Do you think it's better to do it with or without the lip installed? I figured without, but from your video it seems like it's easier to get good leverage if the lip is fixed into place.

Thanks for watching! If you work quick, you won’t have to worry about lift lines. Lift lines only become a problem for me when I’m lifting some film that’s been down for sometime. Hope this helps
If you squeegee over the tack, you have only a few mins to lift it. If you have just sprayed but haven't squeegeed over, you will be fine for longer. I use 20% tack solution.

The slip solution is check out www.fusion tint tools.com and look for Fusion All Type, slip solution. The tack solution is a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water. The ratio I use is 70% water to 30% isopropyl alcohol.

No, definitely not! My first bumper wasn’t that great. At that time I didn’t know anything about how much you can stretch the film, how to properly post heat to prevent fingers popping up etc.

When you notice the film tacking too soon, you need to be using more slip solution. Once you’ve got more slip, things will work much better. What brand film did you use?

Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo for slip solution and isopropyl alcohol for tack solution. Mixture ratio is all dependant on temperature and humidity.
I just got a 2021 hyundai elantra, i looked on expl's site and they don't offer a pre cut kit yet for the new body style. I see you can order by the length and width. I'm looking to do front bumper and mirrors. Any help on measurements on how I should order. Also cutting to fit is a little sketchy I assume.

When you unroll your pattern like that without spraying the actual film at all, is there a chance it could leave glue lines? So as long as the panel is completely sprayed down, and even tho your films adhesive is dry, and after you unroll it then just lift it up and spray everything down and proceed with the install and it won't leave any glue lines? I'm just curious because usually I take my pattern off my peel board and spray it down before installing. I've never tried reverse unrolling it like that so I was curious about potential glue lines. Thanks.
I never get glue lines cause I don’t stick it to the panel for very long or stick it down hard or anything like that. If I left it for an hour or so, you’d definitely get lines left behind.
Fingers will come from not stretching the film to the end of the bumper. Any time you have fingers you have too much film in that area and that film needs to be evenly distributed out
@@DriveProtected will give it a shot. We were doing 50/50 abd it just want working well so we tried using straight water to flush out soap suds and that has been the best we tried so far
When you have the alcohol mixture too strong, you end up burning the adhesive under the film. I wouldn’t go anymore than 30% alcohol on a tack solution.

It’s highly recommended. It’s an extra form of insurance to ensure the film isn’t going to lift up.

Yes, that tack ratio will work. Also yes, use tack wherever you can for a better bond between the PPF and the film.

I still get fingers on the top corner on lower bumper and I hate that.
