Thank you Dave and Logan and Peter for sharing with us such an insight into life in the New Forest. We have been enriched by the readings, the colours of the environment, the walk and watching Logan!😊 Peter has a real gift and it seemed like you three were in a painting as you walked in the Forest! Wonderful!
Dave, I love how you're adding people of interest to your videos! Thank you so much! It's an area so rich in history and, of course, people create that history and add so much richness to the story. Wonderful presentation! And the Elephant Oak...magnificent! Wish I could be there to paint it as well.
Again a really interesting video with great added interest of Peter Frost's lovely painting and information about the New Forest. The now and then paintings were revealing. Thanks so much for your lovely walks this year, hoping following your footsteps next year. Happy Christmas to you and Logan.
Thoroughly enjoyed this one, Dave. I found Peter's initial sketch very impressive but the final version is just incredible. Thanks for sharing and merry Christmas!
Thank you Dave, such an interesting walk and guest. Lovely painting and right up my street. One of my favourite paintings is "Study of an Elm Tree" by Constable, it's more real than real life. Just like to wish you a Merry Christmas and if we don't get a new video, a Happy New Year.
Thank you. I always have such great admiration for people that can produce amazing paintings like that from a blank canvas. Best wishes to you over the Festive period and into 2025.
I thought the elephant oak was more like an octopus with so many limbs! Shame Peter didn't paint Logan into the picture...at one point Logan was posing by the tree! An interesting and slightly different video! Great when Logan went off looking for pottery sherds right on cue!
Hello Dave, Overhere in the Netherlands I enjoy watching your walks with Logan in my favourite area:The New Forest. I know Cadman's pool ,but have not yet seen the Elephant Oak.Will go and look for it once I'm over. What a nice surprise to see Peter Frost. I guess that the vicar on horseback was Peter Murphy. Looking forward to new walks. Best wishes for the New Year.
Thanks Hannu. Fortunately there was a nice bed of leaves to rest on (and a stick to chew on!) for Logan while he was waiting for Peter to finish his painting!
What a wonderful idea to go out with Peter. As an artist, graphic designer and illustrator I can tell you it takes dedication to paint outside (en plein air) at this time of year. In fact I’ve rather given up doing so apart from on slightly more conducive days. Mind you I do live in northeast Scotland. I have a small collection of Roman shards of pottery discovered just where you were. I wish you, your family and Logan all the best for Christmas and thank you for all your hard work throughout the year producing such interesting videos.
Thank all three of you for this interesting video in the midst of a great heritage there. Mind you, people are going to need housing, and unless the urban areas can double up and add density, which is always controversial amongst those with means (not me in other words) the only way to expand is outwards. God bless, Merry Xmas, Happy New Year 2025!
Great episode. Can't say any more than that.
Thank you. :)
What a fantastic finished painting of that amazing tree by Peter !
He captured it so well. We definitely went to see it at the right time of year.

Yes, I think that Logan was convinced that he was the main subject being painted at one stage!
