    "I was in Edinburgh in December. It was surprising that tickets were checked in the tram, and after leaving it, at the airport station. I had almost thrown away my ticket when I went out of the train, and a few meters away, a guardian in a yellow jacket checked out my ticket."

    To be fair the 100 Airlink bus tends to get stuck at Corstorphine during rush hour and at Murrayfield during match days & concerts.

      Very true! Edinburgh is fast becoming just one big traffic jam 😵‍💫

  • @mhoobag1
    @mhoobag1 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I always get the bus as quicker and cheaper and 24/7. The tram has missed a trick here and should be faster as most of the track is off the road. But it takes longer. Such a shame.

    Scotrail's website says you can get a train to Inverness from Edinburgh Gateway. You transfer at Haymarket.

    • @TravellingTourist
      @TravellingTourist  29 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You could… theoretically you could get a train anywhere from that station if you change at Haymarket. But, why would you? I’d reconnend just staying on the tram to Haymarket. It’ll be quicker 👍🏼

    100 bus is far better and runs every 8 minutes. Runs 24/7 unlike the tram and is much cheaper

  • @58Malt

    Enjoy playing on the tram but do bear in mind that it has an appalling reliability record. In the past, the tram line has been brought to a halt by Police closures of Princes Street (at least once a month) and random stoppages have resulted from something as simple as an ambulance stopped kerbside whilst the medics dealt with a patient. Just last week, the tram line was choked as one tram couldn't close the doors. Rampant unreliability - that's what the city got as a result of trying to resurrect an obsolete 19th century transport relic.

    • @TravellingTourist
      @TravellingTourist  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes they certainly have challenges from time to time. I always take the 100 bus when going to the airport... for many reasons :) I'll do a video about this bus route soon 👍

    • @dtmc73
      @dtmc73 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      youre right the tram network can get choked if one breaks down however they're far more comfortable than the bus and are often quicker for destinations between Murrayfield and the gyle centre. I would suggest if you dislike them so much you find alternative travel methods

      Melbourne Australia kept their trams and has a great service. Yes there can be the occasional problem but you can get almost anywhere you need without a car.

    Love the voise doesn't match the face tho in ur thumbnail. So just to point out its murrayfield stadium 🏟 it said it wrong and the tram is the better way to travel however the bus is cheaper.

      Thanks for your comment Honest Guide :) Glad you liked the film. You're right though, because the voice over is just AI generated - and yes, I couldn't get it to say "Murrayfield" correctly, it was quite funny how odd it said it! We need a Scottish AI voice!
      I agree, the tram is certainly smoother, especially with Edinburgh's roads being the state they are at the moment, the bus is very bumpy.
