- Did you know that this Vekoma Whirlwind looping coaster was relocated to Costa Rica from the USA? It originally opened in 1984 at Playland Park in Rye, New York before moving to Knoebels Amusement Park in Pennsylvania in 1993 and then here in 2005. There was also one of these coasters in England: Whirlwind at Clacton Pier, which was relocated to Särkänniemi in Finland (Korkkiruuvi).
Parque Diversiones is located in San José, Costa Rica.

This was my all time favorite roller coaster when it was at Knoebels. I so miss the Whirlwind, but glad to see it is still in operation.

@@alanhuff3417same here. I was deathly afraid, but my dad got me on the whirlwind at knobels. We went every year. I finally road it and it was my first! I like them a lot now
The whirlwind was the first rollercoaster I ever went on with my brother! Soo many memories seeing it run again! 💜

Oye, no insultes a CoasterForce, no es una doña, es un chico que sube los videos. Como tu piensas, ese canal se ve que es femenino, pero en realidad es masculino.
Además, mira uno de sus videos y verás que el no grita, el es adulto, y por cierto, el es valiente y tiene 3500 videos de montañas rusas

As a Costa Rican I wish we had a Six Flags park here. On top of that this park already closed because of the pandemic 😔

I went on that ride when it was a Knoebels many years ago. That was one of my favorite rides to go on. I'm glad to see it giving others joy to ride it.

Boy, there's only three coasters in Costa Rica, and this is one of them, believe me, it's never going away😂
You could say this amusement park is unique as is probably the first amusement park funded by the goverment that takes all the revenue to help the national children's hospital.
Believe it or not this is the first standard-sized coaster ever in Costa Rica, the tallest one before this one was Huracán, a Pax Magic Steed which was 39ft (Technically a family-sized coaster despite it had a loop)

True story. This thing throws you around a little, lol.
Costa Rican’s think this is an intense ride, I’m from the U.S and gone to basically all major theme parks like Cedar Point and Six Flags Great Adventure and I gotta say, this coaster sucks. It’s not intense at all and it’s to rough you bang your head against the restraints so hard. It’s just a Vekoma custom looper spin-off of the Corkscrew model.

tengo 12 años y me subi cuando tenia 8 y la primera vez es la mejor por que no sabes como se ciente y ya luego te acostumbras y no se disfruta tanto pero la que mas me gusto fue el bumerang
I used to be a ride op for this coaster when it was at Knoebels... I knew the nuts and bolts of that thing... Especially when it would fault out and you have to go the control room under the lift to reset, especially if the train stopped ont he lift or the brake run, then you would have to run it empty 2x before opening it back up. The pedal counter was usually the most common fault.
I used to work on that ride when it was at Knoebels from 2001 til 2002

Quite compact. It looks as if you could reach out and touch the surrounding track. I found this ride very short compared to other Vekoma coasters. But overall very good for a park it's size.
Videos can be deceiving because it isn't the "real" on ride experience. :)
Lastima q esa montaña rusa es corta y solo es una vez pero cuando se sube no se puede ni gritar de lo rapido. Igual el bumerang , la primera vez q me subi en la primera vuelta agache la cabeza y no la podia levantar de lo rápido hiba xD

Playland rye should have kept this mini arrow....loved riding this in the late 80's & early 90's.What fun was to ride "whirlwind".....r.í.p.1992.
Before riding this coaster when it was at Knoebels, I had never rode ones that went upside down because I was afraid to. This coaster got me over my fear

This ride was at clacton-on-sea in Essex during the mid eighties.
Also, I thought Arrow trains on Vekoma corkscrew coasters was going to sound like regular Arrow coasters.

Tal vez esta montaña rusa es muy corta pero cuando te montas no se puede ni gritar es tanta la turbulencia que cuando intento gritar parece que me estoy ahogando! Y también esta el boomerang que es otra montaña rusa de este parque donde hace un recorrido con varias vueltas y vultas al revés pero al final te llevan a un lugar muy alto y después hace el mismo recorrido solo que para atrás pero si no quieres sentir nada te recomiendo que vuelvas la cabeza hacia un lado! También esta otra cosa que yo le llamo "EL DIABLO" este es un tipo de imitación de una excavadora donde hay un montón de asientos y antes de partir de tiran agua después de llevan hasta arriba das cuatro vueltas rápidas en un solo luagr y después te lanzan mientras te tiran agua! Y también esta el martillo que son un tipo de dos cápsulas con varios asientos después una tapa redonda y garande nos cubre y nos mueven primero como si fuera una cama para bebés pero después va agarrando velocidad y hay un punto donde....ñ.ñ
Donde nos dejan muy alto y boca abajo por un pos cinco segundos pero te tienes que agarran bien por que es como si estuvieraz flotando y despues te lanzan a una velocidad extrema!

Sinceramente estaba aterrorizado ya que era mi primera vez en esta "monraña rusa" pero literalmente era incluso mas aburrida que el torbellino, digo, las veces que te ponen boca arriba casi ni se sienten y la primera cuesta abajo es mas tranquila que incluso la bajada del torbellino.

Jaja yo soy de costa rica y el parque de diversiones esta mas bonito a cuando yo estaba alla han puesto mas cosas pero esa guila que gritaba jajaja q rollo si viene aqui a los estados q tienen las montañas rusas mas grandes y altas se caga mi hermana cuando vino de costa casi se descompone cuando se monto una que se llama (manta) se siente bien fuerte en su estimago pero esa guila q sale gritando en el video me acorde y me acorde de mi hermana pensaba que todo era bonito pero salio bien espantada y ya no se queria montar en otras jajajja
en Costa Rica no hay ninguna atracion llamada "manta"

Haha. That’s true. Unfortunately we don’t have a big market for pricy roller coasters. Florida is not far from CR, I’m sure many Costaricans (including myself) have been to Busch Gardens, Universal, etc...

This is the relocated Whirlwind, originally at Rye Playland in New York in the 1980s and early 1990s. I came to look at it tonight for nostalgia reasons, but all that did was make me remember what a boring, slow, short ride it was, with no payoff whatsoever. Definitely not worth the kind of line you can see in this video. Or honestly any line.

um. I was expecting a little more coaster? I think they also forgot to put the Looping in LOL. I think they could've put up a coaster like "Python" (Efteling) there.....
This particular park is very small and helps a childrens hospital, so right now it cant afford better rides.
aww that's very sweet :) I was just commenting on how the length of the coaster could've included a single looping, perhaps though. Like, at the time it was first bought/constructed.

Charlie Se llama Vekoma, la misma que hizo el bumerán.
Son las mismas, ya que Vekoma es conocida por hacer un sin fin de clones de montañas rusas. Ejemplo Bumeran que hay unos 60 al rededor del mundo :v
