Thanks and excellent journey back in time when Windsor featured a diverse selection of trains with different roadnames , motive power and rolling stock which made for interesting freights back in those days. CN , CP , CSX , NS , Conrail , SOO , VIA , Amtrak.
Old Hood Units and boxcars, long gone from the scene...open auto racks and cabooses, which look like they've rode many miles. It's totally classic - AND, a brief clip of a Harley rider and the old American autos...I enjoyed this a bunch!
Neat video! Who would have thought that EMD SD-40's and cabooses would have been the subject matter for a classic rail video- but in 2015 it certainly is!! Another era of railroading that needs to be preserved on film and shown. Thanks for sharing!
Amazing video. Really brings me back to my childhood. If you have any more Windsor area videos from the 80s/early 90s, I would absolutely love to see them!
Glad you liked it. This is the earliest stuff I had, but I made several more visits in the early '90s. I'm pretty much posting these videos in chronological order, so keep watching. :)
I go train-watching in pretty much all of these spots now a days and they look pretty different. Are the scenes around the 5:50 mark filmed on Memorial Drive in South Walkerville?

I turned 19 on this date, I wish I would have shot some vids and pics of trains back then while I had the chance.
Nice video.
I WAS BORN ON THIS DATE. 27 YEARS LATER IM STILL WATCHING

Great shots! Please post more, these are great!
nawrock Thanks. I'll get to some more Windsor videos eventually, but I do have some other Canadian stuff coming this week.
Awesome. I watched all your videos from 1990...great footage.

I think so. My notes just say Walker Rd, but looking at the map, I think I was a little East of there on Memorial.
Oh cool. I live right there and see today's CP trains go by there. Was this back when there was a siding there too?
I'm loving your historic footage. Did you see the 1225 today?
No, didn't get a chance to get up there for this trip.
Oh so you live farther away.
Not too far, I'm still in the Lansing area.
Oh me too. I chased it all the way to Clare!
Do you happen to have train footage from Sault Ste Marie & Sudbury Ontario from the 90s?
I do not have anything from Sudbury. Did do a trip to the Soo, but that was in 1993 or '94, so it will be a while before that stuff gets posted.
I see there was a diamond at the etr college bridge what was that other track used for?
I am not sure. Never saw a train on that track. It may have been another line to the boat docks.
