I like how both of these pieces of information interact. Initially, saying they've been together for less time seems like a detached move on Whizzer's end (and I think he wants it to look that way), but it's actually motivated by feelings he refuses to admit he has. (Jealousy toward Trina and Marvin's relationship as well as a love for Marvin that goes beyond physical intimacy and monetary gain).
