Nice video! But why go up hill must use manual? Can't it be auto? How about auto go up hill? Got the power? Is the auto gear smart enough in going up hill?
Manual mode allows you more control over the gears. In Auto, when you lift off for a corner, the gearbox may shift upwards to a higher gear and when you accelerate it has to hunt for a gear, which may take more time, and response to throttle is affected, although this may be only milliseconds, but it all adds up.

Hi YS, you don't seem to be very enthusiastic about the CX-5 2.5 AWD Turbo. It's quite a powerful car and it comes with AWD which you love. Any particular reasons behind this?

nice video, may i know what's the average RPM the car is running at? it doesn't seems to shift as much as lower CC and non-turbo skyactiv and the gear shift is faster than non-turbo
The transmission is tuned slightly different, and shift points are lower by a bit. The turbo has high torque so it shifts less. Note that max torque happens around 2000 rpm onwards. The average rpm is between 2000 and 4000 rpm. Most of the time it is around 3000, I think
