ROSÉ is going SOLO and I'm here for it! The song was incredible and it took me by surprise.
After doing reactions for 'Lovesick girls', 'How you like that' and almost all Lilifilms, I've been wanting to check out more from Blackpink.

Rosé had said that this song is a reflection of her life so far. The 'you' refers to her younger self.
The scene with the two of her is her younger self in white playing the piano and she's looking up to who she is now, wearing black and pink(BLACKPINK).
She wrote Rosé on the mirror and it changed to Roseanne. Although she is famously known as Rosé now, she is still Roseanne Park, which is her real name.

This song is almost a crying for help. When they are young and become trainees, they have no idea that the rules they will have to follow in the kpop industry are very strict. No drinking, no parties, no boy/girlfriends... Their manager and security crew follow them everywhere. They are virtually married with their fans, and they can't disappoint them.
Jisoo for example said she was never in a romantic relationship, and she's 26 years old. That may be true for Rosé and Lisa as well. Only Jennie is known to have been in a relationship that lasted two months.
I love Blackpink, but the day they follow their own lives and make their own music, it'll be freedom.

Yes, the message revolves around her life, looking back at her old self when life may seem to be more simple. Then to her current status wherein she's now really successful but realizing all that she needs are not those things but those she misses through her normal life, her family, friends, their love and support. I really love this song because it’s so personal to Rosé. There are references to older Blackpink music videos like when Rosé is on the swing infront of the theatre like Jisoo in Stay, and the car is similar to the car in Jennie’s solo, also the flames give Playing with Fire vibes. And Rosé writing her name on the mirror like in As If It’s Your Last. We also see Rosé levitating in the sky like she was in Whistle. These references reflect Rosé’s career and journey as Rosé of Blackpink. And when she sees herself playing the piano it represents her younger self as Roseanne during her trainee years and in her home in Australia before she was in Blackpink.

This video is about roseanne (young) and rosé (now) the white and simple clothes is her more young... the other closes more sufisticade is her now.... she have a lot of dreams but when she reach them is was just an ilusion it wont bring happiness.. she sacrifice the best years of her life (since 16 years old) always practicing singing and dancing in korea alone.... she doesnt have nobody.
So she is saying that she prefers the roseanne and not rosé... she is all about nature, familly, swings, friends and her trueself.. so she hit the limosine (luxury, fame) whith a asteroide and prefer the swing

Anytime :) accent’s super cute too. AND, lol this song also made me tear up, haha and if you knew me I look like I’d be the last person you could see listening to kpop, let alone cry to a song. Chef, covered in tats, you’d think I only listen to gangster rap. But this song really hit me, spoke to me as a chef, long hrs washing dishes, to prepping, then line, all the way up to executive chef of a restaurant and realize I’m happiest when I cook for family and friends. Aw man this song really got to me.

I’m glad that u like it, too. A lot of people doesn’t appreciate it coz doesn’t sound like bp dance music. But I believe that’s the point of giving them solo projects, so they can work on something they want to do that doesn’t align with the group. The lyrics is great and I also like her voice. And it would be great if she has a song that can be used on drama ost coz her voice is so unique and soothing

Check the 'Making of' video as well. I also got goosebumps when that break dropped... I love the way she runs like a super athlete... Who says dancers aren't fit? The sign in the background where the fireball hits the car says, "No way out. Since 199.. You are nowhere..." There's also a weird reference on the movie theatre sign to a 2015 Australian movie called Last Cab To Darwin which is about an old man who finds out he is dying so drives his taxi from Melbourne all the way to the city of Darwin. Is is a movie Rosie likes? Who knows. Actually I think I suddenly get something watching your reaction. The voices say they're not being listened to, (you're running out of time), but I think she does hear them and gets out of the limo just before the fireball hits...

This is late but basically when she write rosé it is her stage name and that girl is her past self. Her young, innocent self who wants her name to be known and wants to succeed. But then it changes to roseanne, her real name and you see no one in front of the mirror. So she's saying that on this journey of fame and success she feels like She lost her real self. And also the "you and i" in the video refer to her current worldwide phenomenon self and the young trainee rosé
