    The simplest way to explain fog difference is thus: Units "remember" what they saw during the entire turn. In awbw, they forget.

    31:40 while a SCOP is charged, your CO zone is wider, by 1 tile at 50% and 2 tiles at 100%, so holding a power is quite normal in DOR, especially for a CO with a strong D2D like Tabitha, Brenner or Waylon.

    Red definately wiffed one of the fundamentals of advanced wars. Do not fight in range of your opponents bases unless you have a crushing victory. Their early game advantage was so crushing that if they had backed off for a few turns and just let the quality units catch up and consolidated just a little bit, they would've won.
    Which isn't to discount Chan's victory at all, they fought really hard to get a fighting chance and executed magnficant menvouers during the later game. It's a good example of perseverance really paying off and a fantastic demostration of the promotion, just Nick did leave that door to victory wide open.

      Bikes do 35% so three will one-round it if you can surround it. That's a little impractical though. The real nightmare scenario is when one bike chips it to 6 or 7 HP, then a tank swaggers in and wins 7-4 or 8-3.
      @Cheems-lm2nv

    Ah Chantcho, hes a regular. Played with him when I started and still find him.
    1200 rating is actually the starting rating in tinywars if I remember correctly, but the smaller playerbase makes it so people just play for fun anyway and that's all that matters.
    But this game also highlights how army value can be misleading in days of ruin, veterancy and the CO unit zones twist the value around, a bunch of high tier units in a zone will not care of your higher value since they individually become juggernauts.

    Just an FYI Deejus Brenner popping his power at the end of the turn is actually not a bad play. You're going to have engagements like infantry vs infantry and tank vs tank where your units will take some damage, and with Brenner you can top all your units off at the end of the turn to get the most value out of his power.

    Very interesting - somehow I completely forgot about the FOW difference between Dark Conflict and the Wars World trilogy.
    The Implication is that in the WWT, units can only collect intel while standing still and are blinded while moving, and the entire game space moves so fast that after you've moved, the intel you "held" from your previous position is unreliable and useless. Whereas in DC, collecting vision and maintaining intel is much easier, allowing units to passively and automatically rack it up while moving, and it isn't until a whole day has gone by that this information expires.

    I do not mind antitanks and don't think they're OP per se. They are great at dealing with tank spam and very exploitable by infantry units and slow, seems like a fair defensive unit to me. AWBW tanks are OP IMO, you have arty and mechs if you get tank swarming you... which is yeah, shitty. The tank specialists (Max, Jess) have to have weird ass cons just to compensate as well that never felt right even though I like their movement powers(GIVE US DS JESS PLEASE). Having more tanks in the field is just usually the strategy for AWBW and trying other stats doesn't work out vs tank spam. Tiny Wars just leaves for more unit variety and punishing tank spam and aggressiveness. Also, TW tanks can actually go up against M tanks now, which is a cool change as well.
    Thanks for covering TW again, I'll try playing on there!

      @@alexisbaz8746 I am aware and that is indeed cool as cool can be. I'm overall more interested in Wars' World mechanics that DC's, but opening up the space of existing subvariants in any format would be a simple and fruitful blessing to the community.
      Some more examples:
      - The WWT and DC have different units, terrain and base mechanical rules (Fog, how defense is calculated). It would be great if players / mapmakers could mix-and-match these, so say implement DC's terrain on a map with Wars's World's Fog.
      - Some CO's have had a lot of variety in their expression over the years, like Eagle and Drake. Each incarnation has its ups and downs. For these COs, a "best-of" and "worst-of" variant would be fun and add some more variety to the tiers.
      - I am not an expert on the Nintendo Wars series pre-AW, but there are some great ideas from the Famicom and Game Boy Wars series(es) and some forward porting would be great.

