The Most Underrated Country I've Visited | Lebanon Travel Vlog

  • Next up in circling the Mediterranean in 40 days...Lebanon! I'm so excited to be back in this stunning country and explore Beirut, Tripoli, Batroun, and Byblos.
For years, I've had a dream of circling the whole Mediterranean; not just the European coasts but also exploring the Middle East and North Africa. My sister, Sage, and I got to planning and together we are embarking on this adventure together. When we were looking at the travel space, it seemed that female creators still appear to be far outnumbered and local female stories are had to come by. With this in mind, we want to explore each location through the lens and experience of the local gals who live there to gain a better understanding of the culture, politics, and history of each region.

I lived in Beirut for a year in the early 2000s (I was bureau chief for the news outlet I worked for at the time.) It's difficult to describe to those who've never visited just how culturally rich, historically significant, and downright beautiful the country is -- though you do a pretty darn good job of that here.🙂
The people of Lebanon are easily among the friendliest and most helpful I've ever met, the food is amazing, and the history and culture can't be beat. It's had a rough go of it over the past 50 years or so. Yet even with the civil war, the refugee crisis, economic problems, and the 2020 blast, it's still easy to see why Beirut is called the Paris of the Middle East, and why the country as a whole is a favorite among people from all over the world.

I am so happy to see that you had such a good time. Thank you for showing your audience the beauty that is this tiny mismanaged piece of heaven! My country has been through so much yet every time I have taken my European friends (I am Lebanese but moved to London when I was 7) they have reminded me just why I fell in love with Lebanon in the first place and they loved it just as much! I actually moved to Beirut and worked there for 3 years after graduation and it’s sad to witness what has happened since 2019 but like we always say, Lebanon WILL rise again.

While life in Lebanon can be tough, watching videos like these help remind me of all the beauty and culture that’s out there that can hardly be paralleled anywhere else. Thanks Elena for bringing exposure to this beautiful country. I watched your content for a long time and wish we could have crossed paths! I hope you will come back again someday because there’s so much more to discover! ❤

This is a great video, with lots of nice detail, esp. about our history. I only wish (and this isn't a complaint) that you would have shown more people in your vid. We Lebanese have a rich variety of looks. Many of us are actually white with colored eyes. The variety should be shown because people who don't know who we are just assume we're just another group of Arabs, and stereotype us in every way possible, including our looks. But of course Lebanon, like any country, is unique.

Elena I love your videos and seen
absolutely all, when I saw especially
this I felt that the Mediterranean
literally went out in that place, it is
beautiful but without a doubt it has a
resemblance to the French coast only
a sadder climate, but the culture and
the interview at the fashion level are
very elaborate and great. I was talking
to my mother about making her know
the Mediterranean when I managed to
leave my country I want to give her
that beautiful gift she deserves it,
above all she is the person who gave
me life. When I went to Amalfi for the
first time the impact that my eyes saw
were the most beautiful in the whole
world and I thanked God and my
mother for giving me life without a doubt, because without it it would not
have been possible to achieve that.
And from my point of view the
    Mediterranean hides the most
    beautiful treasures that through a
    simple camera cannot be fully
appreciated, I am very sorry that the
French have not been able to settle in
Lebanon I feel that it was the best for
them at the level of development, but
well I feel that the Middle East in this
case invaded Syria only to partially
    impoverish the nation and bring
authoritarian But well there are also
positive cases like the ones you put in
the interview, only that the nation is
    submerged by authoritarian
    governments (not to mention that
from the Middle East Lebanon and authoritarian But well there are also
positive cases like the ones you put in
the interview, only that the nation is
    submerged by authoritarian
    governments (not to mention that
from the Middle East Lebanon and
Syria are currently the most relaxed
countries at the levels than others of
Arab descent, let's say they are more
"flexible" than for the West it is not
but at least for them yes.)
I love your lifestyle I hope to realise mine in the same way, at least similar because projects always come different, but well also that strength will always give you freedom as long as you have it and values, which is what I now undoubtedly respect, value and appreciate more. When you are completely single you can give yourself all those privileges and even being married but it is difficult to find the freedom completely that in the end they always see it as a tie and a division and it should never be like that, but that is our current society.
