Yes I was thinking that but some of the paperwork we have to for meat loads must be in colour which a thermal printer can’t do so I’d have to invest in a proper printer but I don’t mind cause it gets me out the truck for a bit haha

I use to have a folding bicycle that fit under my bed. When I had days off like that I was able to pedal around to see the local sights. Good for you for enjoying the whole experience.
Hi Jennifer, I moved to Alberta in 2010 and then over to Ontario in 2016, then I moved home to Ireland in 2020, at times at the start the home sickness was awful, but that eventually passed. I met some great people and had lots of great times there, its hard work at the start getting used to everything, but you get the hang of it and its like second nature to you then, good luck in journey out there.

@jenniferwinters I didn't see myself retiring there and I wanted to buy a house, I would've stayed longer if I was able to get a mortgage in Ireland while still living in Canada. I got myself a usa phone, cricket and it had good international call plan, so I was able to call family and friends back home which helped.

Just a heads up for you Jen, if you do 8hrs 45mins everyday you'll never have to do a reset, and on the 14th day on the road if your traveling back to Canada, you only need to take 24hrs off in the US to get back into Canada, then as long as you turn and go back to the USA you can keep driving with out a reset

You are doing what I would have liked to have done and that is drive trucks in the USA,unfortunately I have only driven cars over there,but I am originally from the south Wales valleys and after covering all of the UK and Ireland I set off on my first trip abroad to Ismir in Turkey and visited the Middle East for the next 5 years seeing many wonderful places and generally reloading out of Romania to the UK. I then did a few years going to Austria and then 14 years running Italy eventually selling up when the rates dropped to where it was no longer viable.Loved every minute of it but wouldn’t want to do it now too many rules and regulations.I enjoy watching a lady from Manchester as I have lived the last 18 years at Leigh so just north of your home,Keep the shinny side up 👍
Hi Jennifer, here's a joke you might like to tell the drivers over the air. A traffic cop was doing a routine safety check on a semi truck when he hears a weird noise coming from the trailer on further inspection he discovers 50 penguins in the trailer so he said to the driver you have to take the penguins to the zoo.The following day same truck same cop same driver and the penguins are still in the trailer, the cop said to the driver I thought I told you to take the penguins to the zoo I did said the driver but today I'm taking them to the beach.

I lived in California for 15 years, but got kicked out about 6 years ago... Currently driving Class 2 in the West Midlands.... How hard was it to get a job and a visa in Canada, if you don't mind me asking?
@@Hardspace1979 hey buddy, were you kicked out just to visa reasons? If so that could potentially prohibit you from getting a visa but it depends on the circumstances. It’s definitely tough because you have to get your Canadian licence but it’s definitely worth looking into! I detail the whole process and all of your visa options in my e-book which might help you 😊
@@Hardspace1979 you'll have to declare that when you apply for a Canadian visa but it may work against you as you will have to declare it. It doesn't matter if you have a UK Licence you will still have to retake the course to get an AZ license once in Canada, only the car licence is transferrable but truck certs are not unfortunately, hope that helps!

@@OldTruckerDrew I have an APU but it only does heat and not AC unfortunately so you have to idle to make it cold but luckily I don’t have to worry about that in these winter months 🥶
