@@ShowMeTheSample Yeah, Eddie didn't have a lot of luck sucesswise so if thomas' father didn't produce his album daft punk would never have sampled it and he'd have been completely forgotten
@@ShowMeTheSample I’ll have to check it out for sure! And to answer a reply below- my favorite DP track has to be Lose Yourself to Dance. It’s timeless.
That’s a hard one to answer, it’ll either have to be One More Time or Da Funk (I basically like all of their stuff). What’s your favourite Daft Punk track?
The only time i wished the Dafts had said something (even though i have the upmost respect for them for the way they handled their career) is when they got up on stage at the Grammys in 2014 to send a big up to their friend who had passed away just a few months before. That would have been such a nice move.
@@ShowMeTheSample that's right 😉 It's Daniel Vangarde (Bangalter is his real name), the father of Thomas who produced this track, he was a big producer of disco or funk songs in the 70's
I immediately heard it when you played it but I never heard the original before you played it. Did you discover that or was it known? (Did they give credit to the original writers?) I would have gone on never knowing because I probably never would've heard the original. If you discovered that then yes I agree great detective work and my mind is also blown. I am now a fan and subscribed. Show me the sample is fricken awesome! Oh and by the way yes I did really hear it immediately but that will probably never happen again and it was a fluke and just lucky this time. Great job to you!
Nearly, obviously it is it, but the bass note is different in the bits you've grabbed!! Yours goes (pitched) G G G etc B A, whereas the bassline sample in daft punk is GGG etc D A!!! slightly different!!
Daft punk literally was such a minor, used 1 sec sections and put them in a different order making an entirely different music composition, that is true sample art, nut just straight ripping out 3 sec or more to make the majority of the background music
Honestly, electronic music is not my cup of tea. Except DAFT PUNK! Their wide knowledge of music is tough to beat. And their samples really make music.
They didn't credit it... Only when they get found do people come looking for cash! It was different times then... Pre internet! What's your favourite Daft Punk track?
@@ShowMeTheSample The CD booklet that came with my Discovery copy shows the artists and songs that Daft Punk sampled. I should also point out that Thomas Bangalter's father produced More Spell on You, so getting permission to sample the track probably wasn't a big deal.
