Our VRF Grab Bags (GB) videos are compiled from content from our cameras as Mods and fans spot something neat while watching our cameras. In the GB you will, of course, find a variety of TRAIN content, special trains, maintenance, steam, diesels, interesting rail cars, cool paint schemes and more. You will also find fun people, city events, boats, planes, cars (sometimes going wild) and nature. Thank you for taking the time to sit back and enjoy these highlight reels that we call "Grab Bags"!
Two of our guys got the answer to the cars on the bridge seconds after the Grab Bag was published, lol. Here is a hint, "K" is the first letter. Good luck.
Those are new or refurbished?
Kraaazy cars?
Tempted to say Kelvin and Karen.....
Killer Klown Kars?
Keewatin Railway Company
Nice grafitti free cars on the Big Boy UP train
And a caboose! 😂
Had to look at the first clip again. That was engine no.8536,I thought it was 8586. Engine 8586 was the last SD 50 I operated that was still in Chessie colors.
9:36-11:13 those bi level coaches are for the Keewatin Railway Company in Manitoba Canada. Keewatin Railway is also getting ex Amtrak P40DCs as well.
Vive la Frisco!!
Long Island Rail Road used to have them in 1990’s until 2000
The Big Boy Alco looks great, nice video!🛤🚂
Sure wish I knew someone with a private rail car that needs some company traveling around the country
I wonder if the fawn was able to catch up to its mom at HSC?
She most likely came back over the fence when it was time to feed the little one and they would have gone somewhere else together. Does are wonderful mothers, but this one didn't quite get the fact that her fawn wasn't quiiite big enough to jump the fence yet. Don't worry baby; that day will come...
They look like the Keewatin Railway cars from Albia, IA
Yes, those Keewatin Railway Company cars. Looks like they've finally left for Canada.
The drawbar between the coaches tells me they are ex-LIRR C1 coaches. There were ten built, five sets of two. I’ve worked on four out of the five sets. Good cars. Nice to see them still rolling.
2 of them was post to go to SLWC in oklahoma but they backed out on the deal couldn't get them in time
@@ShadowMWVRR77Thankfully, the Keewatin Railway came to the rescue.
@@zacharycalgher3978 true
that lightning show was beautiful and the music paired with it was amazing
Thank you for ending! Man I miss living there! When we lived in Colorado we had the mountains to the south and Buckley Air Base to the North. Sit on back porch, see the mountains and the jets practicing, what a site! And since hubby was in the air National Guard I even got to go on base and meet and shake President Bushes hand, best time ever!!
Good to see the Passenger Trains at Paradise, Davisville and S. Norwalk Tower. Also, Illinois Terminal and the Yreka Western Boxcar - showing-up again.
The LEF&C Boxcar was interesting to see, with its rusty Peak-roof, but especially the Rivetted construction of the Seam at the sides and ends.
Wow! Excellent catching all the trains in multiple locations, I like them, they're awesome, @Virtual Railfan, thank you very much and have a nice day.
I❤big boy! Man that dude draws a crowd. Can't wait to see him again
Nice to see a steam train running clean like it was meant to do...
Former LIRR coaches, but since when did Keewatin start buying older commuter coaches? They’ve been prosperous enough to buy new stuff for many years now, even under _VIA,_ so I don’t see a need to buy older coaches, update them to Canadian Rail standards, and paint them when they could buy straight from the manufacturer? Surplus is fine and all for a start up(look at Amtrak in the 70’s), but what need is there for a money tree of a commuter rail service to still be buying surplus years later?
1:28 Since I discovered this channel (at the end of last year), it was the first time I saw the Union Pacific train pass here in Ashland.
2:46 Also, I had never seen the BNSF train pass here either. What there was ?
The Great Train Race in La Plata.
Hey Cumberland Maryland clean the bird poop off your camera lens
So, what happened to the little fawn? Did it get reunited with Mom? Did it hop a train to Chicago?
9:50 Those are former Long Island Rail Road C1 cars.
Beautiful meet at Ashland with tow heritage !👍😎❤️
1:14 I just seen these 3 UP engines going thru Jackonboro, SC coming from CSX Bennett Yard in Charleston, SC yesterday (Sunday June 30th)
Never seen an all foreign power move on CSX before.
This is really awesome watching trains from around the country traveling
down the tracks and enjoying it have an awesome Independence Day this
Thursday everyone take care and Thank You.🇺🇲🚂🚃🚃🚃🚃🇺🇲
Can't say what they are but they're double deck Passenger cars
With all the JB Hunt containers on the train at the highways are safer
The cars on the thumbnail are C1s.
Screen-saver ending!! 🤩

*Awesome*
Who says steam is dead? Not all those fans at Laramie...
So good to see--and hear!!--our beloved Big Boy again!
Where is the steam train from Paradise PA
9:48 Keewatin Railway cars i believe

