I got the full Jazz pack...man what a fantastic range of songs (I think there are 40 or so) with easy to read tab, but they are accessible, not too hard yet sound very authentic and jazzy! Got me playing and practicing again!! Thanks Sandra!!
Love this tune! Your arrangement is perfect as always. Every time I here this song, in my mind, I hear George Burns singing it off key in his raspy voice. You're cranking out the videos the last couple weeks. I really dig it, and appreciate all of the hard work you put in for us wanna be jazz players.
Absolutely superb lesson! Sandra your organization, demeanor, videography, lesson, the individual chords and notes are wonderful and well explained. I not only am learning the song, I am learning how to improve as a jazz musician. Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us.
This is excellent! You are a great guitar teacher. Thank you. I have never been a jazz musician, so when I want to learn a Jazz tune I have trouble arranging it on my own. The jazz chord progressions do not come naturally to my ear. Thank you again for this lesson. It’s the best😃
Thank you so much for this brilliant (and brilliantly explained) lesson. If you're open to requests, please do a chord melody lesson for "These Foolish things." Thanks.
hi sandra im always follow your guitar lesson everytime i open my laptop so much happy what ive learn from you i just have a special request the song acoustic style hotel california i hope you can play this one for and i know that so much people well love to learn this song so thanks for eveything you give us God blessed
A great lesson as always - I mean really great! I hope you are getting some good jazz jams somewhere! I would love to see your take on 'Moanin' , the Jazz Messengers version - the chord structures mainly, I think I have got a handle on the pickup at the beginning. Anyway, many thanks for the lessons!! X Bill.
Ha, I just tried to put Moanin into a chord melody tune, without TH-cam make me take it down for copyright infringement. Didn't work out too well, lol. Thank you Arthur for your very nice compliment. That's food for my soul ❤️
But this includes the melody. When backing a sober you should play the chords only, without the melody. You could play this as an intro, though, or add the beginning of a chord solo.
Thanks so much! You can always request songs. Just write it in any comment section of my videos. Can't promise to play every requested song, but alot of dreams have already become true ;-)
Been hitting the Schnapps for the extended summer, hey, Sandra? Bit hard to speak this time. Ha ha ha ha. Just kidding. ;-) Hope you're enjoying the warm days for now. :-)
Guitarversum Sandra Sherman Ha ha. We have something in common. I don't drink any alcohol at all either. :-) Btw, Do you have a website or just Facebook and this channel? (I don't do personal Facebook) I have some information to send you directly.
At the very beginning of the demo, around 3:20, I keep hearing an Eb that is an octave lower than anything in your chord, which is a G shape in the 8th fret. How do I get this very low bass note?

I've run out of accolades for you. So I'll just say... Thanks, and I hope your efforts are as good for you as they are for me.Now if I could only find the time.
Sorry for the late answer. Your message was in the YT spam folder (for explicit words, lol). Thanks so much Abe. You always have such nice words for me. You're a beautiful soul!
Guitarversum Sandra Sherman Explicit words? That's incredibly funny. Accolades? Good for you and me? With all the uproar about social media etiquette, and antisocial venom on the internet, my harmless words are redacted? I sure hope this reply meets appropriate standards. Anyway, thanks for all as I continue to add your lessons to my "to do" list.
Greetings from Australia Sandra. I have a question. Why do you call the Bbm11 chord in bar 3 a minor chord when there is no third instead of a Bb (dom) 11 as it's the 5 chord in Eb. Thanks again. Great song. Great lesson. 🎸
😎 Thanks Sandra, I can accept that . I know heaps of normal theory and teach it, but jazz is something else!! Can you recommend any good theory videos?Been listening to Jens Larsen, who is brilliant, but it sounds like Martian to me 🤣
I have tabs to purchase. I can't show the chords, bc they change even within a chord and sometimes aren't even regular chords due to different melody notes on top of them.
Hi Sandra, I know you're planning on doing a video series on building chord melody tunes in the near future. What can you tell me about the course--how many videos, when you plan to start them, etc.? Thanks, Bert
I bought this full package expecting that there would be one backing track with YOU playing along, but all I got was the GP midi play along!? What gives?
Sorry to hear you don't like the backing track so much. It's the exact same backing track as in the video, though. So you knew what you were getting. It's not a Midi backing track btw and not a Guitar Pro backing track. How can you even make backing tracks with Guitar Pro? The horn section may sound a little cheesy, bc I mixed it very quietly so it doesn't interfere with your playing along to it.
@@GuitarversumSandraSherman No need to get snarky about it, I was just asking! btw I love what you do. If that makes you feel better. I'll go hide my head in shame now.

That's because I DO play the Eb note on the 11th fret on the low E string 😊. The low sound is probably just a lower resonance from the guitar.
