There is something on that man that makes me think of the man that when I was a kid thought was an ideal father, funny but smart and ready to share his knowledge
In research and development for 15 years!!!! Made from the best titanium materials man has ever known!!!! NASA computer engineered to the highest standards ever!!!! And to PROVE to you how serious and professional we are and the effectiveness of our product, we have produced this top-notch video to show you the dead on, stealth accuracy of this product!!! To demonstrate, here is our head engineer, Tom “Looney Tunes” Johnson!!! Background music provided courtesy of the three stooges.. Da da, da daaaaa da dadada. Da dadada, da dadada
I am going to do a breakdown video of the differing pros and cons between this and the PGCFSB. Probably be a good idea if you did too. People are just going to keep asking.
takedown arrows, hmm maybe you can get dorge of firenock to make that concept better and more precise, its a tall order, and he seems to specialize in tall orders no one else can do and with good carbon.
You can mark the correct brace height to one arrow. You can also not loose the correct brace height if you leave the string twisted. I take the loop from the bottom limb and put it to the top limb without adding or removing any twists in my recurve bow, when I'm taking it down.
As far as making sure your string is tight and far out enough. Store one of those arrows with measurements on the arrow. Use that arrow as a last resort. And also learn your body measurements like he said
Just awesome. I absolutely love your videos. Thank you for making videos sir I don't watch ANY t.v. And I use TH-cam for entertainment and education (mostly with guns) and your videos have both of those :)
Thanks, man, just got mine in the mail today. Looking forward to spending archery time and backpacking time with my kids. The ol compound is too bulky to just whip around with, but this is perfect.
Did you know if you hold your Gerber multi-tool in the center and flick it outward, it will fling out the sliding pliers for easy one handed operation?
you do know those gerber multi tool pliers are made to be flung open by whipping it like a knife without assisted opening so you can do it 1 handed right? It takes a bit more effort to open them the way you did with one hand, give the other way a try and i bet you'll love it.
Хороший лук для выживания, можно было бы сделать поворотный механизм на рукояти, это бы упростило сборку лука и не надо было перекручивать болты, например по центру выдвинуть, развернуть рукоять и сдвинуть.
TWANGnBANG Fair enough. I'll probably just watch the CFSB video again. That was a cool bow and I see a lot of similarities in the design of the SAS bow, I'm thinking they both are solid choices.
i would suggest NOT using field points for hunting. Add a set of broadhead tips to fit into that bow as well =) also it is suggested that this particular bow is for emergency when the main weapon (like a better bow or gun) is not operateable .
love the channel and love the idea of survival bows, but as a self righteous bow snob, I am seriously skeptical about the functionality of this set. My issue is mainly with the arrows, mind you. I hate the idea of an arrow with a center connection that weighs over 30 grains and likely causes unpredictable paradox. Does the arrow bend uniformly? can it be cut shorter without effecting the balance? can broad heads fit in the body of the bow, or the quiver for that matter? Also, if carry size is an issue, my Win & Win Black Wolf and Hoyt Buffalo both clip apart and fit into 22" and 25" bag rolls respectively, and are both top performing bows. If compactness and money are both issues, buy a $125 Sammick Sage that also breaks down to under 21" and jam it into an old stocking. But, I fully understand that this SAS bow is going to win alot of people over for its niche appeal, and I respect that. Just hope it doesn't come up short when someone truly ends up in a survival scenario! 😄 Lord knows even the best tuned recurves require serious patience and skill to hunt with. 🙄
This running gag at the start xD This bow look's pretty great and have a cool price Only 200$ , he look's like powerfull but ...is it a solid sort of plastic? because i feel like it can easily break .
The riser and limb brackets are aluminum and the limbs are glass composite. There is nothing that is simply going to break on this bow anywhere. Thanks for watching!
Different but equal pros and cons. Biggest thing the SAS has going for it is it's ability to shoot vanes. I personally think the shelf on the PG should be a little higher. At least once I've turned around and smacked the limb just right and had it collapse on me which freaked me out. That can't happen on the SAS. But the PG is a much faster/ easier setup, I'll grant that much. I still like both, but I don't think one is overwhelmingly superior to the other. Depends on what features are most important.
I forgot to ask you did you find that grip tape to be too aggressive for you hands ? and can you think of some other grip tape or even better a rubber bad or grip that can be stuck on with self adhesive ??? Thanks again
I like this bow and have one but I don't have the take down arrows. I made a bow quiver from a pair of dollar tree flip flop sandals that holds 6 arrows but my arrows have 2 inch vanes instead of feathers I have shot 4 fletch feathered arrows ( arrows with four feathers ) in 3 inch feathers is this better to use or are the vanes best to use?
