Love that Leaky Lock poem. Speaks to me of life. And yes, as a former boater and now a caravaner, I love having tanks full/empty whatever, and batteries charged, etc. Makes life so nice. People who own homes that have water and electricity and sewer 24x7, maybe they can't understand the "joy" of this sort of thing. 🙂 Trying to find water, fuel, coal, etc, much less a place to park your boat for the night. Much less the concerns of weather and wind. Oh, nice rainbow! and sunset. and clouds reflected in the water. Jaks! twice! What a busy, fun, festival. I had no idea. This is so cool. Gorgeous boats, 1933 Swift. My last boat was 1939. AAAARGH!

Great conclusion to the ditty. For those of us on the sailing side of boating, we like to call it "the most expensive way to get somewhere very slowly for free". Hurrying is just not on. I just went out (also singlehanding) the other day in a bit more wind than I was expecting and ... came right back in after 20 minutes. Nothing wrong with knowing your limits! R!

The sign on the bridge still proclaims it as "Ball's Bridge", in recognition of the fact that the original bridge on that location was built and owned by the Ball family, a well-known Dublin merchant family in the 1500s and the 1600s. The current bridge was built in 1791.

I spotted the cameo appearance by ex boater David there. Yes, the old engines are interesting, you've got a very nice one too, I'm surprised at how reliable it is considering it's age, it was certainly built to last. I think out of all the old ones I like the Russell Newbury DM2 most, those things sound so cool, if I was having a boat built I'd like to pop one of those in it. Interestingly they were built not far from where I lived in my UK days. Thank you again for a lovely video, I always look forward to them.

Next week in Aust is the " race that stops a nation" the Melbourne Cup where every one frocks up ( and whatever is the male equivalent). A hat or fasinator must be worn - your pirate hat would definitely be a fashion statement❤😊 ( google melbourne cup millinery). Me thinks you could get away with the pirate theme for the day - ditch the high heels! Always a good treat. I used to do wood turnings and did things like this. Playing a Contra Dance Friday. Better make sure the sound system is gathered and ready to go. Winter is definitely here. Had a moose just out the door a couple nights ago. Had to wait a bit as it moved away so i could gather wood from the wood shed. Take care and stay dry.
