      @calvinfishermedia Thanks. Infinite Warfare also has a pretty good campaign. My favorite character in it was that robot everyone ingame called Ethan because it was easier than saying his acronym. I also thought it was kind of funny because I have a cousin who has the same name. There’s a lot of cool set pieces and after the first few missions you can play the rest of the game in whatever order you, with the mission selection being represented by a map that shows different celestial bodies in our solar system. Unfortunately, the multiplayer and Zombie mode weren’t very good. Too bad we probably won’t get a sequel since it wasn’t well received back in the day.

      @calvinfishermedia I remember once I was at a grocery store and saw the game in either a bargain bin or on clearance and bought it to see if it was really that bad. I was then blown away because it wasn’t garbage like so many people said. Instead it was a lot of fun. Sure, the story was kind of dumb and they didn’t flesh out the enemy that well. But, it did its job for the most part. I’m sure the reason the game has the reputation it does is due to a combination of fatigue from too many futuristic CoDs with the previous Advanced Warfare being the tipping point, and the other two modes being lackluster.
      Since this video has to do with CoD I’ll mention it here. Haven’t played the campaign of Ghosts, but I played the weird Zombies type mode Extinction with one of my friends. It was pretty fun. A bit rough around the edges, but I’m sure if whatever team made the thing had a second attempt they’d be able to turn it into a mainstay like Zombies. It’s pretty crazy how Zombies started out as such a small game mode and almost got cut from WoW.

    If I remember correctly, the CoD 4 remaster was on game pass. I installed it and played the whole campaign at least three times. It was genuinely some of the most fun I had in Call of Duty in a world filled with half-assed game releases, paywalls, and battle passes.

    Wow, I still remember when this game came out, it was revolutionary for me on the PC, I was hooked and I must have finished it several times, a very good childhood memory, especially following 2 and 3 too!! Very good story, captivating characters, immersive missions, it was a great pleasure to play, even today it is clear. Now, after I'm old, every time I play it gives me a good feeling, except when I put it on the hardest difficulty and I start to hate it hahahaha but it's definitely too good, the new ones don't hold up!!! The campaign at the time was probably truly generational and something to behold. I think that this campaign for me is not in the top 3 or maybe even the top 5 if I look back at it however I do just love it's simplicity in story and concept that would go on to spawn one the best trilogy's of a campaign story line ever with the MW series. The other thing this game lacks from is color but back in the day I imagine not many people cared about that.

    • @calvinfishermedia

    When it comes to the CoD series, only two have truly great campaigns for me: 4, and World at War. And 4 in particular brings new definition to the term "Short but sweet". You get the feeling that every advancement Infinity Ward made in their past entries was building up to this, like a warmup to a main event, and the Paul Jackson segments are honestly some of my favourite missions in FPS history. You KNOW that the US Marines are making a huge mistake because Al-Asad prepared for them, and yet, in the midst of the exhilarating gunplay and "no-one fights alone" style that the CoD games before MW2 excelled at, you'll _still_ never see the ultimate fate of Jackson coming.
    "EVERYONE, HANG OOOON!" [cue "shockwave and aftermath"]

    • @calvinfishermedia
      @calvinfishermedia  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Short but sweet is an excellent way to describe them! WAW is great, I need to play through it again soon. Thanks for checking out the video!

    • @DestinyAwaits19
      @DestinyAwaits19 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Exactly. COD 4 and WAW are the best games in the whole series. Mainly because you are not a one man army. You depend on your own men to get through the fight, much like real world warfare. And it was still realistic before MW2 turned it into a Michael Bay transformers spectacle.

  • @shreksnow1918
    @shreksnow1918 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    Didn’t think this would be on the list. I was assuming you’d probably flip flop between Resistance and Killzone until both mainline entries were complete. Glad I was wrong. Good video.
    I know this will piss some people off, but I’ll say it anyways. For a while I’ve wanted a CoD or Battlefield styled Halo spinoff set during the Insurrection War/Era. Either style of gameplay would lend itself really well for a human centric conflict. Plus, if done right you could have multiple campaigns or an anthology of games that show both sides of the conflict. It would be a great way to show how there were no true “good guys” or “bad guys” in that conflict. Instead there was PLENTY of blood on both sides, with each committing some truly NASTY war crimes. For tone I’d want it to have a lot of cool moments, while also delving into the more uncomfortable aspects of war/terrorism. Spec Ops the Line (too bad they removed it from stores. I saw some videos on it and WOW! It’s pretty crazy how they were able to make it look like a generic war game, while simultaneously acting as a harsh deconstruction of the genre and war itself), that cancelled Rainbow 6 Patriots game, and Modern Warfare 2 electric boogaloo’s No Russian mission. Of done right that could be really cool. Sadly, modern 343 Activision’s studios, and Dice would find some way to mess it up. It’s more of an idealized dream based on previous work. There’s also the issue that it would be a hard sale due to a combination of fans of a series don’t like change, translating one game into another doesn’t always work, and not a lot of people know about the Insurrectionists.
    Do you think you might cover CoD World at War at some point? My two favorite things about that game are how it shows the Pacific Theater, and it gave us Zombies mode.

    • @calvinfishermedia
      @calvinfishermedia  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Thanks for watching! I plan on covering resistance and the rest of Killzone at some point, but I was running into a lot of issues with recording gameplay so I stepped away from those a bit. I think that Halo idea could be really interesting! Speaking of Rainbow Six Patriots, that is one game I’m sad got cancelled and always wanted to see.

    • @shreksnow1918
      @shreksnow1918 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      That explains it. Hopefully, you can resolve those issues. I’ll be looking forward to those videos.
      I’m glad you liked my idea. Funny thing is a Battlefield style Halo would actually fit in with Bungie’s idea for Global Battles that were briefly prototyped and scrapped because they couldn’t get it working with the current hardware. It’s really too bad that aside from a few books and the terrible show we don’t get much information on the various Insurrectionist groups (speaking of the show, did you hear about how Keyes does in a gas explosion BEFORE they even make it to the Ring? I just died laughing when I heard about that on a review. They also did other dumb things like taking away the Spartan’s armor so they don’t have it during the fall of Reach, Cortana was captured by the Covenant, and the Covenant lady is for sure back. Part of me doesn’t want them to try to fix the show since the foundation is faulty, and it would be much more entertaining if they went all out and embraced the fact it’s a dumpster fire). Honestly, shocked there haven’t been any major mods for CoD or Battlefield that swapped out a lot of the weapons and vehicles for things we’d see in Halo.
      Yeah. Apparently, there was some homegrown terrorist organization who used the bad guys in the upcoming game one of their inspirations when they wrote this manifesto and went onto harm people. Officially, that wasn’t the reason for it to be cancelled and reworked into Rainbow 6 Siege, but it’s pretty obvious that was one of the main things causing the change. Speaking of Rainbow 6, a while ago they released several weapon and armor skins that look like Halo. If it were up to me we would’ve gotten UNSC marines/ODSTs versus Insurrections, and a few Halo inspired maps. That style of gameplay would also work really well for human vs human civilization inflicts in the Halo universe.
