This fair: *no*
I rode it once and the door almost opened while the ship was going down. Also, the only things that prevents the door from opening while in movement and you from falling out it’s a small lock.

Man, that is dangerous! At first I thought it looked cool when you were getting airtime, but the longer it went the more I felt that would be too dangerous to even be able to run like that. I know for a fact here in the United States that wouldn't be allowed
You've practically gone on everything there is to go on, and a pirate ship is probably the first time you felt like it was dangerous, and that you had enough before the end.😁
I was so blown away by this when you first aired it and it's still mind-blowing. I agree, how is that even allowed! Definitely worth seeing again.

I couldn't stop smiling throughout this video, this ride seems like something I would love, I love thrill rides and I love Pirate ship rides so this is like a dream ride for me.
Oh yes, I did this too in France. It made me think of Tower of terror, but stand up and no seatbelts. It shows that the fair here is actually kind of for a wuss compared to France or Spain.
this type of ride with the cages is very common in Italy, it’s almost at every fun fairs

it's crazy it is allowed in france. yet look up ' action park' in new jersey , which had several deaths and dozens of severe incidents yet stayed open for years.

that's just mad! i remember a looping pirate ship in France where it was just a pressing pad in your chest and bars to hold onto, and the ride operator was a bloody sadist. he took us over the top really slowly. oof.

I went on one of those in the cage and full swing I jumped by accident and I went flying to the roof of the cage lol but I have to say it was worth it. By far the funniest video you have posted all year your face at 3:31 after going in the air was so funny 😂

I was so astonished from doubting the safety of a scrambler I rode at some travelling family's county fair...I found myself petrified of my pod becoming loose and rocketing straight across the yearly agricultural fair over in the Eastern Townships...astonished, because I'd always praised and rallied for independent business, but the ride looked and felt BEAT, especially by the ample gaps left along the bolts between the nuts and their fastenings; it must've rattled what with those gaps bringing LOTS of wobbliness about, but -- hey -- fairgoers' shriekings can become fierce

I would fly to France just to try this, I’m not gonna lie.
I’m officially too old for roller coasters - even steel coasters give me a migraine.
But I love a good pirate ship and this is the extra level of airtime/stomach drop thrill I crave.

If I ever had a pirate ship ride at my amusement park I would put padding in the stand up portioned of the ride so riders wouldn't fall face first into the metal cage and get hurt.

Holy crap, I knew these were real!! I have a memory of going on one with my brother when I was a kid, but I could never remember which fair it was at. No one ever believed me (or my brother), but now I feel vindicated! It was such a wild experience and we were for sure too young for it to have been safe.

That ride was great .reminds me of an old dive bomber at our local travelling fair it was so dangerous no restraints and the cars used to stick and not spin when going over the top and you would end up in the footwell for the duration of the ride.cuts bruises the work's

This is actually very common in spain! Also a ride named La carcel that is a regular rainbow ride but with cages!
i did one like this in belgium, only the it was bigger and with 3 friends. its so mutch fun!!!! its realy amazing.

I have never seen Shawn look concerned before
I remember there was a pirate ship like ride at fireworks night in Tunbridge Wells waaay back in the late 80s. My dad used to take me on it with him. You actually had to use your weight to move it back and forth. It was not secure but was sooo much fun. Also I remember biting in to a frozen burger patty and being repulsed. Those were the days.
