Great tutorial...you sure put lots of thought a patients to do this...you ROCK!!! I have tons of MS punches but learned some new things from you 4 sure!! TFS
Thank you to take the time to show us how to use these punches I have a few and I am going to do a few cards and see just how wonderful they come out :) In His Grace, Lorisa aka ellescrapper
TFS. I have a lot of punches that I've used just traditionally. But oh my, I'm getting them back out to try your ideas. Just an FYI, they make great stencils too for wet soft pastels, ink, acrylics. Don't know if you dabble there. Thanks again.
If you're going to do both of the corners along the fold you can just put the whole corner in the punch and punch through. The trick you showed is only if you're going to do one folded corner. The only problem would be that the punch might not go through both layers but I have never had that problem with my MS punches. It always goes through both corners along the fold.
Your tips and tricks are great. I do have problems with the border punches...I can't line them up so they sometimes over lap.I also have problems getting the paper out to move down. If you have any thoughts on this I'd appreciate some advice. Your stuff is absolutely beautiful.
these are such great tips for different use of different punches! Thank you! I just wonder whether you couldn't punch the card stock while it was folded. Then you only punch 4 corners et voila! without lining and wings and stuff...Could you? (I'm new with papercrafts and got myself only few basic punches so far. I've never used the corner ones before...so I might be wrong)
Hi! Thanks for the great ideas. I had no idea corner punches could take a flat edge. I'm eager to go inspect mine. Is there a reason why you don't punch the card while it's folded so it does both sides at once?
You can use an ahesive machine like xyron sticker maker or liquid glue and just put small dot of glue in key placers to keep it down. Another way to would be to use a brad in the centers of the medallion.
Appareintly only certain corner punches will work to make a medallion. I've tried the Daisy and Monarch Butterfly and couldn't get them to work with the medallion. What punch have you had success with, so I might find one to be successful with!
I dont know the name of the punch I use since I purchased these punches some time ago at Ross. Most of my Martha Stewarts punch around the page punches are from Ross and I do not have the pair to it. That is why I mix them with each other and dont know the names of them. But i think you will have more luck with this technique with lacy punches and not shape punches. I do have a spider on and that one looks weird when I try to use them as a medallion. I hope this helps, thank you for watching.
FYGJA - NO, you cannot cut 2 layers of card stock!! lol.. It would be too hard for the cutter to work properly. You'll find using any of the punches that after a certain amount of usage that it will be too dull to be able to cut away the inside pieces. I was told to cut alcan foil to sharpen the blades again, but that is very messy and didn't work well for me. My solution was to go out and buy another punch the same. Lots of good ideas come from TH-cam..lol. Thanks for posting this!!
it must have been my brother who is schizophrenia. He sometimes will talks loud when he trying to drown out the voices. Honesty, if i want until he is asleep, I never would get anything done.
Oh my goodness, I have been making cards for over 10 years and I have learned a lot of NEW things watching your video! Thank you for the tutorial!

You can punch thru the corners without linning the wings and it will look good.

What do you use as a glue to get these to stick onto paper? Thanks!
