  • Silent Hill 1 - PS1 - Hard Mode Walkthrough Part 1 - Full Gameplay Playthrough - Save Cybil Good+ Ending / Final Boss / Credits, And Bloopers
Harry Mason returns to Silent Hill for a first ever experience on hard mode. Never played a Silent Hill game before on hard difficulty. Balance can always be a challenge for game devs, and hard modes tend to be often a afterthought of sorts, so I didn't want to dirty my experience with this horror game masterpiece that I hold dear. But, I have beaten the game enough now to where I feel prepared for a more difficult adventure. Thankfully, that theory turned out true. I had a lovely ride with Silent Hill's hard mode, and I come away from this first entry in the famous foggy franchise feeling achievement and success.
Silent Hill is one of the best survival horror series' in gaming. At least, the original 3 Silent Hill titles. Each of the three offer elements and excitement, sadness, and confusion different from each other. Silent Hill 1, the only Silent Hill on the original Playstation One, offers a more grim look to the town than Silent Hill 2 does, and a focus more on the town its self over personal issues as found with James and Silent Hill 3's Heather. With dark rooms, blood on walls, unsettling locations, and that beautiful rusty look; Silent Hill 1 is such a powerful, and visually iconic art piece, that goes further than most game developers can take their world building, making Silent Hill stand the test of time and continue to create new fans of the Silent Hill franchise, despite Konami doing decades of damage to the series with one milked and poorly designed game or gambling machine, and even bad movies. Unlike Resident Evil, Silent Hill found its self risk of falling into the void of life.
Thankfully, the original 3 games in the series are so wonderfully grafted that they managed to keep the idea of a new, possibly good game in peoples thoughts. In an era where Resident Evil has returned somewhat to its more horror focused roots, and Alan Wake 2 being heavily inspired by Silent Hill, there's hope that we can see a revival of this wonderful foggy town someday.
Hard Mode was a lot of fun. Minus the last boss, whose always a pain in the neck, I had a exhausting, yet peaceful playthrough. Almost at a level where I understand Silent Hill 1 inside out, without fear of getting lost too long, or stuck fighting enemies, I made this walkthrough with the company of the Twitch chat, as we strolled through the town and it's decaying buildings and structures enjoying casual conversation while solving riddles, puzzles, and talking about what makes Silent Hill so lovely to return to.
Harry Mason being one such reason I return to the original Silent Hill. I love his personality, and his strong will to rush head first into chaos and demon filled buildings to find his daugther. Harry doesn't care about Silent Hill's cults, its history, or anything that stands in his way of getting Cheryl back. She is his one concern. That passion, that love for his daughter makes him a protagonist you can't help but root for. And knowing Harry's destiny later in life... i'm just grateful that Silent Hill, while story heavy, doesn't try to get my immersion and connection with Harry Mason any deeper than it already is. I would be an emotional mess. What a great guy to inspire.

Silent Hill is a 1999 survival horror game developed by Team Silent, a group in Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo and published by Konami. The first installment in the video game series Silent Hill, exclusive for the PlayStation. To mitigate limitations of the console hardware, developers used fog and darkness to muddle the graphics and the pop-ins, which in return helped set up the atmosphere and mystery of the game. Unlike earlier survival horror games that focused on protagonists with combat training, the player character of Silent Hill is an everyman.
The game follows Harry Mason as he searches for his missing adopted daughter in the eponymous fictional American town of Silent Hill; stumbling upon a cult conducting a ritual to revive a deity it worships, he discovers her true origin. Five game endings are possible, including one joke ending.
Silent Hill received positive reviews from critics on its release and was commercially successful. It is considered by many to be one of the greatest video games ever made, as well as a defining title in the survival horror genre, as it moved away from B movie horror elements toward a more psychological horror style, emphasizing atmosphere. Various adaptations of Silent Hill have been released, including a 2001 visual novel, the 2006 feature film Silent Hill, and a 2009 reimagining of the game, titled Silent Hill: Shattered Memories. The game was followed by Silent Hill 2 in 2001, and a direct sequel, Silent Hill 3, in 2003.

Thank you for watching Silent Hill on hard mode. I learned a little more about this game and its story this run, making SH1 fill more complete than I expected. Had a blast playing this as always. Silent Hill continues to be one of the greatest atmospheres in video games.

Yes, for sure! Very much inspired by Resident Evil, but Silent Hill is more focused on the horror elements and atmosphere. If you like Resi, you gotta try Silent Hill! :D
I love Tenchu, and it will be returning to my channel for new runs.
