Obsolete rusted and broken dishwasher rack repair

  • Video shows how I repaired a dishwasher rack from my Maytag dishwasher for which replacement parts were no longer available. I used 1/8 inch diameter brass rods from a hardware store, Original JB Weld epoxy, and covered it with ReRack dishwasher rack paint from Amazon. It beat the alternative of getting a new dishwasher.

      Still functional, the white paint is coming off the JB Weld in spots and some rust stains are showing around the cracks in the paint, but no rust-throughs or JB weld failures that I can see. You might want to just skip the toxic paint stuff and just use the JB Weld.

      @@diywithdave3186 awesome, thanks for the reply! I just spent a week fighting with Samsung on the phone to find out they don't even make the racks anymore for the dishwasher I have that was made only 5 years ago!
      Never buy Samsung appliances. They break and they don't stand by them. #protip
