I actually prefer it over my watch 5 pro which i traded in and ended up getting the 47mm version for 100 bucks so not too terrible. I dont think much in the design is going to change its more about hardware and software improvements. People dont have to upgrade every year but there is a market for new buyers that dont currently have one. I donthink watches should be 2 year updates instead of annual.
I like that they brought back the rotating bezel this year. Having it on my watch 4 classic improves the experience greatly. The slimmer bezel on the 6 does make it look a lot less classy then the 4 though, imo.

Then 6 classic came out I tried it in store on my wrist and compare to 5 pro... then I bought 5 pro. I got my 5 Pro about the same time and I am trading it in for the 6 Classic for one reason: the plastic on the back. I am among the group of people who have a strong allergic reaction to the plastics Samsung is using on their earbuds and now the Watch 5 Pro. The 6 classic appears to have gone back to the metal back that the 4 Classic had. I'm losing some money with the trade-in, but a watch I can't wear isn't doing me any good. 5:23 @MikeOBrienMedia On my GW4, there's a setting in gps activities that says workout start. When you tap on workout start you can choose between manual and countdown. Manual lets the watch find gps first, then lets you know when it has secured gps. Countdown like normal, starts the workout right away. I have the watch one ui 5 beta.
So here is how i am interpreting this video. As long as your current 4 is in good condition, you don't have any good reason to upgrade. If you have money to burn, all good, but it probably wont feel like much of an upgrade. No more software updates for the 4 but the experience on the 6 is about the same and probably won't be that different going forward. As long as the 4 continues working, it feels up to date enough. Screen/body/bezel is updated but are not night and day differences. Battery: as long as the 4 continues to get a days worth of battery, no need to mind the details, the 6 does better but not by that much.
The little sponges are there to protect the door - when you are in a tight space and you open the door and smash into something you won't have the door scratched because the sponge is there
@@Alexchii In Korea, parking spaces are very tight, to the point where you will end up touching the car next to it (just so you can barely squeeze out). the sponge is there to stop from scratching your car but mainly the other. its a curtesy thing (reason why the blue sponge is located at the furthest point of the door) when u nick a door, the other car usually gets a bigger scratch w dents. its to stop that from happening. ppl don't think that blue sponge looks cool like he's saying... and yes, I'm from Korea.
Part of the problem you talked about being weird running around with a classic-looking watch is because of the color, the silver draws a lot of attention (the good and bad way)
The Samsung 4-Classic is now 1/4th the price to buy refurbished in excellent condition and its trade-in value is now moot. It's a no-brainer to me which I should buy as the only key difference is a slight durability and looks issue and a slight percent increase in battery life. For 70 bucks, a GW4 classic is a good pick-me-up.
Watch 6 Classic looks amazing, I ordered the 47mm LTE to go along with my new Fold 5 😊😊 I will use my Classic Watch 4 for work and my 6 for play! The icing on the cake is I only paid $240 when ordering along with Z Fold 5!
Bought a Watch4 Classic from Amazon Renewed. Was in brand new condition with no issues...for only $89.00 on sale. Cant beat that. Only things i wish the 4 had that the 6 does is the slightly larger display and Samsung Wallet. Currently watch4 only has Samsung Pay, so it doesn't have the ability or have memberships and tickets on it like the 6 does wothout a third party app.
Appreciate this video, man! I went ahead and ordered the GW6C and trading in my GW4C. Thanks for the clear-up on the whole GPS thing. I thought it meant with no GPS, there was ZERO GPS capabilities, and I thought, well that's just weird!? I don't run outside though, but if I ever do, good to know that this feature is there, haha. Mostly upgrading for the faster charging and the flatter look. Plus, as you've mentioned the GW4C will lose out on updates soon, and if Samsung is continuing this trend of every other year updates to their classic and pro lines, upgrading every two years doesn't seem like a bad idea. Aloha 🤙🏻
Great review, I've ordered the 6 classic, it will be my first smart watch, I nearly went for the 5 pro, but the lack of roataing bezel put me off, glad they brought it back, I ordered the 1 TB tab S9 ultra at the same time, and got a £600 discount
To be honest, if I would upgrade from my 4 classic to the 6 classic is because of it's newer and slimmer bezels. The spec bump is not that big of a gap. I would just get it for the looks, since the classics are mostly for fashion instead of health/sport tracking.
