LYRICS:
it’s too soon to tell when you will exhale and know yer good enough
alone is just a word for it won’t happen fast
everyone knows that
just try to drink it up
make like you still give a fuck
i hurt you ‘cause i love you most
tantrum while you hold me close
and i know you know this is how it always goes
i’m lightning i’m thunder
can i get a little closer?
chaos and recover
can i get a little closer?
no one is at fault
unknown was the cause if you can call it that
unknown is just a word for couldn’t get a grasp
everyone knows that
come on baby suck it up
don’t you know yer good enough
i hurt you cause i love you most
tantrum while you hold me close
and i know you know this is how it always goes
if you could take it back
cut a little slack and back away slowly
if only i had known
was there something i could’ve said
to make you back away slowly?
i hurt you cause i love you most
tantrum while you hold me close
and i know you know this is how it always goes
i need you most - เพลง
Amazing talent! Canadian pride!
I came here through a T-shirt of the Area 506 Festival in Saint John a friend gave me recently. I haven't been in Canada for a couple of decades and I'm checking out all the bands on the shirt. Cool band.
This video is like a Mini Move. and their Singer should be up for a Juno for best performance in a Video. Period
Such a good song and perfectly suiting someone feeling messed up romantically. That's me right now. So keep up the good work July Talk, this song is Lightening In A Bottle, so to speak.
Wow. Just wow.
When I was younger, like 15, 16 and everything was terrible at home (and living in an abusive home, that was... every day pretty much), there were a lot of time where I'd run off in the rain with my Discman and Garbage's first album down this path through a wooded area. Stomping and dancing through puddles in my jeans and Doc Martens, listening to Only Happy When It Rains until I went from crying to laughing. I just flashed back there and I don't have words for the emotions. Wow. It's a feeling of working things out and whatever it comes from... something HAPPENS in the rain... It just does.
(Aside: All the Footloose vibes on the beach, am I alone in this?) Love this so damn much.
I agree completely. I felt like she was just doing her thing and it was so dramatic. I loved it.
@Pyjama Shark "Some people are too broken to stop breaking others" My mother, in a phrase. There's no reaching her, sadly. My sister's still trying. I walked away to save myself.
My pathway cut through a school soccer field to get there so I can see your field as you describe it... How many of us, I wonder, have had that feeling, that moment of finding the rain, and just being.... okay for that moment? That surreal split second of peace in a field, in a forest, on a path? Maybe none of us were alone out there, and that was the magic.
I hope you're safe and well now, and know you deserve all of the love.
How are you today. Diamond tongue brought me here. First time watching it.
Well now I want to dance in the rain.
This song makes me sad but like in a good way? Wonderful song
Remember seeing them play in Austin, TX right before Catfish & The Bottleman came out, had no idea who they were but after their performance i was hooked. Amazing band
This is cathartic, soothing and wholesome.
Leah is really killing it with these videos. Such a great actor!
This song is amazing.
I don't think the words have yet been invented to describe just how freaking good this song is :-)
@@danielr3522 Agreed!
I truely can't wait to listen to the whole album; so excited! ❤🇨🇦

Your music has this magical power of resonating with me on a level that gives me chills.
New 🌠album!! ❤️🇨🇦 I want to sit on a rock by the NS river and listen to Leah and Peter.
I literally heard this for the first time half an hour ago and it's been playing in a loop since then
Love this song

1:56 That look ...
Great song and video
Amazing like always, i love you guys so much
Nice to see there's one band keeping the '80s Toronto sound alive!
I love everything about this video and the new album. LOVE YOU GUYS
Wow!
Wow this is beautiful and so perfectly timed for the current state of the world. Beautiful video
...when you love yourelf. Love her 😍🤩
The feeling you get when listening to 80s music. So glad there is still REAL Fucking Music being made! And yes footloose/pretty in pink Vibes all the way!
Woohooo! ❤❤
Loving the calmer tunes, keep the good tunes coming :)
Wow
Not sure how I feel about the style they have moved to, I love the upbeat loud and in your face sound they blew up with. This is different and I am undecided. Good to see they are still putting out music though.
Agreed. Definitely more of a pop feel.
same
They've made Peter's voice too soft and quiet on this album. That voice is an important part of what makes them unique. Aside from that though it is a really well done album. A caterpillar doesn't stay as a caterpillar forever. Times change, people change, music changes.
Yes it's a great album.. But after listening to it all the way through... I thought it is missing Peter's unique loud gravel vocals that's a big part of this band sound, but it still a great album.
Pretender and Life of the party still have that old July talk feel to me. I still love the whole album. It grows on you real quick, the song champagne is growing on me quick as well.
Good track!!
Пожалуйста, живите!!
🇧🇷
4:20; nice.
MUITO BOM PORRA
impeccable
I was really hoping you would of won the Polaris Prize this year.
Esta canción publicitaria me tiene arto
I miss the conversational, back and forth, heavy contrast from previous albums. This is fine. But its not the same, theres no tension.
She's a cutie...
Creepy
nope
This SUCKS,,, I was here for blondie with Chris rea,,,, like the old tunes,,,,, She has a great voice but it was emphasized by his!
