It's not the answer to everything. The people running NBC now are not the same people who ran it back in the '80s and '90s. It's a different time. We're never gonna be able to go back to the way things were.
@dreamcage1801 we rarely saw small market teams in the 80s and 90s. networks are gonna showcase teams that bring ratings and those are usually big markets.
This game was LITERALLY taking place at the same time as the Patriots/Steelers AFC Championship Game (last time an NFL conference title game started at noon)
Great job on the video of another great game. At this point it was still kind of like 80s and 90s basketball. I haven’t watched any NBA since the Spurs 2014 run.
16:04 Jayson Williams three weeks later would kill his limo driver at his Who Knew? mansion and would be fired from NBC. RIP Dikembe Mutumbo, Steve Jones, Bill Walton, Kobe Bryant
Sixers management and coach Larry Brown made too many mistakes at that time to build the team, Harpring was a good player with hustle, i don't understand why they didn't resign him after one season, this 01-02, Utah signed him for mid level exception 5mln.. Sixers let Harpring went away and signs Skinner and buckner one year after for mle. Detroit signed for mle, same as buckner, the perfect PG to pair with Iverson, Billups. Tall, 6'3, good defender, very good 3p.shooter, could play with ball and off ball. Again, sixers could have traded Mutombo x Raheed or KG instead of Van Horn or Big Dog Robinson. Sixers team 2002-2003 could have been : Billups, Iverson, Harpring, Rasheed Wallace, Coleman with Mckie, Snow, Marc Jackson, Raja Bell on the bench
Gotta love January games: Mutumbo pulls out the rare Ewing-esque high release turn around fadeaway/midrange arsenal; AI is phenomenal as usual on both sides of the ball and still plays 44 minutes in spite of head to toe injuries and numerous run-ins with Shaq (lol); 23 year old Kobe back in his hometown as usual a menace and good all around; loved how easily Kobe creates plays for Shaq; a very brief appearance from Mitch Richmond; look how excited that January crowd was where both teams barely covered 180 pts. Old legacy nba > whatever this entertainment driven modern nba is
Thank you, I am looking for this since January 2002
👍
Glad to see the NBA being back on NBC next year

@@bubufubu I wish it was honestly but at least we’ll get to see more games though such as small market teams
@@bubufubu CBS had the NBA in the 80s.

@@dreamcage1801I just want the theme song to be back

Not figuratively?
@@drizzleprism5826the basketball game started 30 minutes before kickoff in Pittsburgh
RIP Bill Walton and Steve Snapper Jones. My favorite commentary combo of Marc-Walton-Snapper

👍
Agreed…I only watch 80s-2000s NBA (with a little 2010-16 mixed in it)…Now, I can care less
Thanks for this game. The hosts had won and audience was on top on the world. Well done highlight like a delicous steak.
👍
Rick Fox looks like Kronk from The Emperor's New Groove.
Great vid buddy Mutombo played awesome in this game, keep it up.👏👏👌👌
👍
Sixers played good defense and wanted this game. Derrick Coleman had some moments too.
Sixers had a better complimentary pieces for AI, a better team overall compared to the season prior but they weren’t sneaking up on anyone anymore
Great videos man 👍 I like how most of your highlight videos are longer than 6 minutes.
👍
2001 NBA Finals rematch

Coleman was the first pick, in my memory.

Thank u for this. I like your channel. Are you from Maryland? I am from Maryland as well. PG
👍 no from the west coast boss

Please upload Lakers vs Spurs from March 31, 2002.
NBA Finals Rematch
76ers with this win got back over .500 for the first time in nearly 2 months.
How fat was Oneal that season is crazy, he must had weight like 400 plus lbs
The production value of these NBA on NBC broadcasts was top-tier. The move to ABC was a major downgrade, imho.
We'll see if they can recreate this magic in 25-26
The broadcast is literally flickering like a strobe light from right before the half…
Why couldn't the Sixers win at home during the Finals a season ago?
If Iverson had Shaq they would've won 5 atleast together
Frobe vs. Headband AI

Don’t forget the departure of Pat Croce as well.
lakers had a chance in this game, let go of the rope at the end