    -One more important change to Days of Ruin is that defense is multiplicative rather than additive - stacking 100% defense doesn't make your units invincible, each number is subtracted from the last and the next calculation is based on that number. So for example Forsythe's unit within CO zone (20% def), standing on a forest (30% def) and having veteran bonus (20% def) has 55% defense, not 70% (100 - 20% = 80 - 30% = 56 - 20% = 44,8). Alternatively, you can count it as (20 - 0%) = 20 + (30 - 20%) = 44 + (20 - 44%) = 55. The only exception seems to be Waylon's CO power which states it grants 270% defense to air units, when in reality it multiplies his CO zone defense bonus by 270%, resulting in 81% defense.-
    Nevermind, it's not quite correct. Tldr is that defense stacking is way less effective than in AWBW, even less than I made out to be.
    You can't buy CO unit, you make a unit a CO once it's built and is standing on a base or HQ by paying half the cost of that unit - so CO tank will cost you 10,5k in total, not 3,5k, that would be dumb. Holding a power here is not completely silly, it stays at 5 range, and since red is tossing his units into a grinder, pretty much all relevant fights happened in CO zone anyway.
    I'd like to see more Tiny Wars for sure.

    • @qzecwx
      @qzecwx หลายเดือนก่อน

      Whoa. Where'd this math come from?
      AWBW is the one that's multiplicative. After your attack bonuses are applied you multiply by (1-Def bonus). So when you encounter +100 defense, you multiply by 0.
      DoR uses division. 200 defense means you divide by 2. Wingman divides by 4.1. And so on.

    • @Xertaron.
      @Xertaron. หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@qzecwx Huh, that does seem to be the case. I don't know if I misremembered it from DoR or if I just assumed that's how it works, but at least in TW it does work like you said it does.

    DoR? That's suprising. I stopped playing because I think the CO mechanics are inferior to those of the OG triology. It's a rather snowbally/stally gameplay or endless brawling without Terrrain gains.
    However I prefer the setting much more compared to the OG-Trio and the other mechanics + units are really awesome for the most part.
    Luckily there is the Experimental version of Tiny wars wich brings the best things together - the new units and the Old CO mechanics.

    • @Zer0billion
      @Zer0billion หลายเดือนก่อน +9

      It's completely the opposite unless you aren't playing right.
      Localized Co zones means you always have an area of advantage over an opponent regardless of matchup, with stronger D2Ds overall that let you push fronts harder. Power gain mechanics only reward you for killing units and actually advancing, in Trilogy, you literally get more charge for losing, and on a global scale, with no way to remove charge (unlike killing a co unit in DOR) leading to the losing player being able to retaliate with more power or of course just using a global damage and instantly leveling the playing field after you were just losing...
      Not to mention the infantry cost nerf severely lessens the ridiculous infantry wall spam you see in Trilogy AW.
      I can't possibly imagine how your games are ending up more stally than in trilogy unless you're intentionally playing that way.

      2. Yes power gain is only via killing units in DoR, that's what I mean with snowball mechanic. And if the killing doesn't work, wich it shouldn't if the oppponent is comptent to cover your CO zone or threaten to kill ur CO in return if you try to get charge, it becomes a stallfest. Not to mention the benefit of leveling units for killing other.
      3. You mean in trilogy you can lose a ton of units for charge and you are in a good position to retaliate? Are you serious?! And now imagine you can even remove the charge from your opponent after a decisive strike. Talking about snowballing.
      4. Now Infantry spam, you are funny. Like it's not becoming a mech spam in DoR until so many are on the field that your can barely move Tanks effectively wich again goes toward stalling matches. Do you realize that how much of a difference it is when the cost for infantry goes from 1000 to 1500 AND at the same time the cost for mechs go to 2500 from 3000?
      In trilogy a mech costs 3x as much as a infantry in DoR not even 2x as much - that is an insane difference! DoR Infantry is almost useless compared to mechs and bikes.
      Not to mention that it isn't even true that trilogy has infantry spam?! Maybe in the first turns, yeah, but after it goes 50:50 Infantry - Vehicles. Sometimes with a late Airport or said is in a bad position 2 vehicles 1 infantry more often, on most maps.
      5. Yes of course, I intentionally play not right and try to stall (sarcasm).

      @@adept7497hilarious that everything you said is completely wrong lol. You’re literally the definition of those stubborn players who complain about some of the old mechanics but refuse to change them because you suck.
      Actual skill issue lol. Stay bad scrub.

