3:47 is what I believe what makes the piece so famous. For 30 seconds the song transitions from a dark gloomy setting that he usually plays and builds up a transition of what I could only describe as redemption. And then plays a light heavenly tone. I have known this piece for about 7 months and unlike any other song. I cannot get tired of this one, and that part brings me to tears everytime
I get goosebumps on this part too. Plus i cant get tired of it as u said. Every few days i have a new favourite part of this piece, its just so many beautiful passages, everything fits so perfect
Literally my favorite part. I mean there are other good moments but it just feels all of those are meant to prepare for this climax. Those emotions are "in your face" in the sense that it is so direct, sincere and powerful. Like when someone tells you the hard truth instead of playing around the bushes if you know what I mean.
@@szilike_10the entire counterpart to the c minor theme before the climax is to raise the tension for said climax, and the theme afterwards slowly descends back into the melancholic theme. The moderato basically revolves entirely around them
@@ChopinSchubert True, I'm definitely not giving up on rach no.2 because I also think it's possible to do almost anything with enough time and dedication.
Used to play a lot of Beatmania back in the day; I could read the note scroll pretty easily and could see myself learning it within a few months...until 2:20 lol. Mind you, it's also obviously far easier to learn a 7-key controller than an 88-key one.
You choose yourself what you want each hand to be playing tho, that’s the best part of it... plus it’s kinda instinctual: the melody octaves and the stuff inbetween them you play with the right and the arpeggios with the left; or in the parts where there’s only arpeggios like early on, you start with the left and go with it until it feels the best to switch over to the right, and repeat for each bass note
Sabrina Chen rachmaninoff sometimes had bizarre left and right hand separation ( look at C sharp minor prelude) this created the best emphasis one some notes, and therefore best tone and colour. So it’s very useful.
RH is easier, just play C-Db and C-D with thumb. But in LH, if your hand span is not enough, you have to roll these intro chords. Or play lower F as a grace note.
Came here hoping someone would know how to describe this part, because I want to find a guitar cover of someone doing this so I can learn it. Any ideas 💡 please let me know

Honestly, the most beautiful thing I've ever heard, and its beauty is emphasized because of the contrast
I agree but it's a piece not a song

5:44 -6:38 .... how gorgeous
such a shame it doesn’t get enough attention in an orchestra. The pianist has the hardest part!!!!
It’s such a hard piece because the pianist is more the accompanist of th orchestra than the soloist

Hi!
Note to self:
no, you can not pay this. you are in the middle of learning something else and you are not a virtuoso. maybe in 3 years.
Ikr, I just started learning it for fun ( solo version ) but it would take me forever to learn it properly :/