Ron Popeil woyld be proud! Funny intro and a nice ad for the company that makes it, but unless you are planning to use your MasterCard in a survival situation, it's really not much more than a well presented commercial.
Ok I know absolutely nada about bows but the arrow rest is there arrow on top and you get ready to set your knock -why does the knock go above the arrow especially when the rest is below it ? Is that to create this over under effect to steady the arrow? Thanks david ps you like this as much as the pgu ?
sorry not a native speaker :). I asked if you are planning to improve it. Ans I was already subbed before the crovel but since you made a crovel mk2 I thought maybe a crovel mk3 have a lovely day
I'd be happy with either. The PGU protects the limbs with the riser, and the SAS protects the arrows. The SAS is shorter and draws nicer, but the PGU is way easier to get into action and has an arrow shelf. The SAS can shoot vanes well, but the PGU really needs feathers. It just depends on your priorities.
JCH Nanaya The TOXIC needs way more KE than this generates to get penetration. For a bow like this, anything from the Magnus Stinger to the super fancy Solid Legends would work great. Any head used with a bow like this should be cut-on-contact.
The bow weighs 1kg or 2.2# and comes in 45#, 50# and 55#. I was lucky enough to get one of the original 65# bows that they no longer make. Awesome product!!!
Samick Sage is just too big and takes up too much space in a bag. Try it, you wont have much space to work with and you have to work around the bow the whole time to get stuff in and out. Not to mention that you still dont have a solution to store arrows. Plus, the Sage's limbs may break if you take a fall with your pack. That's what so great about these survival bow is that they are super compact and tough as a badger.
Trineer SA The reality is unless things have really gone to shit and I need to kill a human quietly, I'd use my handgun first. You will not get this city boy out in the woods without a gun, knife, and some sort of fire starter. I see your argument but I don't think it applies to me. All 3 of those things are in my vehicle as well and I'm not in the habit of riding into potentially isolated areas in someone else's vehicle.
The only thing different is the stick-on arrow rest. The bow is completely symmetrical left to right. SAS asks you which arrow rest to include when you order.
Target points are universal. Broaheads are a personal choice with hundreds of designs to choose from. It’s up to the purchaser to choose the broadhead they want to use.
TWANGnBANG It was a joke. You said that people prepare bows and the like for when 'stuff hits the fan', so I asked whether or not I can shoot a fan with it.
Thank God!!!! Finally an arrow that will take down an African Wildebeest. Because I’m so familiar with that animal it’s a great example to use for larger game!!!!! I mean they’re just everywhere in America!!!!

I don't know you, so I don't know if you are an archer or not. only you do. and only you can choose to upload that shit robin hood :)
If I had the time to make videos of myself I wouldn't only have 3 uploaded... And even if I did have the time, the bow I used was at a camp, if I had the cash to buy a quality bow I'd be out using it instead of watching videos on TH-cam...
There is something on that man that makes me think of the man that when I was a kid thought was an ideal father, funny but smart and ready to share his knowledge
that intro was the best thing ever lmao
Thanks! :)
Groundhog day ! LOL.
i agree haha, cracked my ass xD
THAT WAS FUCKING STUPID!!!! WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!!!
This guy is great; he isn't tacticool and doesn't take himself too seriously!
Stuff hits the fan. You still are the "nice" guy of the TH-cam gun channels

Da da, da daaaaa da dadada. Da dadada, da dadada
Great bow, and almost as good, Doug Shadwell is an AMAZING dude. Top notch customer service, all the way. I love my SAS bow. Highly recommend.
I am going to do a breakdown video of the differing pros and cons between this and the PGCFSB. Probably be a good idea if you did too. People are just going to keep asking.
It's great you plan to do it as it will give me a place to send them. :)
takedown arrows, hmm maybe you can get dorge of firenock to make that concept better and more precise, its a tall order, and he seems to specialize in tall orders no one else can do and with good carbon.
PREPAREDMIND101 have you yet? I'm interested in seeing it.
You can mark the correct brace height to one arrow. You can also not loose the correct brace height if you leave the string twisted. I take the loop from the bottom limb and put it to the top limb without adding or removing any twists in my recurve bow, when I'm taking it down.

that intro was fantastic
It was not planned, but I just went with it. Glad your sense of humor is the same as mine. :)
The best review I've seen on this bow so far...👍🏼
I love the concept of survival bows, but it seems as if they all have the ergos of a 2x4.
Looks, like a pretty good functioning take down bow. Like how compact and streamline it is.
