Yes, to fold it down...push down on the bed and pull the bar toward you and it will fold down easily....thanks to the comments!!!

Thank you for posting! It’s a puzzle to fold and unfold! I just stepped on the trundle without the mattress, but now to fold it back is rocket science stuff. I’ll try again!

I've found, if you push down and pull the bar, it works a little more easily.
