I faced kinda similar thing, I'm designer with 3 years of experience still i was having difficulties. my boss was okay with it, but i felt bad about it, and i left my job.
its been 6 months. I'm not sure if I'll try something else or I'll take it as a break and Retry.

You can yes, but I would say it's less and less relevant due to Ai. I would look into mote corporate or marketing areas of design if I was starting out now
