I think RAM can be upgraded. Laptop comes with 4GB soldered RAM and a 4GB on a RAM slot. The 4GB on the slot can be replaced with a 8GB RAM. The maximum RAM supported on the slot is obly 8GB. So the overall memory this system can handle is 4GB+8GB =12GB. But after dedicated graphics memory allocation effective RAM available to the user will be around 9.8GB. That's the maximum RAM this system can have which is very less for today's standards. Recently I bought a Lenovo thinkbook with 8GB RAM. After allocating 2.2GB of graphics memory the available RAM is only 5.8GB. While opening 7 to 8 tabs in Edge browser RAM usage go above 5GB leaving me with only less than 800MB of free memory. But on Thinkbook memory can be upgraded to more than 8GB.
