When I was in the 7th grade, I wanted to play this song so badly. However, I was put into the intermediate orchestra because the orchestra needed people from advanced to lead them and help them out. I was pissed when I found out advanced played this song
1:04 is where this music really hits me. it touches my soul in ways i can't even begin to describe, but I can definitely say that it always makes me cry :') I so can't wait to perform this piece and bring forth the same emotions that I'm feeling right now, to my audience.
3:14-3:22 always makes me tear up. For some reason I imagine some ex-warriors at their old age, with their surviving buddies, thinking about everything they've been through and how their golden years went by so fast and now the new generation of warriors will go on without them. Maybe I'm reading too deep into this lol.
I played this in my 8th grade orchestra as a cellist. It was the best song I have ever played so fun, sad, and emotional. There was emotion behind it because it was the last song I played with my best friends, they where my everything but we where all going to different high schools, we had so much fun I remember looking over at my friend that sat next to me we where both first stand always competing for first chair 😂. We loved playing the whole song through, we would warm up in class by playing without our teacher to do it without a conductor and we where great at least in my mind we where. And so dedicated, it is a beautiful song. We all one day shared what we envisioned when listening to it, I used to see a warrior on the battlefield, ridding on his horse, now all I can see during the song is that last concert we had as a friend group and I can only remember at the end the pure joy and loss I felt. This song and every song from middle school have a special place in my heart, I still talk to my friends from time to time but we have drifted apart sadly and I went through a tough time the last few years without them but this song brings back that hope and pure joy in my heart. I loved my friends with all my heart like family we where all very close being in a very small school we all had classes and lunch together.(Sorry for the life story it’s late and I just want to share). I loved my old orchestra teacher as well she showed use a passion for music and the beauty in it, I have sadly lost the talent I once had and the passion but listening to this gives me that passion back and the drive I have to play the cello. I just wanted to say this, maybe one of my old friends will see this. No matter what I will always love my friends as family even if we have drifted. I love you guys ♥️
2:34 is always so pretty to me, i’m currently playing this in my orchestra and everytime we get to this part it fills me with emotion. it truly is such a beautiful and emotional curated piece, one of my favorites i’ve ever played for sure.
Wow... In my school it's called the "symphonic" band.... Which orchestra students aren't allowed to join. So it's not a true symphony as started in the name.
This is probably my favorite piece I have EVER played. I am a bass player in a, more or less, charity group and this is one of our pieces. The greatest part, we play stuff like this and harder pieces without a conductor! ah, so beautiful.
I'm in seventh grade, but my school strings orchestra is terrible. My teacher is great and I''m not bad I actually think I'm pretty good along with a few other kids in my class, but us good players get blocked out by the students who aren't very good. I don't want to be mean but I wish there was a way to just have the players who are good play together. It would change our reputation because everyone in the school thinks we suck, and its just terrible for people to think we suck even though most of us have potential.
Same! I'm in seventh-grade as well and there are some amazing kids in my class. Although we are the best orchestra in our county, we still get made fun of by our fellow band students because they are way better than us.. That is why this year I am going to go to the talent show with my friends and we are going to play a song that will leave people speechless. I recommend doing the same if you are tired of having a bad a reputation.
I would, but their aren't many good solo songs for violas. I do play a little piano I'll probably do that if I get better over the year. I wrote about how terrible people are to us for an English class. I hope it gets around the school and people stop.
