure they are very aware of the fragility of their economy.
We have visited Grand Turk now for the 3rd time. You are correct in stating it is a safe place and the locals are very friendly. I was shocked the 1st time we went. I collect coins and banknotes from all over the world. I asked a shop keeper what currency did they use there and she told me it was the American $. They do not have their own currency. Prices on souvenirs are a little high in the port area but always barter. Its fun and you get to know the person a little bit. Don't forget to check out the massive pool at Margaritaville!! Its at the port side. Extremely great food and friendly people. Also, Ediths fish fry is awesome!! It was $7 for a plate full and came with sides. If you feel brave, try to grilled conch. Fantastic!
Thanks, Really nice video. I am considering traveling down town. I’ve Cruised there once on the Carnival Horizon, and will cruise there again on the Mardi Gras for Thanksgiving2022. I have been browsing all the excisions and still don’t know what to do.
Hey Ella, Thank you for your comment. Yes you should go into town really. There are no sky scrapers but the people are very friendly. Grand Turk has an almost zero crime rate so you will be safe in town and on your excursion. Thank you so much for watching and I hope both of your upcoming cruises are fantastic!! --Michael
Grand Turk Is NOT Carnival's private island. They built the port area. Go into Cockburn town and walk around. There are a few good restaurants with fresh seafood, great drinks and nice souvenirs at good prices. You will be missing out if you stay at the beach and the port area.
Grand Turk is one of thee best islands I’ve been to. Absolutely love the locals and their generosity with everything.
@Bina PGH, I agree one hundred percent! Thanks for sharing!! --Michael
The whole family is going there this fall. Can't wait!
"Cliffs Taxi" the best taxi driver to take you for a tour, he knows his island: My daddy💝. So happy you enjoyed our island home.

So many cruisers seem to look down on Grand Turk. This is a really nice review of a wonderful place.
@Rob Edin.. Thank you!!
The water is very clear unlike some other port of call beaches.

Good time at Grand turk
Thanks! Great share. How long did it take to go by taxi from the cruise ship tourist beach area to the downtown local's area?
@DAWNSTAROFDAVID.. Thanks!! It was about 10 or 15 minutes away. Not bad at all. You can still see the cruise ship from downtown.
Thanks! Valuable info. I'm definitely going downtown now. Happy cruising to you.
Michael is cool guy
I loved downtown grand Turk
@bpthe greatt.. I did too. I' so glad we went and can't wait to go back.
May I ask how can a foreigners engage business or work at Turks & Caicos Islands and sustain his livings please?
The friendliest people. They took me in on holiday 3 years ago and I still keep in contact with a few.
D’s fried chicken is the best in the world.
Is Cockburn not pronounced "coe-burn"?
Thanks for the information. I will be visiting Grand Turk in Dec 2019. I was wondering if it was more there than just Carnivals private island.