Nice call!!
Hi Virtual Railfan & it's is Randy and i like yours video is Cool & Thanks Virtual Railfan & Friends Randy & Super Cool & Video & Virtual Railfan & Super Cool Big Boy 4014
Can anybody tell me what all the hoo-hah was about in La Plata at about 6:10 with all the cheering and the Union Jack? It looked unusual but I can't find a thing about it anywhere. Thanks for another great one!
"Unofficial" Railroad Days last weekend
@@CNW_Railfan Cool--thank you! It looked as if they were having a lot of fun.
0:42 Amtrak 161 "Arrow" meets Amtrak 82 in Phase VII in Ashland
1:12 UP triple-header on a trashtainer train in Ashland
1:47 NS high hood geep
2:12 bike rider goes right in front of the train
2:44 one BNSF unit on the front and one BNSF unit on the rear of this Military train in Ashland
3:23 NS 8101 leading solo
4:40 NS, BNSF, and CP triple-header
4:48 CSX GEVO and MP15 doubleheading
4:57 that should go to a museum!
6:08 H2 doubleheader
7:42 wind turbines blades train
9:42 these ex-Long Island passenger cars are going to a railway that runs between between The Pas and Lynn Lake, Manitoba. They recently got matching P40s too. Their passenger trains are actually mixed trains that currently operate with PRLX GP40s and ex-Via Rail blue coaches
12:47 NS 1072 leading
14:08 Big Boy 4014 with no diesels and new, clean freight cars. I would rather it pulled those old hoppers in the siding
17:40 Yrkea Western hoppers
17:54 NS 4822 leading
18:53 the two private cars on the Lake Shore Limited again
19:43 this centerbeam is missing a coupler
20:00 CP 8757 leading solo
20:20 NS ET44AC and CN GP40-2 with IC lettering doubleheading
20:46 BNSF MOW train
21:36 KCS leader along with Family Lines, Conrail, and Maryland midland freight cars
21:50 WOW! Texas And Northeatsern train! This G&W line serves Texarkana, but I've never seen it on VRF before
22:05 Northeast Reigonal at speed
22:14 Metro-North train. I've also never seen those stop barriers before
6:01 Those empty SCWX coal hoppers are likely returning from Santee Cooper's Pennyroyal Generating Station in Georgetown, SC. It's likely I handled some of these same cars when I was a conductor for Carolina Southern in the early 2000's. CALA served the Grainger Steam Generating Station in Conway, SC. until service was embargoed due to multiple bridge deficiencies. Also, due to draconian EPA regulations on coal fired power plants, the Grainger power plant likewise ceased operations. The entire plant was demolished in 2014.
IDK -
Still think it would have been more memorable for them to have their phrase be "Moving the FREIGHT of the world" instead of "Moving the weight of the world".
Oh well - they didn't ask me so their loss. LOL!
so how mant tankers ???????????
I love train is awesome 🚂🚂
12:25 ZZ Top in Ashland.
I think those double decker coaches are for the Long Island Railroad.
Look like old LIRR c1 cars, ex- saratoga and north creek?
Trains!
Those cars look like the ones used by NJ Transit on the NEC
they look more like the C3s on the Long Island Railroad(tbh i think that is what they are)
@@Mnrr6131 Ah yes you are right
A friend of mine said those are ex lICC C1 coaches
@@theassassinscorruptedworld9394 ohhhhh that would explain the familiar look
16:01 Now if we can only get PTC on 611 and then get NS to allow mainline access again. One can only hope.
What are those grey boxes at 12:52 censoring?
@@atticusstewart3991 they block the bright light that comes on at night.
Lights over the platform in order to make the trains easier to see, especially during the nighttime hours.
Big Boy always looks good hauling freight, now put it on a refrigerator train..
Big Boy in the thumbnail is enough for my attention. 😃
They will claim those cars with the double deck, and upper windows,( and wierd tie up equipment inside), are for shipping cars...yeah,sure they are.
Does anyone know what the 4014 runs on now?
It was converted to be an oil burner.
Wonder what happened with the fawn??😮
I live in Pennsylvania. White Tailed Deer Does are excellent mothers as they are solely responsible for their fawns. (The buck takes no part in raising the fawns.) They are never far away.
@@bknesbitt2155 Would have been interesting to see how she worked that out.
Ex-LIRR C1s. Which makes me ask: The MTA can't freshen up the paint on their current fleet but former cars can get new paint?
That is because the new owners had both the resources and the desire to have them repainted.
Is the credibility of bike riders everywhere lowered?
Cool closing.
did any one notice that on the second passenger car a door was open ?.
Where/what (time mark) are you referring?
In transit access has to be left to the handbrake. That’s the good news. The bad news: in moving pax cars on a freight train THOU SHALT NOT couple up to a car with shelf couplers like a tank car. The upper shelf rubs/breaks the pax car buffer.

Was it just me or was that 4014 without a helper
Karen, Kandra, Ken, Kent!
WOW!! LITTLE GIRL is absolutely the most awesome steam locomotive EVER I SWEAR!! Even more awesome than that lame Big Boy? It seems as if every citizen living in Wyoming was at the depot to greet the majestic one?? Awesome sight indeed 😎 👏 👍 😀 👌
26 minutes I'd quality Railway entertainment. Many thanks.
Big boy 4014 at 14:13
I was surprised that the big boy didn't have any diesel locomotives with it.
I love this video

awesome weekend
Bro gp7?
Why is there so much foreign power?
No idea, personally, but I do find it interesting.
Run thru power on thru trains between different railroads.