Gotta love all music composed by Soon Hee Newbold. Sure, the pieces are so hard to play but so beautiful at the same time. I’ll never forget when my Orchestra class did Lion City at CMEA. Brings back so much memories from high school
My sister played when she was in middle school, Now, I’m a freshman (9th grader) playing this song before the day of the orchestra festival or concert.
We just started playing last week and we are onto the beginning of the third page, and I'm a first violin...i love and hate being a first violin at the same time
My orchestra is playing this song!!! I am a cellist.... And this song makes me feel so freaking awesome!!! My favorite part is...... The whole thing.. Duh
Jesus, I had to sight read this song at school for a collaboration with an orchestra group from Australia. Here I thought this song was going to be really hard, but it's simple and badass.
I'm a cellist and I'm playing this now with my orchestra group and it looks so hard to learn but it's fun and sounds so good! especially the cello part
Woa. My new best friend can play the chello parts of this in our school's orchestra. She told me about how awesome this song was, and now I realize it. I have to watch her play it now. Anyway, this is awesome!
i really love soon hee newbold. i played perseus the other day in a concert and i loved it. i checked out some other songs and like...i dunno. i just love their songs.
playing this for our end-of-year 7th grade concert. Even though we, (the violas) had practically no melody, still felt like a bad ass with those 12/8 rhythms.
I'm sooooo jealous of you, I'm in the seventh and eighth honors orchestra but we don't even try it, the high schoolers play it my teacher is so unfair!!!
EVerytime I go to practice this song at home I have to pull this up and play with it. I love this song it's so beautiful an d reminds a me private of the carribean -3
I'm playing this in orchestra and we r totally epic at it, it reminds me of Narnia (a medly) we played a few years ago (Yes the movie Narnia) and this sound like it belongs outta those movies
What I do not understand is why people go for band than Orchestra.......It is really annoying how people say that BAND is better than ORCHESTRA!!!!!!! Orchestra rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Beside......you guys are good. I am so recommending this to my orchestra director. Keep up the good work!
Thanks for telling me about these songs! They one by Hofeldt was also really good. beautiful piece. I really like Soon Hee Newbold's Lion City. Has a magical touch to it :D Emily Yang
I love that moment when a bunch of people agree that a piece of music sounds awesome.
When I was in the 7th grade, I wanted to play this song so badly. However, I was put into the intermediate orchestra because the orchestra needed people from advanced to lead them and help them out. I was pissed when I found out advanced played this song
Lol
David Wong so your in 11th grade? Lol 2020
He said when he WAS in 7th grade, which means he's probably 8th or above 4 years ago, so he must be 12th or already graduated
The Doge Poe yea I can SEE that. That’s why I PUT the “?”.
Umm okay?
1:04 is where this music really hits me. it touches my soul in ways i can't even begin to describe, but I can definitely say that it always makes me cry :') I so can't wait to perform this piece and bring forth the same emotions that I'm feeling right now, to my audience.
OMG SAME
Well. What you explained is they definition of music. Emotions put through in beautiful sounds to an audience
Na, it’s just catchy
3:14-3:22 always makes me tear up. For some reason I imagine some ex-warriors at their old age, with their surviving buddies, thinking about everything they've been through and how their golden years went by so fast and now the new generation of warriors will go on without them. Maybe I'm reading too deep into this lol.
It makes me tear up too. Not because of the soldiers, but because I play this in a full orchestra and flutes have non-stop triplets...
Now that’s the only thing I think of lmao
“We did it buddy”
I think that part is the peak and the winning scene of the war
art is all about interpretation. this could very well be what the director wanted it to sound like. definitely read into pieces of art and music.

