Today I'm looking at some of the transfers that are on the verge of completion. Including the likes of: Eddie Nketiah, Ilkay Gundogan, Joachim Andersen, Manuel Ugarte, Mikel Merino, Joao Felix & more!

If they manage to get O'Riley, Kadioglu and Boscagli and get rid of deadweights; they'll have one of the deepest squads in the Premier League.
Besides Ugarte id like Hermoso as well, just turned 29, is a free, was a starter for Simeone and gives us cover for both LCB and LB which we desperately need.
Not sure he fits into the new model at 29yo. Ugarte just 23 is a factor.
I like Hermoso, but I agree with Joe. I also think they are set on getting someone like Branthwaite for that LCB role and Hermoso effectively blocks that. For LB, I hope MUFC move for someone on a permanent to challenge shaw. I love robinson but if price is an issue, even someone like KWP or Mittelstadt should be considered imo, or if age is a focus, Gutierrez is a good pick or Doughty could be fairly cheap coverage.
I like this but the age plays a factor I also think once fit Shaw can provide that Lcb cover and we can use Amas as the Lb if Malacia isn’t fit also Dalot can do a good job there as he’s proven multiple times
Hermoso would be a great signing for Man Utd, he would give you 2-3 seasons of really solid performances whilst Yoro develops. The next season or two is vital for Man Utd to stop treading water and if he can give you one less headache then it seems worth it to me

I’m so excited to have Andersen back at Fulham he was a shining light in a horrible season for us when we went down, he doesn’t rely on pace so he could easily give us 4/5 years of good service
Berge to Fulham makes so much more sense then to United. A perfectly fine lower/mid mid table player.

For me, the Manu Ugarte deal is good for depth but it doesn't solve United's issues in the midfield. United really need someone to progress the ball by passing not carrying. Kobbie is not a progressive passer, he is more off a carrier. United need a game controlling 8 who can dictate a game and is tidy on the ball with good pass progression numbers.
Would that 8 play as a 6? You simply are asking to get run through if you play football with two 8s and a 10

Agreed. I also think this is a great deal. I get why some Liverpool fans are upset about because they want other signings, but if you look at the Mamardashvili deal by itself, it is great business.

I would have to disagree with the Mamardashvili rating, signing alone has to be LOVE IT, future proofing an Alisson exit by having potentially the next Alisson on your books is great business. Obsviously if we are ranking clubs summer windows, that's a different story 😅
As a City fan. I am ECSTATIC about Gundo coming back. I think every single City fan is excited for his return.

Moreover, Felix can play St,Lw,Cam,Rw. Basically anywhere throughout the frontline.

IMO it is a league average attack, and you’ve left out about six or seven other players. Some of which are on insane wages and were expensive. Plus more youth players that have been signed. This issue isn’t just that Chelsea’s attack is just okay, it’s that there are a dozen players to play four positions and it’s insanely expensive. Hopefully FFP decimates the squad.

Missing some facts on the felix transfer. After his loan Chelsea didnt sign him because 1. Atletico was asking for way more than they are now and the major reason for not getting him then was 2. Poch said he didnt want him
With Felix Chelsea did want to do the deal but Pochettino reportedly didn’t want him . That’s the only reason he didn’t sign for 75 million at the end of the loan .
Rating Mamardashvillis transfer lower because Liverpool haven’t signed other players makes so sense! Some of the players you have in good are moving to clubs with tons of work to do
Gundo back to city is amazing. Some one said gundo turns into zidane at the end of the season. He literally got the premier league titles for city in the past 2 years

Nketiah is not depth tho. He takes the starting job if not this year then next.
There's absolutely no way: Kovacic, Nunez, etc will be happy for the return of Gundogan.
He won't add so much to what City already has. He'll just be stopping their progression as midfield players.

do you think ugarte should be used as stopgap especially if it's obligation and next season United with CL money and the cuts on staff etc spending big on a midfielder. Someone like Adam Wharton. I wouldn't be surprised if he's heavily linked with United next summer

Southampton should sign ramsdale, our goal keeping situation keeps me up at night. Would also be amazing if we could add one more striker who is actually proven in the prem but I feel like that’s asking for too much

@@joethomlinson_ Asensio won’t play . Dembele is just a matter of time getting hurt. Sterling is just a backup. I can’t see him in any other shirt or anyone else paying his wages

You can't put ugarte in good deal and the best goalkeeper in laliga in meh! That's an incredible signing and as a liverpool fan I think I think we have the depth to compete this season even though I would like to see signings I think we're okay! Would love to see a six and a cb! But he has to be in love it! Great bit of future planning!

They buy young exiting talent that fits the new model of the club along with high profile talent. Sell on academy players who don’t fit the system and make tonnes of profit. Alvarez and Jesus were always backup strikers
Multiple times in the 2021 season... I remember Guardiola talking specifically about him having the ability to play as a striker because of his movement and sense in the box around that time.
@@joethomlinson_ Gabriel Jesus had more starts and appearances. I don’t think he ever consistently played there. He also tried Torres and KDB as a 9 that season.

I feel like if Chelsea clear out and potentially let go of Noni Madueke Felix will make more sense and you’d then have 4 wingers instead of 5 and it’d give them the money to sign Osihmen which is no brainier at this point
I think the idea of Felix Palmer Nkunku operating behind Osihmen the capability of all 3 of those players to interchange during the game creating for Osihmen is exciting for Chelsea fans
I also think the ability to bring on or start 1 or both of Neto and Mudryk with Jackson as a back up striker will be a good look for Chelsea
I feel like selling Madueke also opens up the spot for Estevão to play and grow into his potential which could be huge for them the problem I don’t see the doing this which means Maresca is gonna have big problems however if Chelsea do clear out a lot of the moves they’re making will make sense eventually
What about when Estevao & Kendry arrive?

I think Palmers ability to play the 10 means he’ll get game time there which leaves mins for Estevão and it leaves them with 8 attacking options which is ideal as that’s
usually how the top teams operate
Eventually with Mudryk if he doesn’t come good this year I can see him being sold opening up space/mins for a Tyrique George and Kendry again these players are young so 1-2 years out on loan won’t hurt I just hope Chelsea don’t treat them like they’ve been treating players this window especially their own like Tyrique
@@joethomlinson_ I actually feel like the signing of KDH is more pointless as Palmer Nkunku Felix can operate at a similar if not much higher level in the position they signed him to play even before the Felix deal it was pointless
