Tbh lived in many english speaking countries..yet still cant get british humor.😂 I always feel this type of humor could be the causes of avoidable conflict or unecessary mental stress for others. My belief is deep down human nature craving for nice things/words in general ...life is harsh enough. As a chinese proverb goes: there is often truth in a joke
I get your thinking when you read the words and look at the illustration. For me, 'we are getting' in this context (in a pub or bar) could mean 'we are ordering'. The way we use that phrase in Australia is the same as the U.K. But either makes sense.
The British love puns and for some reason, they think they are very funny. I can understand puns but feel they are more like word games rather than amusing jokes.
I actually LOVE British Humor, especially Ricky Gervais. Also, some of my All-Time Favorite TV Shows/Series are British Comedy Shows/Series. For instance, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE Mr. Bean, Red Dwarf, Keeping Up Appearances, The IT Crowd, Black Books, Monty Python’s Flying Circus, etc.
