For anyone finding this in 2019 forward --> There's now a version with double the battery power that will give you significantly more range. Most of the rest of the video is still valid though.
Which won't happen if you're not stupid enough to run out of range. Just like you'd hope a regular driver isn't stupid enough to run out of fuel and not have any jerry cans. Regardless, this is a van, not a car. How can you seriously mistake a van for a car?
Are the back seats removable completely? Cause the 3rd row even after they have been put up take a fair share of room away when you want to transport kitchen furniture for example.
So the e-nv200 has a dual battery system - the drive batteries under the van, and a traditional 12V battery under the hood, for onboard and cab electronics and electricals, but are they connected? Does the drive battery charge the 12V battery? Like an alternator, in a petrol/diesel van? Or do you have to charge it at an EV station?
The big battery charges the 12V battery via a DC to DC charger. If you get an inverter and connect it to the 12V battery you can use 1700W continuously for leisure activities without deppleting the battery, since this is the rate at which the 12V battery get charged by the big battery. I’m going to buy one and turn it into a camper and take full advantage of that 1700W. Can even use it for heat in addition to the van’s built in heater.
@2:43 No, this is an EV van, so there is not enough room to do this as opposed to a normal, traditional, van. If you really don't need 7 seats, there is no point in buying the 7-seater.
I like how car manufacturers are discouraging their customers from picking hybrids/ electric cars over their petrol/ diesel models by making them butt ugly... clever.
can't really see the point in this unless you're about 95 and do 2K miles a year, in which case why would you need a seven seater. Think a Hybrid or small petrol engine is a much better idea. Although it may work well as a mourning limousine instead of the traditional eight seater, six door extended jags that most places use to follow a hearse these days. But preventing it from that may be the badge on the front.
I wonder if you could put Solar Panels on the roof with a Lithium Battery, Inverter, and Home Charger and let the solar top it off while you are at work?!
not if you charge from private grid (solar panels) Yes its possible and nowdays quite affordable. However - battery lifespan, cost for the solar system and questionable lithium mining and the huge upfront cost makes this otherwise FANTASTIC van VERY unaffordable. Honestly i dont know who's the target group here. Craftsmen just pick diesel and as a mini bus it does not have the range... Yeah...Its a sad situation for the EV:s
No storage space?! Oh dear, next time you should take your time and actually look a the car before babbling on about it. Another thing that slipped your attention: The backrests of the middle row seats are adjustable as well, giving the third row more knee room if necessary. Concering driving dynamics - well this isn't a big van really, this is a small bus and a very affordable one at that. Considering this, it drives very well. Mind you, it will load close to 4000 litres with the seats taken out (which can be done fairly easily and will convert your 7 Seater into a cargo van if needed. As a five seater with only the two backrow seats taken out, you'll still get a whopping 2300 Litres of boot space.), so your typical 7 seater has NOTHING to do with this vehicle. Also worth mentioning is the stellar efficiency when it comes to the exteriour to interior ratio. You'll find no other car that is so small on the outside (just 6 cm longer than a VW golf while beeing considerably narrower) while delivering that amount of space on the inside.
Carbuyer in my opinion is one the best, if not the best car review show on TH-cam,, Until..... Matt left and now is working for Carwow! When did that happen? No reviews yet but I'm sure it's gonna be Mattanstic! #mattanstic
Lol, with all those european standard safety & feature, i was surprised that this car was available in UK, whether in UK it is an electric car.. In Indonesia this car named as Nissan Evalia, using the same engine as Nissan Grand Livina 1.5l.. 😆 P.s : Di Indonesia aja penjualannya ga terlalu bagus.. Apakabar di UK yah? 😅

The sound is awful. Matt tends to lower his voice when finishing his sentences, so it's difficult to hear what he is saying without making continuous adjustments to the volume.

