I'll be honest, I didn't know the tarot cloth, the deck of cards, or the magic 8 ball counted towards the unlocking of planetariums. Tbh I'm kinda miffed now, cause I've had so many runs with Magic 8 Ball and Tarot Cloth in my inventory, but never got a third piece of the puzzle.

It basically describes items as best as it can, and is usually recommend for new players so they can understand the stats and info of certain items. You can add the mod from the steam workshop if you're on PC. If you're on console, bad luck. EID let's you know if an item will give a damage up, if it will heal you or drop items and such. It'll let you know how the item works if it has a unique function. And of course, it lets you know what items increase planetarium chances.
A little tip : During your run, you get +25% chance of planetarium if you go to the next floor without entering the tresur room. You can still have the bonus if you use the magic hour glass to get out of the room and go to the next floor. Hope it was usefull 😄 Edit : it's actually 20% my bad
Do this when going beast route. Skip treasure rooms to get planetarium and then during the ascent, you can revisit the skipped treasure room and get the item
Also a little tip for any beginners, at the end of your level run go back to the shop and see if anything's worth it, as well as always blow up special rocks and check walls with four joining rooms
And also need to remember, that obstacles (absolutely any) are never blocking entrance to the room. Secret rooms are no exception. And to give an example, it's easier to find secret room in early floors, than on later ones (some don't even have any secret rooms whatsoever). And if you want to find super secret rooms, keep in mind, normal secret rooms need 2 rooms minimum attached, while super secret rooms cannot attach to more than 2 rooms.
You should get it, the game with all of the DLCs (I very much recommend getting them all for the best experience) is 50 bucks, still less than most modern games without the DLCs, and it has hundreds or even thousands of hours of possible playtime with a shit ton of replayability. Easily my favorite game of all time, even if I don’t play it that much anymore.

this is as beginner friendly as it gets. checking the shop as much as possible is like literally one of the most basic things you can do in the game so it's kind of impossible to be more beginner friendly
Unfortunately if you're looking for a near-guaranteed way to unlock Planetariums, not really. But thankfully if you play the game normally you will eventually get this unlock naturally! If you want to try and get planetariums quickly without messing with Greed mode, consider playing Isaac and aggressively rerolling shop/treasure room items for a higher chance of astrology themed items. The item Chaos mixes all item pools, and Eden can start with most items in the game, even one's you haven't unlocked yet!
