The beach flashback was actually kind of terrifying. Prof Hawt was running from a killer who was fantisizing the situation. They weren't a couple, she was being held captive.
Skye saved her. Detective Hawt had been looking for Prof and when she appeared with Skye, they got in a fight. But Detective Hawt calmed down when he heard the truth.

i have also seen a mii dump their special someone for someone else, but what made it even juicier is that not even AN HOUR LATER _THEY WANTED TO GET MARRIED._ so while the dumped mii was depressed and did not attend the wedding those two miis ended up being a happy family.
what really strikes a nerve is that the mii who cheated apparently wants to STILL be friends with their ex. they wondered "was leaving them the right thing to do?" _WHY ARE YOU STILL PONDERING ABOUT THIS. YOU DUMPED THEM, YOU ARE HAPPILY MARRIED, YOU HAVE A SON!!!_ meanwhile the dumped mii never wants to see them again. and it's funnier because the mii they got dumped for held a pity party for them but once they cheered up they now hate each other.
The second I saw, I dashed over here! OH THE DRAMA! The heartache! The lore! Also the monologue caught me by surprise!
Prof Hawt was definitely tired of Santa's ho ho hos but Skye swooped in and solved her woe woe woes

BUT I HAVE A THEORY (I am just having fun here, please don’t take this seriously (TwT))- Santa works all the time so she probably didn’t get to see him much and her love for Santa slowly grew apart. And probably when she needed support from him, he couldn’t provide that. Skye as her best friend probably saw this and comfort Professor Hawt, and probably led to the two gradually getting feelings for each other. Professor Hawt probably didn’t want to stay with Santa if it was just making her sad and that’s why in the end, she left Santa and went with Skye in the end. At least Skye will be able to be with her all the time and support her. She probably loved Santa but couldn’t deal with him not being there all the time. (ú-ù)