I have been schooled.
Thank you.
~ Tokie ~
NEAT. Haven't used a bow for years but this one looks cool. Good Video.
How friendly and politely he rammed that arrow into the zombie's head :D
Just awesome. I absolutely love your videos. Thank you for making videos sir I don't watch ANY t.v. And I use TH-cam for entertainment and education (mostly with guns) and your videos have both of those :)
Thanks so much!
Watched lots on this bow, your review is without doubt the best👍👍👍👍
Thanks, Paul!
you got my thumbs up from that opening. that was hilarious!
Thanks!
Thanks, man, just got mine in the mail today. Looking forward to spending archery time and backpacking time with my kids. The ol compound is too bulky to just whip around with, but this is perfect.
Best. Intro. EVER!
The first twenty seconds made me instantly subscribe. Great job! :D
Damn brother you got almost the same subscriptions as me how???
That was the best intro 2a vid i'v seen in a long time👍.
Did you know if you hold your Gerber multi-tool in the center and flick it outward, it will fling out the sliding pliers for easy one handed operation?
I think in a survival bow that can be folded and having takedown arrows is not a must in survival, ja must have you bows and arrows ready for use.
you do know those gerber multi tool pliers are made to be flung open by whipping it like a knife without assisted opening so you can do it 1 handed right? It takes a bit more effort to open them the way you did with one hand, give the other way a try and i bet you'll love it.
If you owned these, you’d know that it is actually a very unreliable method. They bind up and don’t move all the time.
Guys the goprimal bow Is way better in pretty much everything. He has reviewed it some time ago. I bought one and it's great
... as long as you use feather fletched arrows. The SAS bow shoots vanes 1000% better.
PREPAREDMIND101 yeah true
Хороший лук для выживания, можно было бы сделать поворотный механизм на рукояти, это бы упростило сборку лука и не надо было перекручивать болты, например по центру выдвинуть, развернуть рукоять и сдвинуть.
I heard "Wang in bang"....hehe thought that was funny but I still like your demeanor and presentations very much thx
Any thoughts on doing a comparison between this and the CFSB you did a year or two ago?
Comparison videos just aren't my thing, but I've summarized the differences elsewhere in the comments. Thanks for watching!
TWANGnBANG Fair enough. I'll probably just watch the CFSB video again. That was a cool bow and I see a lot of similarities in the design of the SAS bow, I'm thinking they both are solid choices.
okay?
i would suggest NOT using field points for hunting. Add a set of broadhead tips to fit into that bow as well =)
also it is suggested that this particular bow is for emergency when the main weapon (like a better bow or gun) is not operateable .
How would you compare it to the Primal Gear Unlimited CFSB you reviewed a few years ago?
love the channel and love the idea of survival bows, but as a self righteous bow snob, I am seriously skeptical about the functionality of this set.
My issue is mainly with the arrows, mind you. I hate the idea of an arrow with a center connection that weighs over 30 grains and likely causes unpredictable paradox. Another Gerber 3500 mulltitool owner!!nice!!
This running gag at the start xD
This bow look's pretty great and have a cool price Only 200$ , he look's like powerfull but ...is it a solid sort of plastic? because i feel like it can easily break .
The riser and limb brackets are aluminum and the limbs are glass composite. There is nothing that is simply going to break on this bow anywhere. Thanks for watching!
Thanks you so much for your answer.
I prefer the primal gear compact folding bow.
Same.
You've shot this one?
PREPAREDMIND101
No, but this one's assembly doesn't seem very practical. Sure it's compact, but the primal gears limbs fold into itself.
I probably will buy this one soon though, just for the sake of having it.
I forgot to ask you did you find that grip tape to be too aggressive for you hands ? and can you think of some other grip tape or even better a rubber bad or grip that can be stuck on with self adhesive ??? Thanks again
I think Fred gets the point.
Pretty cool concept.
I like this bow and have one but I don't have the take down arrows. Which one is superior between this one and the one you reviewed in 2013 Primal Gear Unlimited's CFSB
Thanks david
ps you like this as much as the pgu ?
So are you planning even more improvements about the crovel
Not sure what you're asking, but you will not see any more Crovel videos on the channel.
sorry not a native speaker :). I asked if you are planning to improve it. Ans I was already subbed before the crovel but since you made a crovel mk2 I thought maybe a crovel mk3 have a lovely day
Yari Bins I have absolutely nothing to do with the Crovel other than reviewing it many years ago. It was a gift from my brother.
Do you have to remove the limbs to put it together? or can you have the limbs fold on the same side and have it be just as compact?
