It looks incredible that STR for 1oo2D and 2oo2D are equal. And in the presentation there is neither a block diagram nor formulas for calculating 1oo2D. Where does this assessment come from?
With 1oo3 you could have 2 HFT (Hardware Fault Tolerant) meaning if one fails you could have 2 system still working hence improving system Architecture meeting Higher SIL requirement. Look IEC 61508