I agree with you. When I go out I use the watch 4 classic with a black metal strap. When I want longer battery life or doing sport activities I use the watch 5 pro
I bought this watch thanks to your video. I'm coming from the Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. It is a major upgrade even though the display has only gone up by 1mm in size. They've nailed with the whole lot. Even the Watch band. It's a lot softer than on the 4.
Galaxy watch 4/5/6 regular 44mm have more futuristic modern design especially silver. I have Watch 4 44mm silver paired with milanese loop and I am very pleased. I wanted a GW 6 47mm essentially the biggest classic without the bezel because I don't want flushed screen. Anyway both are beautiful.
I did the upgrade with the reservations, because of incentives and other, BUT REALLY REALLY: I knowingly wasted $200. It is just a minor upgrade between 4 and 6 classics. No one should spend $200 to have thinner bezzle and slightly better glass.
I just bought a watch 4 classic. I have been rocking the original galaxy watch lmao. It would give me almost 3 days battery! I'm worried it's going to be worse 😅but my watch was already very haggered and started randomly restarting 😢

I will upgrade from my watch 4 classic, the battery has been really bad. I always have to charge it at night. It barley lasts a day. So im very exited for my 6 classic to arrive. I love the thinner bezals and new watch bands!
I really hate this approach that Samsung is taking for selling new hardware: "Our old hardware, which is basically similar, will not get software updates anymore". Not cool, I find it really hard to buy into planned obsolescence. Frankly it pushes me away from all of these products. I am totally fine of the products not being good enough for modern use, but not this way when they are good enough in hardware, but new gen is pushed on without any justification based on its actual better performance.
i bought the galaxy watch 4 classic brand new on ebay the other day for $100. went on samsung yesterday to purchase the s24 ultra and saw there were some really good watch deals. i ended up trading in the watch 4 classic and getting $200 for it towards the watch 6 classic. with the other promotions and discounts i ended up paying $120 for the watch 6 classic in 47mm. so excited to get it. thats why i love samsung. they always have such amazing deals for upgrading and if you talk to someone in chat they will usually offer you even more discounts and promotions if you ask for them. thanks for the great video. glad i upgraded.
In Korea, parking spots are pretty small compare to ones in America since its size haven't changed for decades while modern cars are getting bigger and bigger. So when you open the door after parking the car, there's high chance that door will smack the next parked car. That's why blue sponges exists, I even buy different sponges not to dent the other cars.
About the watch 4...... I have a few doubts. 1. Can I connect the watch to a Samsung tablet? 2. In the Bluetooth version, can I use the browser only by connecting to a wifi and not to the phone?
i kept thinking the watch 6 was the white one but was frustrated to see the size of the black watch was being bigger.. until 7:00 it came clear which one was which one.
Was the GW4 you tested new. An older battery inherently won't l ast as long as a new one. Just curious. GW6 sure looks nice. Thinking seriously about it.
I was looking at Samsung watches for days and could not decide which one to get, but after watching this video, I made my choice. I have never owned a Samsung watch before, but I have other Samsung devices (phone, buds, tablet). Since this was my first Samsung watch, and I did not want to break the bank, I went for the Watch4 Classic. Also because I wanted to experience the rotating bezel 😊. I will look at probably upgrading next year!

Great comparison. Been waiting for a side-by-side.. Can you tell the weight difference between the 2? The Watch 5 Classic is supposed to be about 25% heavier, but I do not know how much you would be able to tell a half ounce difference.. I bought pre-ordered a 6 Classic 47mm and a 6 regular 44mm... I could not decide between the two and no direct comparisons, so I will keep the one i like and sell or gift the other..

How, if the 6 is still in preorder and ships in 9 days?
@@Bruno-ff8wfsome people get it earlier. I had the option to get delivered today, but as I'm not in the country I have it delivered for when I return.
@@Bruno-ff8wfthey started shipping them early. I bought mine in the store 3 days ago and they had stock.
I actually just had my GW5 quit on me recently and my local best buy had both the GW6C and the GW4C. I went with the 4 to save money and it still feels like an upgrade because now i have the rotating bezel.
I bought the GW4 Classic in 2022 and have no regrets. The design is cool, the functionality suits me. I see no reason to change.
The little sponges are there to protect the door - when you are in a tight space and you open the door and smash into something you won't have the door scratched because the sponge is there
I've solved this by looking before I open the door. It's pretty crazy, I know.
