Mifune was a great actor who eventually believed his own bullshit. By the 80s, he really thought himself a samurai lol. He had to schooled by Top Shihan in Aikido and Kenjutsu that He was just an Actor. He refused to be choreographed by a Gaijin. Until he was set straight. Mifune held no official rank in Kendo, Kenjutsu or Aikido.
Fun fact; Steven Seagal Choreographed the fight scenes in The Challenge. Since Steven also studied sword fighting techniques in Japan. He must have Choreograped that too. His name is in the end credits.
this is a great movie thanks.
I'm glad this popped up on my feed. Everytime I tried to search for what this movie was called, the Tom Cruise movie always came up.
viva toshiro mifune
My favorite Toshiro Mifune film will always be Yojimbo.
He was pretty good in The Challenge as well.
I love the part where he brought both swords to his master. This is such an underrated movie.
Best sword fight
This scene always makes me hungry, like splitting a pineapple and chowing down.
2:00
4:12 nice swing!!!
Young Stick
Stick before he trained Daredevil.
happend this real?why? did video really died?
hideo
Yes
I also would like to say it almost seems that he is pulling a rope a dope on this guy. Seems likely considering he is supposed to be a boxer.
How uncivilized...
This is awful and badly staged. I will see this movie.

Why didn't you wait until the master got the 2 swords? Baka!