You can forget this car with the Charghing system : Typ1 and Chademo The Car is not usable, because both types are not a europe standard and Typ1 is slow as hell. Nissan uses not Typ2 which would lod the car in 1 hour in whole europe. Type2 is the standard in europe. NIssan is sleeping in this charging sector.
john smith So? Just because you're from England doesn't make you necessarily British. I'm having a hard time believing they're Romanians as supposed to Gypsies, as it's very rare for Romanians to have very large families, whereas Gypsies from Romania have usually 4-5+ kids. There are also exceptions of course.
Matts last video for Carbuyer, carwow for the win
For anyone finding this in 2019 forward --> There's now a version with double the battery power that will give you significantly more range. Most of the rest of the video is still valid though.
@Chemelle R They're sold out across a lot of Europe but you should be able to reserve one at your local Nissan dealer
Thank you for the brilliant reviews over the years, Mat! See you at Carwow! :)
Wait is this the last video he did with carbuyer?
@@Jameshoward999 I think so. I was searching for this video to see when he left to carwow
I adore this. The amount of cargo room is unmatched
He is, probably, the best male presenter. it is a pity that he left the channel
6:28 You clearly didn’t watch till the end where he states why we might never see him again 😉 🇸🇪
He went to Carwow
@@glennfeldt_74 I don't know English, what did he say?
@@alucard1960 he said "if you never see me again, it's probably because I'm stuck on the side of the road with no battery left"
This is nearly there, but 300 km effective range should be a must.
Not necessarily. There is a reason why there are incremental improvements. They need economies of scale to offer huge range on the cheap.
Thank you, this is the fiirst video i have seen where they actually show the rear seats properly
I need this in the USA!
"Let's say you have a large family.... and.... you're fucking blind! This car is for you!"
+Sandouras "And really enjoy having roadside picnics... For when you run out of electric!"
+Sandouras Perfect advert for condoms
Guess you will never have a family with your attitude *lol*
I laughed way too hard at this.

This guy's a great reviewer. Sounds like he's gone. We'll follow him. Not bad on the eyes either.
Its like they punish Mat or smth. The other guy got to drive a posh Merc and such and they give Mat a minivan.
This van is ideal for many things! Ideal camper..
Camper with a 60 mile range? Could could only camp in your local town.
Are the back seats removable completely? Cause the 3rd row even after they have been put up take a fair share of room away when you want to transport kitchen furniture for example.
Is Mat finally back or is this recorded months ago again?
+MS Most probably recorded months ago
+MS he's at carwow now
+Fabian Honor Yeah, you can tell by the clothing and sun.
+Melvin Gan thanks
+MS If Mat is gone from carbuyer then im gone as well. Mat was the reason i sticked to carbuyer all these years. Dont like the new presenter much.
I would buy one but only if it would be available in Poundland.
Great review Matt
I'm glad he is back.
It says it borrowed a lot from the nissan leaf. Would that include the e-pedal?
It's an electric car, but it still use Halogen Lamps... They should use LED to save more electricity.
It would be nice to have one in Quebec Canada. I did not see any yet.
This was Matts last ever review :(
Matt Corr he currently does car reviews on CarWow. 👍
Can some company bring these 7 seater van into Australia with the 40kwh battery.
Definelly the best electric vehicle ever made

Can you add a review of the elgrand import?
This is the coolest plus greenest technological marvel on the planet.

Hey guys😃💪, I'd Like ask where is MAIN SWITCH To disconnect the batteries? Thank you for Answer
I think you should update this review to the 2018 versions and update your fast charging info. Thanks
surprisingly cool package for a vehicle..
Please review the Nissan Leaf 2016
Why it's not available in North America?
Can you please review Mercedes E class estate hybrid. I want to know how that differs from other hybrids @carbuyer.
surprised the middle seats don't have a bed configuration
Can you do a review of the face lifted ford c max
They really need to sell 100% EV vans everywhere, I'm waiting !
@3:14 van =/= panel van but this is a panel van based vehicle.
Omg 😮 never knew Matt worked in car buyer
Everyone knows Matt is he famous
"one thing I do like is you can actually recline these rear seats" Nissan e-NV200 Combi - Good for dogging
Yes it is and as its electric no one can hear you comming🤪😳🖕

Think I’ll get one!
Same vehicle shape as NYC designated taxi. Electric power not yet available in NYC.
Last review for mar Watson on Car buyer
What is mat doing here?
Where to buy this van in the USA?
i like .. how price

No way it could compete with an EV version of the new Berlingo (if that happens).
Why not in Canada!

is it available in ca usa
its 2016, maybe its time to stop acting shocked at how quiet electric cars are
70 miles is not enough to carry people inter-city. well i guess beside tesla and bolt every electric cars are bound to live inside one city only.
KZ8FT5VAYL8IZRRZ4TLIKII7RFRZ986777
This is why charging stations exist
You don't want to constantly charge your vehicle. ;)
Nope, there is the Hyundai IONIQ with about 240 km of range. BTW 70 miles might be more than just enough because you regain range while braking.
More EV reviews :)
So this is where car wow started from
not available in the U.S. :(
I'd wait few more years - roll on 2017 in 2021 and the 2nd hand dealship gave this a bad miles-per-charge
CarBuyer isn't CarBuyer without Matt.
where where you matt?
Too bad Nissan doesn’t sell the passenger version and only the cargo version of this van in the United States.
who is that man at 4:49