@gochurush in america no one cares and dents the crap out of your car because its your fault for having a nice car.. lol
I have the 4 classic and I love it. I will for sure update it for the 6 classic but probably next year when the price drops
Just order a GW4 Classic. Upgrading from the OG Galaxy Watch! Thanks for the video comparison!
I loved that this video was also like a Korea vlog instead of just a review, thanks!! ❤️
Exactly the comparison I needed. Many thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Watch 6 Classic looks amazing, I ordered the 47mm LTE to go along with my new Fold 5 😊😊 I will use my Classic Watch 4 for work and my 6 for play! The icing on the cake is I only paid $240 when ordering along with Z Fold 5!
Congratulations 🤩
425mah battery scam. Hahahahags
@johnm7882 just curious as to why watch4 for work? I think watch6 would look more appealing. 🤔
@@johnm7882 thanks
@kasshyapp4458 I work maintenance in a high end building in Manhattan, I don't want to beat up the new watch lol
Thank uuuu for this video. Rocking my 4 classic since day one.
What camera did you use to record this footage? The quality is amazing 👌🏼
I just got a Galaxy Watch4 Classic! It's my first smart watch 😁 Got it brand new and sealed for half price.
I like the vlog style of this video. Well done.
Aloha 🤙🏻
Every 3 years sounds better to the wallet
Great review, I've ordered the 6 classic, it will be my first smart watch, I nearly went for the 5 pro, but the lack of roataing bezel put me off, glad they brought it back, I ordered the 1 TB tab S9 ultra at the same time, and got a £600 discount
Hows the 6 doing? Its 3x more expensive than the 4 and im only after texting so im not sure if its worth it.
Bezel is back baby!!!! I just ordered the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic. Also got a good credit for my Galaxy Watch 4 trade in.
Thank you. You saved me 200quid
It feels too similar really. The battery life isn't much of a gap for 2 years. The health tracking isn't miles different.
I'm guessing the blue sponges helps protect the door (and neighbouring cars) when opening the door in tight parking spaces
@mike Any improvement in haptics over watch 5 pro?
Finally! The comparison I was actually waiting for, it's like you read my mind! 😂
My watch 4 classic now actually last for 2 days. Which is crazy because it used to be at 30% at night. Now it's at 70%
From updates?

How?

I just bought a watch 4 classic. I have been rocking the original galaxy watch lmao. It would give me almost 3 days battery! I'm worried it's going to be worse 😅but my watch was already very haggered and started randomly restarting 😢
Good video! Was trying to decide if I should upgrade from the 4 Classic. With the trade in value and affiliate discount, $150 for the 6 Classic, I just couldn't pass up.
What affiliate discount. With trade in I can get it down to 200+tax
@@Daviono Search Tim Schofield and the link is in his Watch 6 Classic video.
$50 off. If the discount doesn't apply, just ask Samsung Live chat and they will apply it.
Just got the Watch 4 Classic for a 1/3 of the Watch 6 Classic’s price. I hope I don’t regret it. 😂
I will upgrade from my watch 4 classic, the battery has been really bad. I always have to charge it at night. It barley lasts a day. So im very exited for my 6 classic to arrive. I love the thinner bezals and new watch bands!
How maby years of updates does the watch 4 classic have left?
I really hate this approach that Samsung is taking for selling new hardware: "Our old hardware, which is basically similar, will not get software updates anymore". Not cool, I find it really hard to buy into planned obsolescence. Frankly it pushes me away from all of these products. I am totally fine of the products not being good enough for modern use, but not this way when they are good enough in hardware, but new gen is pushed on without any justification based on its actual better performance.
Thanks for this one. I think you should precise what size you were wearing for this video. Can't wait to watch the actual review of the Classic
I got the 47mm Classic on pre-order in black, can't wait! 😀
i bought the galaxy watch 4 classic brand new on ebay the other day for $100. went on samsung yesterday to purchase the s24 ultra and saw there were some really good watch deals. i ended up trading in the watch 4 classic and getting $200 for it towards the watch 6 classic. with the other promotions and discounts i ended up paying $120 for the watch 6 classic in 47mm. so excited to get it. thats why i love samsung. they always have such amazing deals for upgrading and if you talk to someone in chat they will usually offer you even more discounts and promotions if you ask for them. thanks for the great video. glad i upgraded.
