    Lots of click bait titles are what you need. Mainly titles about how cheap things are, or plenty of travel videos around Thailand with titles like "Stay here for 10 dollars a night"

    The Thai girls tying food idea is golden. Food reaction videos! OMBuddha. One video a month! Worthy of Channel. Why do you think music reaction videos do so well although most are terrible? The translator, the reactor, and you, the protagonist. It's almost Shakespearean. On trial, Indian food, cultural bias, and maybe an unseasoned stomach's and colon's reaction also. (Follow up videos on digestibility? Less ratings but content to fill dead weeks.)

    Go your own way is best and more interesting to many of us. The bargirl/bar walkabouts are saturated for sure. Interesting discussion on your history and the algorithm complexities. Yes, I think the thumbnail photo, title, drawing people in is important. Yes I saw you making breakfast in a video. Good one
    Have thought about getting a Gopro or DJI and trying the walk and talk. Editing sounds like a lot of work is my excuse. 5555

      This is all filmed with a GoPro. When I film in my neighborhood, the edits are pretty quick. I use silence detection to make the first cut. What you don’t see is me stumbling on my words a lot. There’s some cuts there for sure. I also try to keep the background noise low. So when cars and motorbikes ride by, I usually shut up but their loud enough I can’t use the silence detection to delete those moments.

    Hello Pete.
    Greetings from Rome.
    Regarding your question to include b-roll content in your videos --> I would vote = yes.
    I like their artistic value and how it mixes up your content. I never speed through or skip your b-roll content.
    I did not even know what b-roll content was until I met you and you took the time to explain the b-roll content to me.
    Interestingly, I was able to reflect and identify that I enjoy TH-cam bloggers who use b-roll content in a strategic and artistic way --> more than TH-cam bloggers who don't - as I find those who don't to be more boring, and with their voice just droning on and on and on....the lack of b-roll content leads to less exciting and interesting content.

    Hey Pete, great video. A thought about the "upticks" past your B-roll segments. It might be your bookmarks/time codes. Even though FB and TubeBuddy says to put them, I found that if I put too many, people will skip ahead and it cuts down on actual watch time. Maybe give it a test and reduce how many you're using then see what happens. Maybe we can grab a coffee when I'm back there in September.

    • @peteonretreat2023
      @peteonretreat2023  ปีที่แล้ว

      You’re most likely right and I’ve thought about that too. Those upticks were all the start of a new segment. I’ll try messing with those in some videos and see what happens. Interestingly, they have seemed to help increase the view percentage at the end Ben with the skipping but that could also just be the video content. I’d live to grab a coffee! 🙏🏼 ☕️ 🇹🇭

      My Bangkok knowledge is non existent. I haven’t spent a single night there but, I’m in my third city in Japan currently and each place I just google “best areas to stay in…” Then I pick one that seems to fit me. I know Bangkok has a ton of variety. I have a friend that stays in an older artsy area that historically has been of lower quality but is now more gentrified, hip and younger. He loves it. Then there’s the various party areas… I think there’s a couple that are by far the most popular. Then there’s the more local areas and probably some more “cultural” areas with museums and such. The one thing that I do know is that if you want to go around Bangkok, stay close to a rail station. I’d guess anywhere central would be.

      My biggest surprise was just how much western food is around in Pattaya. I shouldn’t have been surprised because of its huge tourist and expat numbers but I really expected to be mostly eating Thai food living here. It probably only makes up 40-50% of my diet.
