For US to help in the WPS, Philippines has to ask for help. Those are the rules. Its the Philippine politicians fault becauae they dont even want to consider American assistance. They would rather the country get bullied and make posturing statements but suffer embarrassment over and over because they dont have the courage of their conviction to assert their sovereignty. Let's do this, the Philippines should have a plebiscite and the U.S. push the issue in the U.S. Congress. Both countries have to work to deal with their respective government.
The U.S. and the Philippines have had a treaty since I was born. Why do we need to fool around, and why not put the Philippines in the protectorate of the United States? Same as Guam, the Mariana Islands, Wake Island, Puerto Rico, Virgin Island "without joining the Union of the United States".
THIS IS HOW THE UNITED STATES CAN LEGALLY AND USE THE TREATY ULTIMATELY.
IF this happens, China knows it's the jurisdiction of the United States to protect and defend the Philippines.

Resupplying missions with US assistance is a waste of time as the Blockade is the issue here, China will not back down despite condemnations from every country. They are making an example out of us, assistance or not, I think conflict is inevitable and we are not prepared.
US Whitehouse declared that the incudent of 6.17 at South China Sea where Philippines tried to smuggle 7 pcs rifles and building material to the grounded junk vessel which had been sitting there for 25 years, WOULD NOT TRIGGER the activation of the mutual defense agreement signed in 1951. US State Department clarified that the territory of the Phillipines was limited to the territory acquired by the US after the war with Spain in 1898. Any territory which Philippines claimed and became a dispute with other country would not be covered by thia territory. So China PLA Navy will clobber the Filipino provocation without worrying US revenge. With the 6.15 China Coast Guard regulation became effective, China will show its teeth and crush the Filipino provocation.

Hearing from a maritime security expert gives us a glimpse of how the US behaves in this dilemma. Hoping our nation will have security and allow us to reclaim our sovereignty. Hoping that we, Filipinos will help our government to stand for what's ours.

The best way for Philippine is to negotiate with China and reach an agreement as the other ASEAN countries did, don't rely on US and they not support and they could only make the things complex and worse. Getting into the war is not what Philippine want.
