Some people think it is not necessary but, once they break a few of these, their minds would change.

    Theeese Nutzzzz... 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice Video, but why add an Extra Emergency Cable when you can just replace the Old one (Afterall the Old cable was moreless 50yrs. Old), Most likely you'll only have to do that one's in a lifetime... :●)

Long shot, but I have a situation. 74 super, the trunk won't open but it isn't the cable. I went through the escape hatch (the hole) on the underside of the body, no dice. I think that somehow the sliding piece that secure in the groove isn't moving. How in the hell do I get this thing to open? I also was able to remove the screw but I can't get the handle off. I'm trying to avoid cutting the handle. Any suggestions?

I have been there too many times. I feel your pain. When all else has failed, cut the handle and try to unscrew it. Worse case you damaged the hood.

@@FixinBugsNStuff This is my second 74 Super but the first time this has happened. I'm taking a break from it. I'll try again in a few days with a clear head and no frustration. Thank you

Hey can someone help me out I have a 1974 standard beetle and it’s my first vw I replaced the pedal assembly with a empi one and when trying to put the clutch cable on the shaft (part on transmission) I have to push the shaft in some for the cable to reach and get the wing nut on . Is this normal ? I assume not as wouldn’t the clutch be engaged at all times .

No it is not. You have the wrong length of cable.

If you have factory parts in place, and the cable is too short. I would carefully scrutinize the chrome Chinese empi pedal assembly.
Remember a good rule of thumb is….if it’s not stock, if it’s chrome or blister packed empi…..or if it has wires going to it, that require you to tap into….booger up…..or splice your wiring harness…it’s suspect.
Does you factory pedal set work correctly? Why would you ever change that marvelous piece of German engineering with……empi?
