Probably the absolute best hiking-tour video I have ever watched. I've skied many times, many years ago in the general area of your tour. I find the videography mesmerizing, the music stirring and enchanted, what a job to both of you with superb editing. Sorry about the illness, it happens. More of this kind of presentation, please!! What a great video Eric! Brought me a lot of great memories of my TMB hiking specially when I noted that I AM IN YOUR VIDEO in col du Bonhomme at 11:34 in middle of sheep, even, I am pretty sure we crossed each other and said a cold "bonjour" in the map where your friend was making a sandwich haha . Awesome video you and your friend captured all the beauty and spectacular views of TMB. Thanks for sharing, got emotional watching it.
Amazing video. Bring back good memories of TMB. 👏🏻 6 days of TMB with full gear is insane. Especially when you only need 2 days to hike from Les Contamines to Val Veny to Col de Ferret. Even after you fell sick, you managed to hike from Champex Lac to Lacs des Cheserys which is quite a lot. Moreover, many people (include TH-camr) skipped Le Brevent part, so I'm glad to find you were not one of them. 00:00 Intro 3:43 Day 1: Les Houches - Les Contamines 6:58 Day 2: Les Contamines - Col du Bonhomme - Col de la Seigne - Rifugio Elisabetta - Val Veny 15:19 Day 3: Val Veny - Rifugio Maison Vieille - Courmayeur - Rifugio Bonatti - Rifugio Elena - Col de Ferret 23:06 Day 4: Col de Ferret - La Fouly - Champex Lac [Day 5 rest] 27:25 Day 6: Champex Lac - Trient - Refuge du Col de Balme - Lacs des Cheserys 39:24 Day 7: Lacs des Cheserys - La Flegere - Le Brevent - Les Houches

@@andrewfolk5283 My buddy and I did it in 10 days, which seemed to be the average when we asked other hikers. We came across a very fit couple doing it in 7, but I can assure you, unless you're extremely fit AND doing it UL / donkey carrying your gear, It's going to insanely rigorous. ~5k vert every single day. That said, if you can even do part of it, I'd strongly recommend. The views are insane.
I fell in love with Mont Blanc hiking the TMB. If you are able to come back one day, I would recommend the variants and taking a day of (or staying half a day) in Courmayeur, taking the cable car up to Punta Hellbronner. The views are breathtaking up there. And maybe even taking the tiny cable cars from there over to Aiguille du Midi and back. That's such a wild and beautiful ride.
DUUUDE!! Being your videographer would be the best job in the freakin world! 😂 Love what you’re doin with your channel and these longer videos, beautiful stuff man keep up the great work!
Haha it's a great job if you like constantly stopping for shots! But thanks friend, I'm really drawn to the longer style of video and letting people immerse themselves.
I usually watch backpacking/wilderness adventure videos because I like to backpack. I find it calming. I will watch hours of video from videographers Lost Lakes, Xander Budnick, and Kraig Adams. I am adding to that list Eric Hanson. Your videography is epic. Side note I have found for me one or two odorless garlic soft gels do a fantastic job of getting rid of food poisoning. I always carry a few with me when I backpack. A day of misery turns into one hour.
Really pleasant to watch, especially after I just finished the TMB myself. No gondolas, no complaining about pains, just the real thing! Great accomplishment truly!😊
I think you did 2 tours, setting up cameras to catch you walking into/out of the shot, and then having to go back to retrieve the camera. Even with Luc there! Breathtaking! I was there with you the whole way!
Simply beautiful. My wife and I did the TMB 5 years ago. A memory that i revisit often. If those that are watching are thinking about it, go and do it. It's definitely worth it. Even if you only do sections.

Thank you for the beautiful trekking tour video. I will do Tour du Mont Blanc next summer, so I started to watch videos to gather information. Yours is by far the most beautiful video I've watched. Music was also beautiful and well matched with the imagery. You encouraged me to train for this trek , so I can experience the beauty.
I was astonished by your story of what is a case of severe Government Overreach on the Kyle Hates Backpacking Podcast. I had seen a few of your videos but now am Subscribed and, with work like I've enjoyed here, will be sharing as well. It's a bit heartbreaking to know that unethical Rangers could cause a Backpacker such extreme grief. You have tons of support that if organized, could bring a huge Public Outcry on the incident. Simply outstanding - thanks for sharing!
Much appreciated!
Love this video! I did the tour August of 2023, and it is the best thing i have ever done.
Nice work! It's quite the accomplishment.
You’re a hell of a filmmaker Eric. Keep it up
This
Is
Spectacular!
Thank you.
Thank you very much!
Wow, you are in much better shape than we were. Doing it in 6 walking days without the cable cars and busses is awesome. Even more since you guys were that ill at a certain point. My wife an I did it in 10 last (early) July and were fully exhausted. Btw: nice to see the surroundings in full summer mode. When we were there there was still a lot of snow. Great video!
Thank you! I wish we had actually slowed down a little more. A couple of the days we crushed miles but didn't take in the experience as much as I'd like. Way to go for you and your wife!
This was absolutely stunning. Well done and thank you
Great video Eric. thanks for sharing. Liked your tent.
Wow, that night montage was epic.
Great hike!
Thank you! It's a fun place to photograph.
How does this video not have a million views? Amazing work!
Well thank you! I'm glad to hear that. It's an incredible trail that you will surely love! Enjoy it!
I did the TMB as well last summer. Memories... Thank you for the gorgeous films!
You're welcome! Such a special place.
The best video so far in Tour Du Mont Blanc, I missed counting how many days you hike, but It was so amazing though.
owh it was 7 days of epic adventure.
Best video? That's high praise! Thank you.
Yeah! I watched it twice just to see how many days took you to finish the hike. Amazing 🤘
Quite excellent Sir.. 👍
Much appreciated!

Absolutely the BEST hike ever! Simply spectacular! TY😎
It's one of the best treks for a reason! I absolutely loved my time there. Thanks!
Just, wow.
Super videography , fantastic audio and choice of music. I enjoyed watching that entire video especially the milky way Timelapse’s
Thank you! That Milky Way shot had me suuuper excited.
We LOVED this video! Are you planning to do another and maybe talk about the towns? We would like to section hike some of this.
Yes I plan on doing a more in depth video about details, planning, logistics, etc.
Great video, very nice shots and a great performance! Thanks for taking if with you! 🤙
Much appreciated!
Epic intro! Absolutely awesome video Eric!
Well shoot, thank you!
So awesome! Dan and I love seeing a Pro tent out there. This is on our "to do" list...hope we can make it happen soon.
Wishing you the very best, Eric. I'll be spending a great deal more time here. Thank You! ... Mike.
Wonderful film. Teriffic scenery. Than you so much for sharing this.
Thank you!
WOW, this one is epic!
Thank you so much!
