Good talking. Always valuable information in experience and wisdom. Personally, as a rookie O/O, it's a no brainer. Regardless of the direction you go, you need handsome rates. I think it's very little to do with structure. Low rates should be low fleet vehicle, like 1+ cargo vans. Strong rates, then increase your fleet. And I mean STRONG rates. None of this BS going around now. Ultimately, the primary focus and the absolute key to this business to remember are MILES. The MILES run and control this business, and YOU cannot. The best owners in the world eventually are plagued by the MILES disaster to your fuel usage, equipment attrition and BREAKDOWNS. Live the highlife, boast the earnings, talk the talk, but miles attrition breakdowns are king in this business. At which point you now resort to CREDIT, title/pawn, or your children's college saving, or vacation savings, etc (you get it) MILES win, we lose. Why do you think the shippers LOVE O/Os? Because we tend to be shortsighted, seeing dollars$$$$!!. While the smart shippers know that the MILES will eventually take it all back. A much better business venture for you all. A Mechanics Shop. The Trucking Industry MILES will feed you handsomely in perpetuity $$$$.
@@bmizzle1074 I've had/having a wonderful experience. Best time of my life! If I describe to the audience the annals of a heroin addict, doesn't mean I was one. Just please don't do it!!

@William Robinson Sounds like you're trying to put your bad experience on everybody else. Attitude goes further than Miles. ✍️