You must remove the top limb as shown. One limb will prevent the other from folding past 90 degrees.
Dang
getting fed up of the other band members ?
Question: Why would you choose a folding bow over a takedown bow? Complete novice here.
Better packability and durability in survival situations.
Which would you prefer a Primal Gear Unlimited, or the SAS in a "SHTF" situation?
I'd be happy with either. The PGU protects the limbs with the riser, and the SAS protects the arrows. The SAS is shorter and draws nicer, but the PGU is way easier to get into action and has an arrow shelf. The SAS can shoot vanes well, but the PGU really needs feathers. It just depends on your priorities.
Cool stuff here !
Is it storage friendly for broadheads too ?
It's a metal box, so it largely depends on what kind of broadhead and how you insert it in the riser. I'd stick with two-blade heads.
Well, must admit that I like the Toxic design. What kind of two-blade are using (or would you), if I may ask ?
JCH Nanaya The TOXIC needs way more KE than this generates to get penetration. For a bow like this, anything from the Magnus Stinger to the super fancy Solid Legends would work great. Any head used with a bow like this should be cut-on-contact.
Thanks for the help, my country doesn't allow bow-hunting, so I can just dream about it for now. ^^
Funny Intro. How much weight got this Bow?
The bow weighs 1kg or 2.2# and comes in 45#, 50# and 55#. I was lucky enough to get one of the original 65# bows that they no longer make. Awesome product!!!
Ok thanks for da info center
Man, have you tried to smash a watermelon with this bow folded? Last time you did that with the CFSB, which was awesome.
hi I'm new to your channel and I'm wondering what type of dog do you have
Love this thing, I’m a noob , and it’s simplicity made it easy to feel out and I was shooting accurately at 40 yrds
Whats better this one or the recon ?
Interested till I saw the price. Buy a Samick Sage.
All 3 of those things are in my vehicle as well and I'm not in the habit of riding into potentially isolated areas in someone else's vehicle.
Then a Samick Sage will not be worth purchasing either. :)
Great Video!

Whatcha got holstered. I know I see an outline of something beneath the shirt!
Microphone cord and tape that kept coming loose in the humidity. :)
Can you set this bow up for bow fishing?
how many twists did it take to set the string?
U should compare it to your primal gear bow
I did in the comments.
which one do you prefer?
SAS or PGU?
I'm debating on the two
thanks
Already answered in comments. Thanks for watching!
@@TWANGnBANG That is a complete asshole answer. Prick. I almost subscribed to this channel. Nope!
@@TWANGnBANG bruh just answer it, it won't take much of your time😑
thanks friend
Thanks for watching!
0:37 boonk gang whole lotta gang shit
the zombie killed you both. Lol great sense of humor.
You should do more twang than bang
Here's an FAQ explaining why I don't: th-cam.com/video/LLIfCAqxTDc/w-d-xo.html
By the way, how much does it cost ?
Cool bow. What is the price?
sorry should have looked at description before asking :) I got it
5:14 he's flipping us off
do the composite limbs feel to you as if they would hold up well?
Yes. There is nothing remarkable about the material- it's a well-proven limb material with great durability.
it is scary to think that what will happen when the string of the bow snap, those limb is going to collapse on your fingers
I doubt it would hurt much if that happened. It's not like the limbs are heavy or sharp in any way. Thanks for watching!
Interesting design. Hard to beat simplicity.
Really ... STUFF hits the fan.. MMMMHHHHHmm
Love the videos
Thanks, Kaleb!
Thanks, Kaleb!
Every time I see these bows in a video, it always looks like it has an uneven draw, the bottom arm bends more than the top....
good job
Thanks!
Is it hard to pull back?🤔
missmoni1975 it was 55pounds
So is there any way to get that or make it 30lb
Is there a lefty version too?
The only thing different is the stick-on arrow rest. The bow is completely symmetrical left to right. SAS asks you which arrow rest to include when you order.
U dont get any hunting tips ? how can u survive if u only get target tips....
Target points are universal. Broaheads are a personal choice with hundreds of designs to choose from. It’s up to the purchaser to choose the broadhead they want to use.
1st time here and that intro had me laughing out loud :D
What are the limbs made of?
How much?
Rambo bow!
that intro was good!! haha
Oh i didn't notice
But can you shoot a fan with it?
Not sure if you mean a subscriber or an air pusher, but I have no plans to shoot either with this.
TWANGnBANG It was a joke. You said that people prepare bows and the like for when 'stuff hits the fan', so I asked whether or not I can shoot a fan with it.
Prosack Metheus I got that it was a joke, but I didn't know what you were joking about. Now I do. :)