Not going to lie but I felt like a total bad ass playing this song 😂
I can totally relate to that, we're playing this in Golden Strings(The best orchestra at my school) and it feels awesome!
+xXAT_LONGBOARDERXx Hahaha, our advanced orchestra is called Silverstrings...
+Joel & Karin Buursma lol ours is just called strings orchestra
Me too
Wow... In my school it's called the "symphonic" band.... Which orchestra students aren't allowed to join. So it's not a true symphony as started in the name.
Playing this now in my orchestra- I am a cello and I have to say this is one of the most fun pieces I have ever played!
I'm a cellist myself and this is probably one of the best pieces my orchestra has ever played. Love it!
Same. I am a cellist myself and everyone in my section loves it
I wish I could play this but I'm still a cello player :D
are you guys in a middle or high school orchestra?
We are the secondary group at the high school here. AKA the freshmen
This is probably my favorite piece I have EVER played. I am a bass player in a, more or less, charity group and this is one of our pieces. The greatest part, we play stuff like this and harder pieces without a conductor! ah, so beautiful.

That was 5 years ago but still congrats
1 cello, 2 bass, 1 viola, 1000000 violins...
DigiKrypt typically more like “3 cellos, 0/1 basses, 1 viola and 10000000 violins”
Nah 0.25 basses 5 cellos 14 violas and
1000000000000000000000000000000000000 violins ...
My orchestra is 4 basses, 2 cellos, 5 violas and like 12ish violins
Playing this right now. Being the only double bass in my orchestra can make this song confusing. But really enjoy this c:
I'm a double bassist too but like it's boring. U always get rest and other dumb stuff. I should've chose Cello
Who thinks this should be the song for the credits of a marvel movie?
Oh yeah that would be super awesome
Me
That’s what it was made to sound like
The 46 people who disliked this song are probably in Chorus or Band, not Orchestra.
3:14 - 3:23 Is a amazing part I would love to have that part, if they had it instead for viola. :) But nice job 1st and 2nd's! ;)
I recommended it to my teacher and now we are playing it! I'm so happy to do a solo part! I love this song!
I love playing this song it brings so much emotion.

I'm in seventh grade, but my school strings orchestra is terrible. THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF MY FAVORITE PIECES BEFORE THE ELEMENTS
Jesus, I had to sight read this song at school for a collaboration with an orchestra group from Australia. Here I thought this song was going to be really hard, but it's simple and badass.
In 2 weeks I will be playing this song with high schools and my Elementary friends and I am going to be conducted by Soon Hee Newbold!
Mah fingers hurt....🖐🔥🖑🔥
I love the cello part....
I'm a cellist and I'm playing this now with my orchestra group and it looks so hard to learn but it's fun and sounds so good! especially the cello part
It vaguely reminds me of Last of the Mohicans or Pirates of the Caribbean. Great recording nonetheless.
I'm playing this song for my advanced orchestra concert... OMG love this so much!!!!!
i played this in seventh grae for full, and its still one of my favorite songs :))
Amazing! I've never felt so much power portrayed in a song before!
Go violins!
0:30 Pirates of the Caribbean
I rock this on bass
the dying Borden when the conductor is talking to other sections
Reminds me of Spirit Stallion of the Cimmaron :-)
it does :')
playing this for our end-of-year 7th grade concert. Even though we, (the violas) had practically no melody, still felt like a bad ass with those 12/8 rhythms.
WE PLAYING THIS RIGHT NOW

I'm sooooo jealous of you, I'm in the seventh and eighth honors orchestra but we don't even try it, the high schoolers play it my teacher is so unfair!!!

Did your stand partner play first violin bottom solo?
Our Advanced Orchestra Kids love this tune. I put together a Sen. John McCain video tribute to play behind this. Perfect title and music for him.
Beautiful music.
Wow this is such an epic song! I wish we could play this in my school orchestra. I'm going to beg my teacher until she assigns it to us. X3

Would make an awesome pokemon theme
I'm playing this in orchestra and we r totally epic at it, it reminds me of Narnia (a medly) we played a few years ago (Yes the movie Narnia) and this sound like it belongs outta those movies
This song sounds like Pirates and the Avengers.
Its because they have more experience being in band than in orchestra
. I'm in Band and orchestra and i think both of them are great.
The orchestra I'm in is playing this, and the violins and low brass really compliment the song
LOve it its like a song that people make before the go to war and the leader is making a speech
Just played the song in the Acushnet Classic Ensemble. Warrior Legacy was made for them on their 10th or 20th anniversary.
Keep up the good work!
uuhhhhhhhh, band is better, and there is band in this song
I also think so. I recommended it to my Orchestra Conductor. He says we can play it at the graduation for the seniors :3
4:01 Playing then tremolos *LIKE A BOSS*
A very good piece.
I like how the song sounds like it's title!😊

Emily Yang
also Perseus is super cool. Has the Warrior Legacy kind of feel :)
Oh man. Soon Hee Newbold... Great memories.
1:10 reminds me of the movie Spirit for some reason
We are using this as the basis for a marching band show this year. It translates very well to the band idiom.
playing this in orchestra, and im loving it!
At school I'm playing this.... But the symphony orchestra version. =D It's so friggin' COOL.
I in 6th grade, honors orchestra, 6 7 and 8th graders are all playing it. you should come, WE ROCK THE SCHOOL YAAAAAASSSSSSS
