I mistakenly excluded the Audi Q3 because I simply found the styling very unimaginative. You have shown me that it is very well constructed using only the very best materials and supremely comfortable to travel in which I did not expect. That 1.4 litre engine would seem to be a high point.

It was one of the nicest cars we had ever had on the channel at the time, and Mr Franks particularly liked it, although the infotainment screen was a bit rubbish by 2018.

Thanks ever so much indeed, Matt! My videographer will be really pleased to hear that. He is brilliant. So pleased to hear that you enjoyed it, we are filming three more this week... Our attempt at a more comic one is as follows, if you are interested: th-cam.com/video/XiSp8MYT5zA/w-d-xo.html

I think that I have really excluded Q3s and Q5s unfairly because you and Rebecca Jackson and Matt Watson have given them very positive reviews, especially this 1.4 petrol.
Now I am really really looking forward to the MG HS 1.5 petrol from both yourself and Alex.
Much more interesting when there is a known quantity to compare with.
    Thank you for the tip.

This was one of the nicest cars we ever featured on the channel. It was a very late first generation car, and at the time we only reviewed cars belonging to people I knew. The car rode well over some quite poor roads, it was very nicely made and it handled well too. There is a review of the HS 1.5 Manual on Tweed Jacket Reviews we filmed in 2019, the ownership report will be out next week. The main problems with the Q3 were the price and the ancient infotainment system.....

Great vid. Balanced review. My wife loved the car [likes Audis], I hated the price [ cheap man]. You are number six.

I am not a number, I am a free man! Thanks Neil, it is a lovely car, but Audis are a little pricey, and I would probably just buy a Ssangyong Korando or an MG HS if it were up to me, which saves around £10,000 model for model, and you get a seven year warranty! Mind you, the quality would not be anywhere near a Q3, so I can absolutely see why Naomi bought it, and it's a very easy car to recommend.

Excellent review, the best thing about the car is the colour , very like my 1985 Lhasa green Audi 90. Given the choice I would rather have that car back , than the newer Audi , I know , I’m odd !

Thanks very much indeed, Richard! It was indeed the nicest car that we had filmed up until that point, and my long-suffering videographer Mr Franks really liked it. I would love to drive an Audi 90, though!

Quality car of course, but I'd be doubtful about paying that VW/Audi "premium" .
Very nice review and thanks for all the ...... Information!
The Q3 is somewhat different to a Lotus Seven or a Mini-Moke, I have to say.
    Be seeing you.....

Yes, she's a beautiful car, but she is a bit pricey... I have seen one of the Mini Mokes used in The Prisoner in person as well as a replica of the Lotus, so no doubt I will be seeing you soon in a video about Patrick McGoohan's finest achievement, and the cars used therein...

Can't say that I ever liked this silly shape. Build and reliability should be faultless and the interior should be the best in class. I just don't like how it looks I'm afraid.

    • @lloydvehicleconsulting

It's one of these shapes that one either loves or hates, I think. Yes, the interior was lovely, in spite of that tiny pop out touchscreen. I prefer the SsangYong Tivoli, of course.