I need help deciding what size to get , i got small to mediuk arms simjlar ish to yours , i also want the silver as it looks very ncie any advice
Definitely choose the smaller variant
@@icedbun101doesn't look too big on his wrists tho
Is a Brand new 4 classic good for 80 out the door?
In Korea, parking spots are pretty small compare to ones in America since its size haven't changed for decades while modern cars are getting bigger and bigger. So when you open the door after parking the car, there's high chance that door will smack the next parked car. That's why blue sponges exists, I even buy different sponges not to dent the other cars.
mike are you wearing the 47mm watch 6 or the 43 & if you are wearing the 47 how large is your wrist ⌚ ⌚
The video I was hoping for🔥
Does your microphone clip not work on your shirts? Just wondering why you're holding it instead of going hands-free.
Hi does the Galaxy watch classic 6 come with rubber or leather strap ? Also can I use spigen case watch on classic 6? It was for classic 4
how much battery life did you end up with? that's the most important specs in here
Was the GW4 you tested new. An older battery inherently won't l ast as long as a new one. Just curious. GW6 sure looks nice. Thinking seriously about it.
Your not crazy real tech fans know you love what you do.
Pls can you compare the watch 5 pro with the 6 classic 47 mm
Hi i hope you are doing well. Can i have the name of your small mic that you have used outside? Tanks
Any chance you can do the same comparison for the Watch6 Classic VS Watch5 Pro?
Trying to make an informed decision on which one to purchase as I feel well overdue for an upgrade coming from the Active2.
Just heard great things about both and because they're similar price, what would be a better buy considering I want one for both everyday and active use. Cheers
Just today, 11/21/23, I decided to trade-in my galaxy watch 4 44mm. For the galaxy watch 6 classic, and I only paid $150 bucks! The galaxy watch 6 classic looks amazing, and the weight makes it feel premium!👍🏾
is it have heart rate on display face ( real time) same Fitbit and Garmin or i need to open app to see my heart rate ???
Just bought a watch 4 last week and so far so good im lovin'it
Hope mine will also good ordered and deliver by Octobed 13 ❤
How are people's watch 4 classic batteries lasting so long? Even without sleep tracking, my watch is dead by early the next day, its so frustrating.
I still have my silver galaxy watch 4 classic and my black galaxy watch 6 classic is arriving next week. Black for every day use, sliver for more formal or fancy gatherings
Are you wearing the 43mm or 47mm W6 Classic?
Great review, Mike. Galaxy Watch 6 Classic it is (when I get around to it).
Although that Watch 4 at half price is still very appealing.
Also, it's inspiring to see you staying so fit. I gotta get back to it. Cheers.
Just ordered the watch 6 classic 47mm and traded in my watch 4 classic for £115 off. I also got another £40 off from Samsung for being a key worker, so I got the new watch £245 so I can't complain!
What is your opinion on the colour of the whatch? Did you like the silver or black more?
And by the way, you video is up until now the best review that I saw about the whatch! Keep up the good work!! 😊
Just have my hands on Watch6 Classic and this is my first smart watch ever, just loving it ☺
what size?
@@jjaisudhan I've got 43 but if you have a little big wrist, just go for 47 I would recommend!
@@SweXperts What is your wrist size in cms or inches? Can you pls share a pic wearing watch in hands!
I'm excited for that 47 mm silver - the thin bezel looks sweet - great video and have fun in South Korea 👍🏼
Bought the GW4 2 years ago still love it lol
Great comparison. Been waiting for a side-by-side.. Can you tell the weight difference between the 2? The Watch 5 Classic is supposed to be about 25% heavier, but I do not know how much you would be able to tell a half ounce difference.. I bought pre-ordered a 6 Classic 47mm and a 6 regular 44mm... I could not decide between the two and no direct comparisons, so I will keep the one i like and sell or gift the other..
I don't even have a smart watch at the moment and I just ordered my 6 classic. It'll be here on release date.😊
Just ordered a 4Classic for €128. A steal imo
Hi, where can I get your watch faces used in this video. They're awesome ❤
My galaxy watch 6 is arriving today I'm upgrading from a GW3 so I'm pretty excited
A camera on these watches would've been a nice addition
I get 3 days out of my Galaxy classic 4. That's pretty damn good.
Thanks for the comparison! I'm stoked for the 6 Classic
