Aww. My Heart. When Stephen says: “My Love.” They’re such a Breathtakingly Beautiful couple. You can tell how deeply in love they are with each other. 🥹💜
We were at the taping of this show, and let me tell you, this video doesn’t come close to showing the love these 2 have. The interaction they have on and off tape, is spectacular!!
Not seeing Evie next to Stephen every day was one of the reasons I was sad when quarantine ended. They played off each other so well and you could see the love they have for each other radiating from both of them. Truly relationship goals. I'm glad she's still on the show sometimes 💜
She was his audience during those troubling times, and we loved every single second of them together that we could get. They truly were one of the brightest spots in a dim year for a lot of people.
Evie and I studied acting together at Circle-in-the-Square, and when we had a class reunion about five years ago, she couldn't remember my name, so she bought me a drink. Nice lady. Also, I agree with Stephen 100% about taking the tails off the shrimps, especially in fancy restaurants. This is a big pet peeve of mine, too. They devein them, remove the heads and shells, so how hard could it be to take off the tails?
Wait, we don't eat shrimp tails? Yes the meatier upper portion is superior, but there's a lot more to the shrimp & in my experience, most people DO eat the tail.
Wait, we don't eat shrimp tails? The meaty portion is far superior, but in my experience (w/deep fried shrimp, at least) most people DO eat the tail. Having worked as a cook prepping shrimp, it's true that the shells are removed along w/the veins (except when they veins are not removed which happens more than one might care to imagine) and the tails are left intact. This may be in part because the tail makes handling them a little easier for some, but it's more likely that many people enjoy consuming the tails or perhaps save them for later use in preparing, for example, some kind of stock. That being said, except in the case of deep-fried shrimp, the tales are generally not eaten so the question as to why they aren't removed is absolutely valid.
LOVED it when. Evie said, "Are you going to go on a rant?" And then, Stephen goes on a rant. Yes, Stephen is a little bossy in the kitchen. I LOVE Stephen, but just look at any cooking demos, even with Chef Andres!😂❤😂❤❤ LOVE the two of them together!! Best to all!! Cheers!!
Best cooking demonstration ever; complete with humor, love and hot butter on $5K suit. Served with a side of snark about shrimp tails in pasta (so true). No pretense just fun. Bravo.
i love them to bits but ngl, i expected the money from the book to go to charity, and was a tad bit disappointed I didn’t hear something along those lines.
@@aggy5372Lobster shells have a lot of flavor but you don’t leave them crushed up in the bisque. You strain them out. Lots of things have flavor but get removed - bay leaves, vanilla pods, bones. There is zero reason except laziness to not remove a shrimp/prawn tail.
These two make fantastic TV together. If they had a cooking show, I’d watch it. They should definitely consider teaming up for some thing on a regular basis. They’d be fantastic together.
Whenever Evie makes an appearance on Stephen's show, it's always entertaining. You can tell the love and affection between them. Evie is just beautiful and funny. She's Stephen's best asset, and he knows it!
Glad to come across this video. Beauuuuuueful couple ❤. Love watching Steve every morning. It brightens my morning. Thanks Sir❤. Love to your beautiful wife❤
Not a perfect relationship but a healthy one. I really love their interactions and Evie is a Jewel. We need more of this in our lives and less pretending to be perfect
I moved to Europe a few years ago, and the food here is freaking amazing. But I can NOT stand how everything with shrimp comes with the freaking tails on it.... I love shrimp, but now I've learned I have to decide how much work I feel like doing before I order.
I think it is so beautiful that he can stand toe to toe with world leaders and A-list celebrities, yet he still melts like a school child when he's with his beatiful wife. I love them both!!!
I'm very curious about future President 🤞 Harris' brisket recipe. Doug compared it favorably to his grandmother's, which is high praise indeed. I'd love to see the official Harris/Walz campaign recipe as developed in real time on the Late Show
I would love a regular weekly show of Mr and Ms Colbert. I don’t care if they cook, discuss the merits of solar power or clean out the garage, it would be a delight!
Stephen, At least they Don't Leave the Heads on. Evie, Collard Greens Done Right are absolutely amazing, I hope you included Fried Okra, Okra Succotash, and Southern Biscuits. God Bless you both, it tickles my heart to see your love for each other.
Evie shines so bright whenever she's on your show, and you two have some of the best chemistry I've ever seen between spouses. It's why when I heard you two were writing a book, I preordered it immediately. I've since found out that I'll be moving to a different city to live on my own within the next month. "Does This Taste Funny" will be my very first cookbook as a first-time kitchen-haver. I can't wait to be able to use your recipes and to have some of Stephen and Evie's light in my home. :)
I had the biggest crush on Stephen Colbert for 20 years. After watching the show during Covid, I developed a crush on Evie, forget about Stephen! Love Evie to pieces and to see them together is pure JOY and LOVE! They are a true "Ever After" couple! ❤
... "if the party is good enough, youre sticking around for breakfast!" True southern :) with a smidgeon from all over in a loving way ❤ love it! Thanks
Evie, you are *the* definition of a class act. I saw you two discussing the cookbook on a certain person’s show. If someone treated me like that on her show in front of a live studio audience, I don’t know what I would do.
I work in a bookstore in australia and I am so hoping this book gets an international release. It’s not there yet but fingers crossed. It will be my Christmas present to myself. I love Stephen and Evie. They are too beautiful. ❤
6:09 I agree about the tails. Always remove the tail fluke bits. It’s kinda fun, though, to leave the body attached-especially if you’re making coconut shrimp, because the exoskeleton turns an amazing colour when deep fried. Ohhh I adore that dress ! As usual Evie is such a wonderful treat and the two of you together always warm my heart ❤️💜 I love the name for your cookbook and how it came about , and that cocktails is the first chapter 😂 love that the lemons are the vitamins ! And the shrimp rant was on point ! Please can we have Evie come cook with you once a mont at least on the non holiday months we don’t get her to come for cards lol this whole thing is so fun I have to watch it again !😂❤
How refreshing to see a man treat his wife with such respect and admiration!
I was in the audience for this - it wasn’t an act when the camera stopped!
Stephen knows what's good for him!
He gets attention without having to renegotiate the prenup😊✌️
He seems very gentle with her.
Grits is ground hominy.
when Stephen has Evie on the show you know it will be a great time 🥹🙌🎊💚

Evie is absolutely ADORABLE ❤
I was just thinking that same thing
One hundred percent agree.

I wish that kind of love for everyone
Me, too! The way she would laugh off camera and bring a glow to Stephen's eyes was nothing short of joyous during an otherwise dark time.❤

Apparently, some people actually EAT the tails! Yeah, I was shocked when I found that out recently! That sounds nasty to me.
@@MatthewTheWanderer Saving the shells and tails for fish stock is a good idea, but you can't eat them. That's like eating eggshells. Gross.