      @@adept7497 Ok, wow, this random sudden hostility really says a lot about you, but I'll answer you anyway.
      1: Firstly, I am currently the top 5 ranked player on the Tinywars leaderboard. I REALLY do not like playing the rank card, but if you're gonna just tell me I am bullshitting than ok. I'm pretty sure you don't get this far by not knowing how to play the fucking game.
      Ranked maps are all rotationally symmetrical which typically have a strong front and weak front, just like AWBW. If CO's are facing each other, that would mean one player is attempting to push on their weak front, which is absolutely not the norm, even in Trilogy AW.
      CO vs CO can happen on maps that feature a strong center, or don't have a clear difference between the strong and weak side.
      2: Are you acting like engagements never happen or something? I have never seen power charge get stalled out that easily, especially when the entire point of the CO is to give you an advantage in the area. It isn't difficult to get picks and make sure your CO doesn't die. Just as your opponent is "comptent" enough to cover your zone you should be able to know where they can hit you. Putting your co in range for your infantry to pick off a single opponent infantry is an easy 10 charge with little commitment and not putting anything too valuable in range to get retaliated on.
      3: Yes, I am completely serious, Deejus even mentioned this in his videos before, expressing frustration that him winning allows his opponent to get global damage quickly and turn the tide when they were losing. I'm gonna go ahead and make the assumption that he is probably a better player than you, sorry not sorry.
      4: I have not once seen mech spam in ranked. Nothing more to say to this really.
      5: Turning to snarky remarks is a good way to show you are frustrated and losing an argument.

      @@Zer0billion I'm not hostile, I'm adressing that you are an arrogant piece of shit, coming in here with zero information and telling me that I don't know to play while I would be still on place 16 in this deadass game, even tho I did not play for a long time and in AWBW were easily top 100 for standard or even top 30 sometimes,
      while never even playing meta CO's. But certainly don't know how to play and pull everything out of my a$$. From my knowledge, you don't even play in AWBW or is the "Zerobillion" your main account, in that case what a pathetic attempt to pull the ranked card, being not even 900 MMR there.
      Look I'm a friendly dude, but if an absolute douchebag comes in and telling me I don't play right, only because I see things different than them, I just point it out.
      No problem, is there?
      Now to the topic or rather the nonsene that is still coming from you:
      You don't have a choice for the most part, you have to react to the enemy CO-Unit. One of the players depending on the CO and/or TO has the initiative.
      Front switches are done easily with a single Unit, given it's a tank or copter. Also no one said you have to push with the CO zone on the weakside, it can just be to defend a push.
      I clearly saw how easy it is to get picks with ur CO zone from ur games I briefly watched.
      My eyes still need recover from what you tried vs Plague and yukikaze in ur last standard matches.
      Also no games I saw from you whrer CO-Units are on opposite fronts, rather the opposite occuring.
      I have no Idea how you see easy infantry pick-off in the zone of your opponent who is closer to his supply lines, you must be talking about the early game.
      Coming up with the argument Deejus is frustrated from global damage who probably enjoys it just as much using it. What kind of argument is this coming up with global damage. What does it have to do with anything I compared about power mechanics in two different games? You still can't waste units just for fun into auto-win?! And then the audacity mentioning he is probably a better player, another mindless assumption. Wich is actually true, Deejus is higher ranked. But that doesn't mean automatically what I have to say is worthless?!
      Not seen mech spam? Great, I also have never seen Infantry spam in ranked. So what?!
      Look this is all very amusing and such, but the truth is you feel triggered. Else you wouldn't even have responded to my comment, wich is a harmless opinion - of worth or not doesn't really matter now - you came to with the unreasonable assumption, I wouldn't know how to play the game, without any prvocation from me. Shows what a Jackass you are and how much you thinking, you and your opinions being of higher values than others just because you actively play a dead game.
      I tell you, I don't need to show you ANYTHING or win an argument, as you describing it. Opinions don't automatically matter. You can just be lucky that I even respondend to you arrogant bullshit. It's pure kindess I show here to an Idiot like you.
