Just installed a set in my 2015 Ram 4x... Thanks for the tips and information- If I can add a tip- BUY 4 EXTRA LONG ZIP TIES BEFORE YOU START THE PROJECT- When I scrunged down the airbags, I used two long zip ties to hold them flat and was able to just insert the deflated bags with zero effort...Once they were in place, I just clipped the zip ties and it worked flawlessly... Happy trailering!
Finally, just like you , I’ve searched everywhere to find out if I could add these bags to my 4inch rcx lift, now that I see how the bags work , not worried about it. Think I’ll do this to my truck and add a 4in spacer to keep from over stressing the bag. Thanks great video and information !!!!!!!!!
I just installed these on my 2014 ram with a 7 in lift. I also installed airlift spacers to fill the space between the bottom of the bag and the axle. Works like a charm!
With this kit, it adds about 1000 lbs of extra help. Having said that I've switched to a weighsafe hitch (best $300 I've ever spent) that has a built in gauge to show you the amount of tongue weight you have. Good rule of thumb is 10%. So at your 7500lbs, all you need is 750 lbs of tongue weight to be completely safe to tow that. Murdering the truck on a bizillion lbs of tongue weight serves no purpose and just wears out the suspension and rear drive components on your truck; when 750lbs (in your case) is perfect. With these bags that will definitely help the sag by 75-85%.
I just had a shop install the hd ones on my ram 1500 and towed my 7k rv camper but noticed more swaying even though I use a wdh vs when towing without the airbags. I know it's a long shot but though I'd ask if you noticed any difference?
I sold that truck, and I no longer have it, but I did not notice a swaying issue. I later eventually upgraded that truck to a regular airbag kit, because I was hauling more weight. But as long as you stay within the guidelines and not overload it more than a thousand pounds I thought it worked really really good.
Thanks for the video as it has helped me install my airlift system on my lifted Ram. My question is, how were you able to put the airline in from the top of the coil? I have a stop and don't see how I can come from the top of the spring. Am I missing something? do I need to remove the wheel well liner to see the top of the coils better?
I reached it from the inside, there should be enough clearance. Then I just ran the lines accordingly like I talked about in the video. If I understand what you're asking, I hope. If you're able to take the load off the system it should separate the springs and give you that room to do your work.
hows it going. have you had any problems yet?. i also have a 6inch bds coil over kit. i called air lift and they said it would not work with the longer springs. and does the truck sag a bit when ur hooked up. im towing a tpy hualer around 8k pounds.
Is it still working for you? Some reviews say it doesn't last long. I have the same problem as you did with lift and sag from my camper that I rarely use.
Great question.... I did have a bag pop at the seam and I had to replace it. It was so annoying. However I haven't had trouble since. The one lasted over year or so. And this new one has been longer than a year.
+Ian McClung Hi Ian! Sorry brother, I just saw your comment. Well I can say, they are holding up great! My trailer is just about the same as yours weight-wise. One thing I will say, they don't have as much support (obviously)of the full blown air-bag kits like the Air Lift 5000 I used to have on my other trucks, where it adds thousands of pounds of lift support, but... these are super affordable and definitely help. So I do like them because I don't tow like I used to with my 2500 trucks, so this kit being on my 1500 I love it.
Thanks for this. Was wondering about this for my lifted Tahoe as options are limited and all lifted springs for them are soft.
So glad it helped!
FYI there small square holes under the tailgate predrilled for the valves.

Awesome to hear man. And totally, that's the reason I made the video in the 1st place, I couldn't find any for lifted trucks. Glad it helped.

When I tow my 7400 lb rv it sags quiet a bit I also have a 6 in lift. Does this kit keep truck level when towing ty bob

Great Video. I just installed on stock ram 1500. Thanks!
Awesome!
Nice video would be nice to see the difference between fully loaded and not loaded how the bag's look like.

Thanks for the quick response...I'll try it when I get home...i have three night to try getting it right.
Good clarity, not bad at all!! Thanks!!
Thank you !
did this by any chance give it a bit of more lift? when fully inflated
No it doesn't. It just helps with extra load.

No problem yet. After all these years still original bags and going strong.
how did you jack up the body to take the pressure off the springs?
I lifted it from the hitch area.

How has this application held up? Work good?
So far so good!
How has this held up? I am towing a 7,500lb toy hauler with a 6" BDS lift... There's a bit of squat haha
