Nice catch! Even low(er) tier "Akais" are nice amps putting other brands in their place - at least according to my ears... I generally prefer them to Sony's and Denon's outings for sure. A common quality seems to be a really hefty sound(due to chunky transformers) with a pleasant upper region.
Your very lucky with this one Drew $55 dollars only wowww I’ll be damn if there’s a price like that here in U.S. I love your country cos you can find a price like that cheap.
One on sale here in Poland in better condition but for 563 euro on olx. Big difference in price. Hopefully you gave the seller a bit more than 50 euro. Curious what you'll think of the sound.
Yes because although I believe that both made very good sounding product, the looks from the grundig and saba devices where not as beautiful as the Japanese products. Also very hard to resell.
@@thefreestylefrEaK I don't care if it is working..whatever you say....I'm an electronic's technician and your telling me they last hA 😆 I repair them I should know what lasts and what don't that's the biggest issue with those kinda receivers the output chips blow out like a fuse there garbage...can't beat a transistor drive Receiver they have better power output more stable and can take a beating not like a chip drive receiver I think you need to talk to a audio freak like me then u'll understand why transistor drive Receiver's go for the money that there worth...why do u think that Marantz,,,sansui,, pioneer ( transistor drive amps ) are going for over 500-15.000 dollars so thank u very much now u may understand if you ever work on one...
I love my place, not big, I wish my stereo room was twice as big but for the rest it’s super. I can spin my sound pretty loud without having problems with the neighbours
@@vintagestereo sounds good to me that's were I need to live too but I think your neighbor would not like me tho cause the stuff I have there won't be no walls left 😆

Another great SCORE. It would be interesting to test the DAC with the bluesound node streamer, optical or coax.

These akai references masters are top noch sound quality
@@vintagestereo that does not matter if it's chip drive it's not last long..
@@anthonycoach4551 Yeah you're right, "its not last long....". Its just still working after 30 years. You're so smart (not).

the reference series, am73, am75, am93, am95 are the second best together with the am2800, am2850 and am2950
I sah a guy that repaired an akai 9500. Its a Monster, but not Service friendly. I send you the Video link.
