im with you i cant stand sheer dresses, even in the summer. it's 2024 we can have lightweight flowy and NOT sheer! lol. but these are beautful, i like the quinn best! great tips too on how the line works and no sales, etc. really helpful for me. ty doll
I've been wearing Doen since the beginning of the brand. Highly recommend! One of the few brands to use french seams in their construction - they are well made and worth the price. The designs have a timeless feminine appeal. Love the Quinn especially on you - purchase one of their nude slips for underneath the sheer dresses. I just picked up the Vita dress in their Hand Me Doen sale - you might like the style of that one for summer.
Would you buy the Quin right now? I would b/c it’s available in my size and never. Not sure if I should aim my money elsewhere. I have a bunch of doen stuff. Also looking at that heirloom white dress that’s like 500. I love mine too , like you, the mid- evil thing. Even though see through, I think I’d have to buy a breathable slip for under somewhere .Every time I see that dress I want to go to Paris. The Katherine dress i love it, and the Leanne too is stunning.I love them , they are exactly how you described. Love !
I do, too!!! I tried it on at Dôen’s West Village store but liked it less than the cotton version. It wasn’t as stiff, it draped more. It honestly felt like a totally different dress to me. I also felt the detailing was lost in the silk. That being said, it’s still a pretty dress
It's the fact that all of these look like they would fit a bigger bust with a small waist! I'm a size small with a C cup so I struggle sm with having to size up for my chest or stay tts to fit my waist 😭

@sofiamalinko Regarding Reformation: it obviously depends on the style, but they do have some models with a larger bust-to-waist ratio wearing the clothing... So maybe look out for the styles modelled by a model with a larger bust, and also look for styles that allow for some wiggle room, e.g. many viscose or linen dresses have a smocked back which seem to generally adjust well to larger busts. And the knit pieces are elastic, so that should work out fine anyway. Clothing cut on the bias (typically some slip dresses are made this way) is also more accommodating to the body than a normal garment, even if there is no smock/elastic part, and might fit a larger bust. N*rdstrom is a Ref stockist and they have reviews on their site, which can also give you some insights on the fit of certain pieces. I hope that helps!

Absolutely!! I wear size XS but in most brands I’m S. Also I’m 5’4”. Would definitely size down! I got one dress in S bc they didn’t have XS and it’s fine but prefer XS on myself

I don't mind the lower scoop in the neckline, even prefer it, but I don't want the dress to be bulky around the waist, so I wanted it to be tighter. I normally wear Medium, but there's only Large left so I'm puzzled
Honestly like once a month! I wear them a bunch of times before washing. I don’t really have BO tho. And I’ve never washed my nice clothing much. It’s not like a t-shirt where you need to wash it each time.

You can just wear beige seamless underwear, I do that to a lot of my linen pieces cause the're a bit sheer especially when they're white

It does feel a tad looser around the waist but not to the point where it isn’t fitted. It is still fitted and still fits well. That’s a tough call!

I hand wash them. It’s time consuming and tedious but I don’t want to throw these beautiful dresses in the washing machine
