    Travelling in India I always stay in rooms for 150-500 RUPEES and I love my experience. When I pay 500 rupees for a bed in a dorm while in another place I paid 150 for a private single room with attached bathroom I feel like a looser :P
    And I always travel by a local bus in Goa. I love what you're doing. Keep it up!

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah I've had some pretty good rooms for 150-300 rupees. Depends a lot on the area and also how hard you look. This trip I have more of a budget fortunately, so I don't mind paying a little more.

    • @Vrindavankediwane100
      @Vrindavankediwane100 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is just unbelievable. I am an Indian and i never saw a 150 Rupees room but if you found a room for 150 then it is a pretty cool thing.
      You are most welcome again in India. There are more spiritual places in India like Jaganath Puri in Puri, Orissa. Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh. Golden Temple, Amritsar, Punjab. Heritage cities like Udaipur, Rajasthan and so many more.

      Actually a lot of people are happy in places where you can live economically. Unfortunately in countries like Australia US and UK everybody is always wanting to dig into your hard earned. So I am planning to live in a cheap place for a couple of years in the future and save money and most of all to live life stress free.

    Hey, I noticed a lot of the time you don't actually use the straw that comes with your drinks. I'm sure you know of the global plastic problem - it'd be cool if you started asking for no straw. A good thing for you viewers to see too!
    Cheers :)

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      Yeah I hate that they always give you a straw. The thing is I always forget about it. I just order a drink and then here it comes with a straw again. And the truth is, knowing India, even if you asked them not to include a straw, between the communication barrier, forgetfulness and perhaps a different person making the drink than the one you talked to, by the time the drink is made and delivered to you, it would probably still have the straw in it. :) Just kinda the reality of India. But it does annoy me every time and feels like a waste. Anyway have an awesome time in India!

People travel 6 mos or more out of the year on minimum wage, and they do so because they A. Travel in cheap places that are awesome and B. Have no commitments tying them into samsara

    Nice sandals. Believe it or not i use sandals to go anywhere including hiking or walking long trails in the desert mountains. They keep your feet cool and for me it's much easier to move around. I even use them for running - weird, i know, but heck, i don't have to be like everyone else. Lol

    Awesome video again Gabriel, busses are a great way to get around, I was told by a local some years back that busses run all over india so if nothing else when you need to go somewhere there will always be a bus (or series of busses like you did) to get there, and its cheap.
    Though definitely for long distances the trains are better, if you can get a seat/bed :)

      Gabriel Traveler Is it actually an issue? Of course crime can happen anywhere, but it seems to me that you are more likely to be scammed or pick pocketed in India, seems unlikely to experience a robbery.

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, pickpocketing or things being taken when you're not looking is the main concern. I assumed he was referring to possessions in your room/hut. If my hut wasn't secure I'd be a bit worried and take extra precautions somehow, makes it easier to enjoy your day out.

If you want stay in a 5 ⭐️ hotel will be expensive it would be 150-200 US dollars for week. You can eat all day good food cost would be around 20 dollars. If you alcoholic it's also cheap like beer 🍻 cost 1litr. Bottle 2 dollars and good whiskey 🥃 bottle around 10 dollars.

    • @GabrielTravelerVideos
      @GabrielTravelerVideos  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Reid, what time of year are you going and how much time do you have? Based on that I can give you a few suggestions about your itinerary. One thing is that there isn't all that much to see in Pune, unless you're going there specifically for the Osho ashram. Also, those places are very spread out so getting between them is going to take a while, like days. And if you're going in the next few months then Goa and Hampi in the south will be brutally hot. Most of India will be extremely hot from April until August or so, all depending on where, and the monsoon rains will be happening between July and October, again depending on where in the country you are. So feel free to let me know when and how long you're going and I might be able to help you plan things out for the best experience.

    • @emeraldlotusmystic
      @emeraldlotusmystic 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm going in May for 4 weeks! It's not nearly enough time to do everything but I'm hoping to do 4 days or so in various places. I'm also planning on flying to Kathmandu for a few days if I can possibly squeeze it all in... Pune was mostly on the list as a destination point between being in Hampi/Hospet and seeing the Ajanta Caves but definitely subject to change.

    The beach in south goa is more peacefull, clean and the water is also much clear. The adventure activities are mostly done at north goa beaches. Also lots of pubs in Goa.
    By the way, drinks in Goa are much cheaper compared to rest of India :)

    Outstanding! Looks totally relaxing. Nice overview of the area with the bus rides, too. I've been using a couple of Fun For Louis' recent travel videos (one in Slovenia and one in Berlin) to teach ESL to an evening class with immigrants & refugees. I think I am going to show them this one, too. We've been working on comparison-contrasts with Louis and Raya's videos of the same places, but this one would be nice juxtaposed for contrasts! I'll let you know if I do it and what they think!

    My wife & i had a couple of nights here last year on our trip to Goa, we stayed in a small town called Varca it was small and very quiet so the trip to Palolem was a refreshing break for a few days.
    I hired a kayak & went up the river estuary its at one side of Palolem beach, for a while it was a nice way to pass a couple of hours loads of wild life.

    I know Goa from the Bourne Supremacy, there was a lot of filming done in Goa, including a big car chase. The Bourne trilogy is one of my favourite film situations of all time. The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy, and The Bourne Ultimatum. It's probably my third favourite movie situation of all time behind The Lord of the Rings trilogy and the Star Wars series.
    I also love Gosford Park which is the best period movie, and Little Dorrit, which is a Charles Dickens TV series adaptation and is my favourite TV series of all time. Everything film situation I've mentioned here is super awesomeness incorporated.

    Hey Gabriel, mind visiting Eastern parts of India? You can travel to West Bengal (more specifically Kolkata) during September-October and enjoy the biggest festival of the Bengalis- Durga Puja. It's a four-day long festival and the West Bengal Tourism conducts beautiful rides all over the state. You can also visit Darjeeling (hill station), Bolpur-Santiniketan, Dooars, Baharampur- Hazarduari Palace, Sunderbans and many more places here.
    I am from Kolkata. Have been watching your videos for quite some time now. They are amazing. Love from India.
